Here is a quick breakdown of our newest single "Soundtrack." Written by: Chris Crabb, David Maemone, and Jay Tibbitts Produced by: John Fields, David Maemone, Jay Tibbitts, and Chris Crabb Mixed by: John Fields
I've only recently found you thanks to Spotify, but now I'm thrilled to find this video on youtube. You make it sound so easy, but clearly actually seeing the mix of so many individual sounds (loving the def leppard guitar sound ❤) it's definitely a result of a huge amount of talent and skill.👏 The complexity of each track just makes it better and better. Feel free to do more of these Jay .... I'm hooked 🥰😍🥰
2:14 - this progression is so pretty, but layered with the piano becomes this amazing classic sound I think deeply we all love! The progression itself is almost that longing so often used in Japan "iv-V-iii-vi", right? But it never goes to the "vi" and every time goes to another form of the "iv" again.
Yeah! They are tucked in there :) There's also a breathing part on "Looking for Love" around 1:27 after 'working 9 to 5' there are some exhales in time with the music there if you never noticed haha.
Thank you for this - the whole is just as amazing as the sum of the parts - love the sampling - suggestion: do Nothing New - that song was my intro to The Strike - amazingly hit super close to home being a convert, but I can imagine how much it hits as one transitioning away from
This is one of my favourite songs of the year and as an amateur musician, I LOVE breakdowns like this! Thank you so much and congrats on such an amazing song.
Awesome! As a musician it’s so cool to see the process. Love it when songs get broken down and you can see all the parts you don’t even hear at first that really make the song shine!
This is awesome! The layering is really impressive. I never got into digital tracking, so it’s fun to see how it’s done now. This would have been a monumental project back in the 2” analog tape days I came from.
The song sounds incredible! Could we have a video like this for The Getaway as well? :) Also would you be releasing instrumental versions of both songs, because both have incredible arrangements?
Hey guys, do you have an email? Love your music and wanted to see if it was possible to send you over some tracks of song concepts. I wouldn't normally do this but your sound is very similar to the vibe of the stuff I write. I'm sure you guys already have tons of material but would love to collaborate with you. I'm more just a writer these days but if you liked any of the tracks we could go from there. Let me know.
