Love it. Make sure to do two coats for a true color. Also works great and can be matche to any of the Benjamin Moore colors. We end up using vintage Vogue it's a dark green looks amazing with cabinet coat two coats. Drys in 2 hours or less. Love this product in semigloss too

Thank you for the great reviews. Would you choose Cabinet Coat or Command for kitchen cabinets?

Sorry for the delay. I would choose Cabinet Coat over Command unless I was trying to finish a job asap. Cabinet coat takes about 4 hours longer between coats.

Thank you for the review, I plan to use it on on the new cabinets that I'm building. I wonder if you could recommend a good quality brush for cabinets? Thanks again, Jake

I used this paint in a semi gloss on an entire set of cabinets for a client 1 year ago. They were wood cabinets so i had to prime first with Zinsser Coverstain. This paint when dried and cured is awesome. Very very durable with a hard coat finish. Unfortunately the only complaint for me is when using a brush on vertical surfaces. I do not spray and only brush and roll. When using a brush "Prurdy Nylox" i had major issues with sagging and running. I put it on in 2 thin coats and it still sagged everywhere big time. I had to go back a fix it over and over. When i used a 3/16 mini roller it did just fine and wouldn't sag at all. It was so frustrating to use with a brush because of the sagging and running. I wanted to love this paint so much, and i did for the durability and hardness. It had a great finish. Unfortunately i had such a bad experience brushing it on the vertical surfaces that i can't use it again 😭

Thanks for that info. I just brushed some doors and trim with Insl-x and did not have any issues with drips, splatters, or runs. Maybe they have adjusted the formula since last time you used it.

ty for this update!! great timing as this was just recommended to me and I’m going to be using it on a lot of vertical surface, so the prior reply was about ready to discourage me from using it at all 😅

@@klappenbergersonpaintingha2933 Great vid. Would you recommend Advance or inslx cabinet coat for white colour trim? I've bought a gallon of Advance, thinking about using it up and switching to inslx for the upstairs trim. Advance produced a beautiful finish on downstairs trim but I'm a little concerned it might yellow over time (apparently has some oils in it)? I only recently heard of Benjamin Moore you can only get them in 1 store in Dublin, Ireland so I don't know much about this brand.

One of the great things about this paint is that, unlike PPG Breakthrough, they didn't remove the urethane when they lowered the VOC. This is why its still ultra durable when Breakthrough 50 VOC is falling apart. It has the shine and durability of Advance without the ridiculously long cure times -- and the darker colors in Advance almost never fully cure whereas the acrylic urethanes in Cabinet Coat dry pretty quick.

Hello, according to your experience between the two products of Benjamin moor Command and Cabinet Coat which one do you choose to paint the kitchen cabinets? Thank you

I watched your other cabinet reviews as well, definitely helpful! So how does this stack up compared to your other cabinet recommendations? I had considered BM Advance, but I was reading this actually hardens more, and as you point out, great at deflecting stains and oils. Seems like a winner, I don’t understand why there are such negative Nancy reviews on it? Also, I was curious did you have a primer recommendation? I’m working on wood trim with a darker stain, and also the honey-oak style cabinets with what seems like a thick varnish on them. Going for the lighter Alabaster and grey colors. Considering INSL-X STIX, or Smart Prime if it holds. If not, I’ll have to go with BIN or maybe a BM Fresh Start oil primer. I wonder if Cabinet Coat is good at blocking tannin bleed through?

This has been my go-to paint for all my woodworking. BM dealers do not do a good job at pushing this paint and instead they push the more DIY friendly Advance. For the pro, this is the better product IMO.

About to use this paint on my cabinets! Wish me luck!

That's interesting. Is "ever never ever" a triple negative. What do you like to use on kitchen cabinets?

Hahaha I am more on the brush and roll side of painting. I don't like spraying and this product is more on the side of spray application. I've had issues on different substrates with this product drying to fast though I do like the finish. I use Benjamin Moore's advanced and Oil Impervo. I don't get into cabinets too much anymore Because products have changed so much over the years with the VOC. Laws. I do value your knowledge of products and appreciate all the work you put in for your channel.

Thanks for this review. I have used the Advance product but you are so right. Recoat and dry time is ridiculous. It lays very flat though and silky smooth even after using a brush. How does the Cabinet coat lay down with brush? Smooth like Advance or does it tend to get a little textured? I do appreciate your feedback on this product. Also, I can't find it at Home Depot. Where do you get it at Home Depot?

Ben Moore stores sell and some independent stores as well.

How did you apply it? Is it possible to use HLVP to spray it or will a micro fiber mini roller do just a well. The thing with is the paint it is harder than the Advance paint plus it dries for recoat in 6 hours. Cabinet Coat tested at 2B where Advance was 6B in the Wolff-Wilborn test.

I have used this and a two part conversion varnish and to be honest, there is no difference. This stuff is bullet proof. I spray it using a Fuji Q5 HVLP system.

Does it roll without micro bubbling? I love BJM command but it micro bubbles when rolled with any mini roller, I've tried 12 different types, I only dont get bubbles in 4x base colors. Had the same issues with Scuff-X from time to time. Dont like advance because of dry time. Sprayed cabinet coat on 1 job a long time ago and it ran like crazy, probably wasn't used to it, but I've yet to roll any. Interested if you rolled any and how it turned out?
@klappenbergersonpaintingha2933
I don't ever roll Advance or Command. If I did, I would also backbrush.

Why would a DYI person with old beat up wood cabinets use BM Advance with the 16 hour dry time if he could use Insl-X Cabinet Coat Satin with short time and get on with his life?

If you spray, you're 100% correct.

Used to be a solid product but evidently quality control is no longer a concern for the manufacturer. In the last 2 years I've purchased several defective gallons that sprayed unevenly with pits and micro bubbles. In comparison, Sherwin Williams' Emerald urethane performs much better and it levels off nicely like paint should when it's sprayed correctly. It's also smoother when brushed/rolled. Don't waste your money and time with Cabinet Coat... it's pure garbage.
@timalan7406

Funny, I've had the same problem you described with Emerald urethane but no problem with Cabinet Coat. I use a Fuji Q5 HVLP to apply the paint, so equipment is not the issue.
