I am Polish, I am 56 years old, my parents were born in the areas that today belong to Ukraine, and after the war were taken over by Russia, I was born in a place from where the Germans were expelled after the war, unfortunately it was possible thanks to President Roosevelt's fascination with Stalin, ( Churchill always knew and told his colleagues that Stalin was a criminal and a murderer.) I am afraid that Americans will never be able to understand the mentality of the Russians, because even we Poles have a huge problem with it, but we know the history and we know that in everything he does, Putin follows Stalin's example, he has been using Stalinist methods of government since 1999, and he has no regard for human life, just as Stalin strives for World War III. It's high time the world rubbed its eyes and saw what was really happening. Even in Poland, for 8 years we had a government of people who, as it turns out today, had and still have suspicious connections with Russia, contacts and Russian money. Europe is now rubbing its eyes and starting to see what is really happening. Putin is a psychopath, we have a wonderful journalist in Poland - Krystyna Kurczab Redlich, who wrote several books about Russia, because she lived in Russia for 9 years, but above all, she wrote a great biography of Putin, after reading it, you finally understand who the world is dealing with.

yes, u totally got it! Many of us americans DO know all about this, but not enough of us know (it's a very limited educational 'average' level here, unfortunately, but even the educated still are not grokking (grasping) the reality. Many of us are very familiar w/ how the conservative parties in PL and HU were compromised by russian interests.
What he shared about the KGB taking over businesses I have a friend that experienced that when she was young. Their family owned a very successful business and they came in and took it. The father tried to fight it and was killed thrusting them into poverty. The daughter made her way to the US eventually. The daughter’s drive to success was for one reason only, to help her family that was still there. She was super smart and fiercely driven to success.

It's the same thing the Nazis did to Jewish businesses and others who crossed swords with them. The Russians are not wrong in calling their President "Putler".
When Konstantin says that "great colors everywhere" was one of his first impression of America, I think he means it literally. I visited east Berlin in 1984, and my first very strong impression was that it was all gray, no colors anywhere (and nobody was smiling).

I’ve been following Konstantin since the Invasion. Thank you for this excellent, insightful interview. I learned much more about him and what a good, true Russian man he is 💙💛
When I was in college, I was excited at the prospect of open and democratic elections in Russia. I was excited at the idea that after decades of cold war tension, Russia could take it's place in among the other nations of Europe as a cooperating equal instead of as a rival or as a conqueror, but Putin was not happy with that. Putin didn't want a Russia to be a democracy, he wanted it to be a kingdom. And today, in the age of the internet and cellphones hundreds of thousands of young men are dying for Putin's feudal dreams.
Well west and usa is a bit naive. I like it but look at Slovakia. Its somehow in the people. 30 years and we are back in darkness. MAFIA is ruling our country. People loved they didnt have responsibility. Freedom is harder. And even if you understand that its hard , because our minds are wired differently. Its not fault of Russians in essence. They are product. Russia has had strong military. These dumbasses had too much influence and Putin could in his will to stay in power made the deal with them. We ve seen it during gorbatschov there was military purge. I dont think Putin likes it wery much but he is responsible.
Thank you for interviewing Konstantin. He is doing a great job telling the truth about Russia. If you can help him, please do so. He deserves it very much.
He tells his opinion, not the truth. There are thousands of channels on Y o u t u be from people living in Russia therefore telling from first hand experience how is.

Good stuff! I started watching Konstantin about a month before the invasion. I can tell you all he is a good man.. So I've been watching Russia/Ukraine war through his lens so to speak. The changes in him have been astonishing. I do worry about him and his family's safety.
I traveled to the Soviet Union, IE Russia & Ukraine, back in '71 as part of a student tour as part of my learning the Russian language. People were just people & I had a great time. I had such high hopes for Russia after '91, then the criminals took over. Putin hasn't done much to improve the lives of the common folk over how things were back in the Soviet days. This is going to take generations to fix. Надейся на лучшее, готовься к худшему. 😢

Heck I get swarmed by Russian bots when I make normal comments about the war in Ukraine, I say that is a BADGE OF HONOR. the more I tell the truth , the more they get angry and want to hide it.
Russia is spending something like 1.9 billion dollars a year on propaganda & a sophisticated bot system that uses Ai to attack comments. So keep up the good work, their cowardly comments are contributing to the collapse of the Russia economy.

