Andrew Scott, Head Voicer at Harrison & Harrison Ltd takes us on a tour of the Wells Cathedral Organ, highlighting its history, construction, and various causes for concern.
The Friends of Wells Cathedral are raising funds for the rebuilding of the Cathedral's Great Organ. The Organ was last refurbished about fifty years ago and is is in need of considerable works.

This is such an interesting video showing the vastness of the Cathedral's wonderful organ and explains so lucidly the areas of concern.

It has an Open Wood already I believe. There are plans to install a 32 reed I understand.

I'd have thought a soft 32' like a Sub-Bourdon would be very useful too, even if only an extension of the 16'. I think that the 16' Ophicleide is very loud from what I recall last time I sang there.

Are there plans for any tonal revision or additions? A reinstatement of a 16’ pedal open wood for example? ;-)
