If I had a massive amount of wealth, and if I’m invited to these events, I won’t hesitate for a single second to turn down the invitation….. I went out on the ice at a local hockey game during a intermission, I joined a select number of other athletes to “show off” our medals, it was a pretty cool thing but I felt really out of place, I would rather be a background player, I was never the one for showboating, sure I’m very proud of my accomplishments and achievements in my athletic lifestyle, but I’m friends with a toxic couple… pretty hard for me to stop hanging out with them because of how long I’ve known them…… that said couple do anything and everything they can to showboat like crazy, it’s like “hey look what I won” After countless times of seeing that not only by them but a few others, It was enough to make me realize that showboating relates to egotism, and I don’t want to be one of those people who go showboating and flaunting their win all over the damn place…….. and to put it shortly, I don’t mind at all getting recognized but I don’t want a spotlight….. lots of people pushing me into those positions and I’m planning on having a sit down chat with my local sport coordinator and explaining how I feel