McDonald’s was a mind explosion for us in Ireland too in 1978. I remember being a passenger in my friend’s mum’s car back then driving 180km to Dublin to sample a Big Mac! Won’t cross their door today.
in '84 I worked at a salmon cannery on the Seward Peninsula in Alaska. You'd work like 16 hours a day, so they ran food service and it was actually pretty good food, for just I think $2 a meal. One day to show their "appreciation" they sent out to Anchorage for McDonalds and bought everybody Big Macs and fries. He made it in his life. As a snot nosed gen z Russian living in a provincial industrial city of some 500k people, I daresay you have to go to GREATEST lengths to be in the position of this man. @isimportantwhatever I agree with you. You've pointed out things that I hadn't pondered over. I still felt that way momentarily while watching the upload
it has been 15 months since Italy impounded the Scheherazade, a $700mn superyacht OWNED BY Vladimir Putin. Why is Italy paying millions to do maintenance on this superyacht?
The impounded craft are being maintained because there is a court process being perused so they can be sold & the money donated to Ukraine for rebuilding.
There is zero evidence that Putin owns the yacht. Once again, people start inventing things to fit their reality, like Putin being one of the wealthiest people on earth, yet he isn't even in the first 1000 on Forbes, which is the reference on the matter.
Yeah if I couldn’t seize, sell and donate the money to Ukraine, it would mysteriously sink. One could say the yacht also had a “fall out of a window accident”.
One honest Russian in the big wide world. Thank you Konstantin. The territory of Ukraine belongs to Ukraine. Peace to the people of Ukraine. God bless Ukraine.
I was already a fan of Konstantin. Now I love him even more. I think that if Konstantin can make a logical case that he is being targeted by Russian agents, and that his u-tube business is considered a significant threat to Russian goals -- just as he did to you in this interview -- he might be able to qualify for for political asylum in NATO countries including USA, UK, Canada, etc. Maybe he should start reaching out to diplomats and embassies. Also keeping detailed records of contacts with FSB and threats, etc. It sounds like things are escalating and that pattern might fit into the criteria of a country. And remember, political changes affect requirements for migration, even for humanitarian reasons. One country might reject all Russians one year, but accept some the next year.
yah I remember when hackers crash Joe blogs economic channel which was also very critical of the Russian economy and the war. Yah he was very technical about how the Russian economy was crashing and the Russian gov used hackers to crash his youtube channel . Yep that is a good sign he is telling the truth, and so is Konstantin big fan of his channel.
Always great to here from Konstantin. In 1992 during russias economic collapse the west sent them millions of pounds of food and medicine. We screwed up and missed a golden opportunity. We should have sent psychiatrists, millions of them.

The economy of Russia is relying on the war . Manufacturers have switched production to making armaments. They have lost their customers to other countries. The Kremlin is paying with the Reserve Fund. There's 300 billion dollars of Russian investment frozen abroad. Wages are high and there are price rises. The interest rate has gone up to 18% and it could be 20% soon. In Rostov the farmers are mentioning a decrease in harvest of 38%7 i
The economical growth was similar in 2021, so saying is now relying on war doesn't make much sense. They lost EU as customers but got Asia and India, which is several billions. The 300 billions "frozen" abroad is simply theft, is totally illegal and will hurt Occident more than Russia as no one will ever put money in. Yes, prices are higher in Russia since the war, but they are much higher in EU, so who is losing first? I live in France btw. I live alongside many people from China, which has many analogous features to the Soviet Union, but their outlook towards the West is very very different than Mr. Samoilov's. They are not at all in awe of the West, but rather often criticize it and compare it unfavorably to China, all the while moving their wealth and their families over here. I think understanding this difference could be key to helping navigate the geopolitical situation of the coming years.
I lived in China two years, this view is correct. They greatly dislike western social values (individualism, gay pride, etc) and see USA as a violent chaotic place but know the money is in US so they follow the money.
I remember the story about McDonalds opening the restaurant in Moscow. The managers had to teach farmers about growing lettuce that would stay crispy on hamburger sandwiches or something like that. I think they also showed them what particular potatoes to grow to make french fries.
Alan, I agree with everything you have to say but I have a very grave doubt that things will turn out the right way. Every morning I ride with two people that think this person is basically the savior who will solve all of our problems. With one of them I have at least got to see that this person is no savior and doesn't have our best interests at heart. He still likes this person because to him, immigration is the most serious problem. The fact that people are fighting to get here and by extension Europe obviously shows that the West is still the best option when it comes to being able to provide a good, respectable life for you and your loved ones. I was later told the Chinese males were rich party officials who were there just to look good and pretend to read english newspapers. even though they cant understand english,.
Hey filipino, 1) kindly ** DON'T ** wrongfully misuse about "looking chinese". You are a filipino, just be clear that you are a pinoy. 2) You were fortunate to have been to China back in the 90's - it was during a period of time where the Americans are doing their best to be in partnership with the Chinese. 3) The fact that you were in that hotel - you were most likely sponsored and be given a chance arrive in China, you cannot possibly have went there by yourself without a sponsor purpose.
@@worldview2888 hey what ever your are, and yah i really look chinese since I am Chinese Filipino , I was never sponsored I went there myself using my own money and lived there, you can do that, I dont know from what planet or alternate dimension are you from but people can go in and out of China in the 90s if you have the money and the visa to do so. heck hookers in guangzhou were cheap loved taking my USD. and HKD, the Chinese yuan was shit.
@@worldview2888 really, I remember when I was in China my Canadian passport got me lots of pussy. yah since they wanted to immigrate out of China. and go to a western China, heck they would even immigrate out if you had a Filipino passport China was that bad.
@@worldview2888 as for 'WRONGFULLY" misuse looking Chinese, I do look Chinese so I never misued anything. so get back to reality will you. your ignorance amuses me
