there’s a good chance that solider field in chicago will be repurposed or something soon so even though it’s unlikely i’d love to see a tour of the stadium
Hey can you do a USC track and field facility video, trying to decide which colleges to apply to and it’s one of my top choices rn so would be great if you have a video on that!
I am always awed by the God given talents of people. The design group not only restored this iconic structure; they transformed it in a way that respects its history and character.
Dang. This place is a bucket list Purely because of the history of the venue and the fact that they are able to make it modern while still keeping it original
its a disaster. the reno was what we didnt want this was the worst design possible. it ruined the stadium. there are more obstructed seats now than ever
I bet LA was so different then, my grand parents moved to Long Beach at that time, my mom was born in 56, I bet it was way better before it got crowded...
9:20 this is why people that go to architecture school need to reevaluate their life.... this is prime example of how ppl come out of some form of learning program more stupid than ever... what he said was complete nonsense and means nothing.... the reno is horrible. the stadium is ugly now. these idiots literally took a great facility and ruined it.... like shut up and find a new career
I am an OU fan that hates USC right now since they have taken our coaches and players but I have to admit, this is pretty sweet. OU's facilities are second to none but the Coliseum is iconic. Having the LA skyline in the backdrop is pretty cool along with the architecture of the stadium. USC did a great job with the upgrades.
Thanks to the Riley hire, USC has become relevant again. Looking forward to travelling to Southern Californian again to watch the Trojans play in person.
The only unfortunate part about keeping the scholarship tower inside the footprint of the building is that it leaves a lot of seats with an obstructed view on either side.
It was an honor to get to march there with the USC band during a game of my Senior year in high school back in 2004/2005. I chose to go to an HBCU (Hampton and PVAMU) for college. But USC will always be my first love when it comes to Football and the band. All though we all know HBCUs really rule that band shit before the game, and during halftime. Nonetheless, this upgrade is amazing. I'm surprised it took me this long tc heck this video out, as I am a die hard USC and Coliseum fan. Fight On!
As a UCLA fan, I do have to admit that this was pretty cool. The Coliseum had been run down for years and its nice to see how modern it is but still kept the original aspects of the stadium. Great job!

Bruh, in early 90s on up I had the privilege to live across the street from Willie McGinest, and neighbors who had season tickets for USC and the LA Raiders, me and my uncle were always welcomed to go and it was a SAT SUN event, tailgating, and OMG some of the craziest fights especially when KC, and the bills played, this stadium you should never come to wearing another teams Jersey, OMG you were a brave soul... I even was at the game my only true favorite player Bo Jackson got hurt against the Bengal's game... Sad day... I even went to Rams games before they moved to St Louis, those were the days and I was lucky because where I grew up and my neighbors... It's crazy to see how pimped out it is now... All state of the art... I bet people from other states never been to SC are confused until they get on campus, it's so hood outside the school in that part of LA but on campus it's another world...
After all the money, construction and suites, the main flaws in the stadium not only remain, but got amplified: 1. The iconic peristyle is still not a place to sit during games like in the original olympic design. As a result, the temporary tacky bleachers are still needed. It's the most common background for TV and shows nothing but empty seats in the corners and makeshift jerseys under the peristyle. 2. Since seating has been reduced, the dreaded corner seats near the peristyle are depended on more. They're horrible seats and you're at least 50 yards away from the field and far behind the band. A good solution to this would've been to demolish the existing west end zone and bring that section closer. Move the football field to the east toward the peristyle above 15-20 yards. Then the temporary bleachers wouldn't be needed. People would be able to sit in the peristyle and it would look great for TV.
Impressive on the inside, but the outside? If you sit left or right of that huge press box structure, I don't think you can see the whole field, just a wall. What a terrible idea to have that structure down INSIDE the stadium, rather than sitting at the top of the stadium wall. Odd, to say the least. Probably designed by a UCLA or Cal person, and then the rich (but know-nothing USC board members) approved the design, not knowing what they were approving ; )
I get so torn on this stuff - so great to see the Coliseum get new life for a bunch more generations to enjoy it. The founders suites is depressing. How did college sports turn into this crap, man.... like c'mon.

Lipstick on a Pig. Considering all the great architectural plans that had been put forth that actually elevated the Coliseum, this was the worst possible design. Now the facility is A-symmetrical and bizarre looking. Horrible.

It’s jointly owned by CA state Agricultural Association, LA County and LA City. It is managed and operated by USC. It’s amazing the project was approved and completed with 4 parties and a bunch of red tape, restrictions and high cost. Hats off to the committee in charge.
Probably one of the worst renovations in history. College sports is a complete scam. They ruined a stadium for it. What a shame. Looks like a Cruise ship that got dropped on the Bowl. They should have went the Maracana way of renovation. Very unfortunate and shameful
