Bought one a year ago. We use it for a meat freezer and an overflow storage for the inside freezer. We live in South Carolina. It is in the garage. It works fine. I wish it connected to wifi so I could monitor. Just bought a sensor to place inside. We'll see if it works.
Hi, can I ask you to remove the plate at the top of the door and post a picture? Our refrigerator convertible is missing the full cable so we do not have a light inside.
We have the 21 cu ft version, but it appears to have identical door bins (or "door trays"). I cannot figure out how to remove the door bins, even though they certainly appear to be removable as one sees in most such appliances. I'm afraid of breaking it-- could someone please explain how to do this? Lifting up on the empty bin is not the answer. Are there retaining tabs somewhere that I'm just not seeing?
What would it have hurt them to make the handle on the freezer curved instead of pointed? I now have all these 1" gashes on the top of my head when I use the crisper.
Made by Midea I purchased 2 from Lowes. 1 to be a fridge, 1 to be a freezer. Advertised as Garage Ready but when I opened a warranty request because the fridge was only cooling to low to mid 40s and it was set at 35 ( lowest setting ) They told me it needs to be in freezer mode or moved to inside house. Total BS the garage has been about 60F that is not going to keep it from cooling and it is advertised for extreme garage or basement temps. I like the unit and convenience of being convertible but the Midea company and their support is a joke.
I bought mine in 2021, freezer quit working and after contacting Best Buy to send out a repair man, they informed me that they don’t do repairs on this so future buyers beware!! Im very disappointed in finding this out and it’s 16 months old.
I bought one today for $599. I have the BB TotalTech membership and that gets me two years of warranty. Those with just a year of warranty, I'd recommend getting a Home Service Plan or something similar to cover appliance repair after the warranty period is over.
Same, I just tried a hard reset and kept it unplugged for 30-40 minutes. Plugged back in and nothing started, not fan or compressor. Then I did the factory reset. Lock button for 3 seconds, hold down Lock and + for three seconds. Some clicks and noises and it is apparently restarting in the freezer function. At least the compressor is currently running again. Will check in the morning. Have about 40 bottles of water and a few ice packs in their so it is filled with something right now.
You would press the lock button for three seconds to unlock the settings and then press the freezer/fridge to switch to your choice. Once done, just press the lock button for another 3 secs to lock the settings.
I hate this freezer, the door alarm doesn't continuously beep which my GE fridge does when I forget to close the door. So if the door doesn't close and you walk away or leave the room the alarm will go off for only like 2mins and will stop beeping afterwards so you won't know if it's still open until hours later when I get back to the freezer and then inside is like at 60F.
Did you store yours in the garage or in a home controlled environment? Even though it's rated for garage use I'm curious if it lasts longer inside vs in garage
