I show you how fix or basically pair / repair your remote on an Insignia Fire TV (smart tv fire edition). Only your power button may or may not work be working before we pair / re-pair the remote. Hope this helps.

I tried 5 different YT videos today. the only button that worked on my remote was the power button. The step that worked was the pressing the back/left side/menu buttons all at the same time. Took about 30 seconds to repair. Grateful!!

No way! This is literally so helpful! I’ve had such a stressful week and I just wanted to come home and watch tv and the remote was broken. I literally just bursted into tears. Three button options worked for me, too! Thanks for explaining this better than Insignia did. The buttons on my were the same as yours, but with a couple of them in different places. Great presentation, easy to follow, and your calm demeanor when the first too didn't work helped me stay calm. I could tell that you were gonna show more options! 😂🎉

For the audience, disconnect the power cord from the outlet for 2 minutes and take the batteries out the remote for 2 min. Then replug and insert batteries back. This will also fix the problem as it did for me. Great vid.. Thank you.

I had the same problem with the standard remote. Changed the batteries then did the 3-button press for 30 seconds. Worked like a charm! Thank you for this information.

This was very helpful, for ages, I've had to use the app but it stopped working one day so I had no choice but to google a way to fix it. I came upon this video and the remote immediately started back working. Family and I are very happy that we can use the TV without using the app because they all said they were getting tired of the app

Omg ty!!!! My dog jumped on the couch around 5AM this morning and turned the tv on with the remote. Obviously scared the crap out of me! I turned the tv off and didn't think about it. The 3 button reset strategy worked for me. It was a bit painful to hold the buttons down for 30 full seconds worked. Thanks much. I had downed the smartphone fire tv remote app but that only worked if the remote could find my device. This prevented me from having to buy a new remote.

The step that worked for me was the third step - after the remote worked I went to update the remote, the tv was saying the remote cannot update so I had to "add" the remote as a new remote and that actually worked now my tv works again. thanks man.

I was so frustrated and wondered why the remote wasn’t working to all of this tv I just brought. The directions are not informative when it comes to troubleshooting and “pairing” the remote to the t.v. Thank you for your time and such an informative video.👍🏽

Thanks dude! The third option worked for me. My son took the remote from my daughter's room to try to use on his TV. They have the same TV but the boys burned out the batteries in their remote. It messed up the pairing. I was haviya hard time repairing and the last way I used (back+home+menu bottoms) would not work. Your suggestion was perfect for me. You are the best!

Bought my 65" Insignia FireTV around June 2021. It's November 2021 and my remote stopped working, except for the power button and the volume buttons controlling my sound bar (through the TV). I tried all 3 of your methods. The 3rd one seems to be the one to do the trick. Now I have a functioning remote. Thanks for the video. I didn’t have a pair button so I tied holding the home button with no luck so I moved on to the 3rd way and held all 3 buttons as shown in the video and that fixed the problem, my remote is working fine. Thank you for your help.

Omg thank you so much, my tv has been acting up a lot lately and it's gotten to where when I try to use the remote it has to be held a sertant way, eventually just a few mins ago I got done watching ice Age and only the power button worked, I found your video and my remote doesn't have a button so I tried the home button method, didn't work so I then tried the 3 button method and I accidentally let go at like I think 23-25 sec.. I was sad bc my fingers are weak but I tried using my remote and it worked!!!! IT WORKED!! And I didn't have to hold it in a sertant pose!!! Tysm!!!!!

This video was right on point. I will add that once you get the remote paired well almost paired. Go to the setting on the tv, controllers & Bluetooth devices, select voice remote with Alexa, add new remote, then pair the remote by holding the center of the circle. It then makes it 2 remotes. Delete remote 1 because that’s the old remote. If you don’t delete the old remote the remote will only work for literally one minute and then jumps back to the old remote. Then you have to go back and hold the three buttons to half pair the device again.
