Insights from ASHRAE 188 Water Management Plan Performance Data 

A study of 100s of ASHRAE 188 water management programs (WMP) showed that the number of facilities fully implementing a comprehensive ASHRAE 188 WMP is shockingly low--but the ones that do are successful in reducing Legionella risk. In this video, Matt Freije discusses the WMP study as part of his presentation at the 2022 Emerging Water Technologies Symposium. Based on the data, he concludes that the premise of ASHRAE 188 is sound but to significantly reduce cases of Legionnaires' disease, comprehensive WMPs must become easier to implement, which will likely require more automation.
