African Union and African Development Bank should assist this company with long-term loans and let all African presidents and their ministers of transport purchase these buses at all costs. This is what we need as people in our motherland.

That is the way forward. I am just writing a 'dream manifesto' it includes one country being a centre of production for electric/green vehicles. We need to forget about focussing on export to countries outside Africa where we dont have leverage or level playing field. Rather if each country focussed on adding value and manufacturing even three or four products for export to African countries it would make a massive difference and solve a lot of problems. It would make us competitive and be able to produce goods of a world class standard.

What came to mind is Nigeria. Nigeria is missing out in all of these developments happening in some of these African countries with all its resources. It will be nice Africa countries collaborate with each other.

Our academic system deserves minds like this who empower & challenge us all with practical solutions. Many at times we have complained about misplaced priorities by our African government but plaudits must be given to the Uganda President for having a special interest in the project. Now someone even personal,or family problems want to blame government. And once you put yourself in such situation of blaming and complaining you won't grow. Successful people say if you want to be successful stop excuses,complains and blaming other people or governments for your problems instead look for the solutions to them b'se life belongs to you and it's your responsibility change it not someone else or government . By the way I like your thinking leave complaints continue their duty. African governments should be looking at generating intrinsic economic value through infrastructure and trade development by using their very own engineers to develop solutions. It makes no sense that African governments would prefer to have foreign engineers come fix issues in their countries across Energy and Food sectors, when they could focus on grooming their own engineers to solve those problems for example. We need more solutions. We need more manufacturing, not assembling. AFRICA RISING!

This is so inspirational. This the most valuable video I have seen. Africa can show the world that she can excel if our leaders take the initiatives to support valuable projects. I agree with previous post that other African countries must purchase from Uganda instead of overseas companies. Also we need to manufacture parts that they import.within Africa. We need to enhance the sciences, engineering, and develop manufacturing on the continent. I am happy to see this development.

The professor is correct, the entire school system in Africa should be reformed. Shout out to all his efforts and president Museveni for believing in the liberation of his people through technology and to you, wodemaya, thank you for bringing this information out. I just wish the other African presidents will learn from Ugandan President.

I use these buses whenever I'm in Kampala. Their design suits an equatorial country like Uganda. It works on solar energy as well so it never runs out of power.

Weldone & thank you Maya for always uplifting & showing Africa positively to the world. You are loved & appreciated. Good one, congratulations & keep it up Uganda. This is what we need to do not only classroom but also practical investment. I pray other African countries would learn from this & also patronise them/ourselves to create employment for ourselves. Thank you once again Maya for your imparting, creative, educative, entertaining and lively videos. Africa shall be great again.

Imagine IF Nigeria had focused on development instead of grifting and corruption. With the huge quantities of oil and people, Nigeria would by now be the African center for ship building, oil refinery industrial development, aircraft manufacturing, etc.

What are you talking about. Nigeria just completed the greatest economic game changer in all of Africa....the newly build Oil Refinery.
@gerrytushh
@gerrytushh Год назад
@@redswood5731 isn't that refinery a private affair of Mr Dangote? While I applaud his efforts, Nigeria has been terribly underwhelming since independence. There's nothing the country lacked to be Africa's economic super power. But I'm not sure if that's possible any more. Nigeria needed to control and refine it's own oil from the very beginning. That didn't happen. Hope Dangote rescues the country (finally).

I love the professor. He's factual, honest and down to earth. It is sad that money that got released for this purpose got watered down and shared across so many departments. Image how much farther the company/project would have gone if he got the millions of dollars he was meant to rather than $500k. The reality is that what it takes to move Africa forward is not difficult but we have pathetic government personnel who ensure that money doesn't flow where it is meant to (i.e innovation)

It's clear that Uganda's extremely corrupt politicians are holding the country back, despite the president's vision and financial support. These buses should be mandated to replace the current dangerous public transport system.

The future of the world and to be precise the black race lies in Africa." I have a dream that one day there will be mass exodus of black people back to Africa. The exodus will be triggered by self realisation that the only place that will accept and embrace them for who they are is Africa. A place that holds future for their children and children's children. And when that times, Africa will be the paradise and envy of the world."
