What blows my mind is that they HAVE to do those stepbacks to take a shot against this insane defense. They are pulling moves that none of us could ever hit EVERY play and hitting 50-80-70 sometimes

Charles Barkley invented it from scratch. The actual statement from Anthony Edwards went like this. He was asked by a reporter after his game vs. the Nuggets if he had any thoughts on playing the Mavericks next. His reply was this: "Hey, it's going to be fun, man. You know umm, my.. my matchup is going to be Kyrie, so that's going to be fun. We're going to see what I can do verses him." His tone of voice and face was sincere. He was answering the question about his thoughts, and he wasn't remotely disrespectful. On the contrary, he sounded as if he was acknowledging how big a challenge that would be. Charles Barkley, following the first game with the Timberwolves and Mavericks, changed that quote into something different. He stated it as, "I got Kyrie," and he suggested that Anthony was making a bold prediction that he would outplay him and that this should serve as motivation to Kyrie to put him in his place. You see that reflected now in how countless people are spinning Anythony's words to ridicule him. I'm neither a Timberwolves or Mavericks fan. But I don't like seeing the media do this to players or viewers. I think we should make an effort to call it out.

Klay. Isn’t in the conversation. He couldn’t take a mannequin off the dribble. To think that Klay should be considered one of the best closers is ludicrous. Steph and KD were the reason they won those championships. I never said he at one time wasn't a great shooter but when you are in need of someone to get it done Klay was the second or third choice.
Honestly as big Joker fan im not biased when i say Denver would crush the Mavs, but i always knew Mavs could beat Minnesota, Luka is that guy and uncle Drew as the second option is op af with good supporting cast

NBA reporters have been anxious to find the next Jordan for 30 years. Anthony Edwards is a closer comparison to Vince Carter, and that is no slight to Ant man's game... there's just no reason to immediately jump right to Jordan.
Kyrie's inside game is unreal. He starts from anywhere, gets inside all the oaks and tall pines and gets his shot not only 'off' but he makes 'em, and often with contact and the call. I call his movement the corkscrew.

Antman was scared to shoot in the 4th quarter......the timberwolves got the number 1 defense , and luka and kyrie had more of a challenge against a washed up clippers team and a up and coming okc team
Easy to forget that games 1+2 were actually super close and Wolves controlled things most of them. Hasn't been easy. This was the first game where Mavs actually had the lead and controlled things.
Wolves fan before game 1: “Wolves sweeping!” After game 1: “Wolves in 5!” After game 2: “don’t worry Wolves in 6!” It really took 3 straight wins to completely shut up Miny Blunder Timberpuppy fans for once after all their barking.

Barkley is still kinda ignorant about winning basketball. Luka and Kyrie are not really "one on one" players. They know how to pass the ball and guarding them makes it difficult for the opposing team to defend and so they can score at will when it is needed. Both are given green light to shoot. Larry Bird and Dennis Johnson are the model with these type of players. One on One players must be exceptionally athletic to possibly win rings. MJ without Pippin? MJ also learned to understand that he has to pass the ball.

The only way for the Wolves to slow Luka and Kyrie down is to make them work on the defensive end. Clearly, you have to focus on containing and not completely stopping them. They are elite scorers, make them play defense.
@@JT-fv7culol luka and kyrie had a more difficult path to the finals since west are stacked af. tatum and the celtics got the easiest path to the finals ever with most of the superstars in the east being injured lol they even struggled against pacers without haliburton if it weren’t for nembhard making a turnover. they’re not even that competitive lol most west teams have 50+ wins like okc for example the number 1 seed yet luka and kai beat they ass…

Completely agree. Luka is already impossible to guard. Add on top of that every time he loses the ball he throws his head back and gets a whistle, it’s impossible
Luka is in the beginning of his prime, and its showing. Got the skills, now got the mental game strong. 25-30 is usually your best years athletically. Its his time. Finals between mavs and Celtics. I just hope it goes to 6 or 7 games to make it fun. Nobody wants to see a sweep or 3-1. I'll pull for the mavs and luka, Celtics have enough titles at the moment lol. Should be good. You know the NBA is happy not to see the pacers in the finals lol. They only want big market teams in the finals! Should be fun to watch!
