Im not a power scaling guy, but even a kindergartener would be confused as to how miles beat peter when he got no diffed by kraven and peter did that exact same thing to him.
Is it so difficult to imagine that peter is constantly holding back? Peter's spent ten years fighting people who disintegrate if they take a straight-up punch from him. Obviously Kraven would be a surprise when the most comparable person to him in size is the Kingpin, not Rhino. And if you're going to say that even with the black suit, Peter would go all out against Miles Morales, who's maybe a year older than he was when he started, you're buggin.
Peter didn’t WANT to actually hurt Miles it was the suit amping his anger and emotions….how is there any fair comparison because Miles was struggling to get peter to listen to him at all but he couldn’t beat him that was shown in the cutscenes and you can hear how peter hesitates and struggles with himself till he got just enough will power to reject the suit

I've finally found the sane Spiderman community! why is every other creator glazing this game so hard? the vibes r different with this one im pretty sure everyone can feel it its just not as sound as the first one in some pretty disappointing and surprising ways, I'm glad there's a sizable percentage of players that are angry about peters role, behaviour and general competence in the story, i honestly dk how i feel abt this game. (as a story at least)
Multiple things. It’s Spiderman. It’s a sequel to a good game. It’s extremely woke. All of these lead to people self censoring, excusing and coping to where people aren’t as hard on it.
Someone that doesn't try to sugarcoat the fact that this game was full of shit story wise or the fact that beyond some small innovations the entire game feels way too much the same and Peter is just another case of Jake Skywalker. Also I like the style of criticism you made for this game. Too bad we have another way-fu writer that wants to promote his dream character while butchering the other characters, sure he's passionate but in all the wrong ways.

I feel like modern writers don't understand that a female character can be strong without being as action focused as the other leads. Look at the original snow white for example. She actually got the dwarves to step up their act BECAUSE of her more feminine style. Just because you aren't a fighter doesn't mean you can't impact the story.
If the first game managed to bring in amazing emotions throughout the story and brings me to tears at the end, this one managed to dissapoint me at most turns, the only way to build up the supporting cast was by putting Peter down, and even then they underutilised Miles, but the ending is the worst thing, the boss fight lost all emotional value when you switch over to Miles, because there has been one conversation before, so its just two guys fighting only because evil vs good, and then Harry is kept alive for no real reason ruining the emotional inpact completely, so from a story standpoint it really dropped the ball and deserved to go 0/7 at the game awards Fantastic video by the way🙏
They intended to show the emotional conflict between Miles and Venom by making Harry be KKK levels of racist against black puerto ricans specifically. He would use every slur and culture specific criticism against Dominicans to exist. Then halfway through the fight Miles points out he is Puerto Rican, not from the Dominician Republic, with Venom saying "I know, I always knew" mirroring the scene where Otto reveals he knew Peter was Spiderman the entire time. Sadly this got cut alongside everything else in the 3rd act.

The biggest thing about the story with the symbiote and anti-venom is that. If they were going to have Peter wear it and give the "healing" properties with it. Then during the final scene with Peter saving Harry by healing him from the symbiote. He should've and would've cured him of his illness. Especially since he already rids civilians from symbiote possession. I would assume Peter would be curious as to what else anti-venom can do.
The suit also presents a problem for the next game. Peter has a symbiote now that even in the game he says “has all the power but not the bad influence” so how on earth do you have him get rid of it without it seeming too inorganic or without raising the power of villains to a level where Peter shouldn’t have ever won so the out it?
@chandllerburse737 he also with that suit is just as powerful as he is with the Anti-Venom suit. Symbiote Peter beat Kraven with no sweat, who himself beat every other villain of Peter’s and called it easy. How do you make a good villain without making him as strong as Venom?
@@VisForVindetta That is a good question to thinking about as unless Peter willingly gives up anti-venom in a hand wavy explanation that suits the plot and gameplay of the next game. It'll be tough to really have Peter continue using it without making the next main Villian very high in scale. Unless they do something like making the Green Goblin as strong as his Ultimate counterpart. I don't really see how Insomniac can really use anti-venom unless Carnage is involved.

i fully believe the theory that they actually wrote Peter to strike Standish as he landed into that sable tent (he literally even has an OBVIOUS PUNCH cocked back and ready to throw in the pose he’s shown flying into the tent with)-but it got such negative reactions during player testing/feedback that a producer made the call to change it to Peter simply landing in between them and having Standish bizarrely trip over nothing and somehow instantly KO himself on the floor instead 🤣 obv a TERRIBLE DECISION to make because then instead of MJ's angry reaction making sense ("you knock a man out, destroy my research…") and fitting into the whole arc of their relationship throughout the story, it’s just outright dishonest and wildly unfair/mean to Pete.
@@princssnasty The first game made a lot of weird writing choices with MJ. "I never got the whole hero with a mask thing" she said at the museum. Which like, makes no sense? MJ is supposed to be relatively smart, good hearted and used to be in a long-term relationship with Peter. You'd think if anyone would "get the mask thing" it's her. She then adds "to me a part of being a hero is showing everyone 'it was me, I did that!'". It really painted her as caring more about the glory of heroism than doing the right thing, even if the writers didn't intend that. The game also weirdly took her side a lot even though much of her behaviour was self-centered and unreasonable. She insisted on investigating a potential terrorist threat by herself cause she didn't want Peter telling her what to do, and she didn't even notify the police. But when crap hits the fan, MJ calls Peter for clean-up, and Peter never calls her out for it. Instead Peter has to "learn to see her side of things". I just don't like this MJ one bit.

See I knew something felt off after I played this game. The only thing I was sure about was how disappointing the miles vs Peter fight was and how the game clearly ended hinting at the green goblin being the next villain, also Peter’s most iconic villain, yet giving him to Miles to fight instead (or at least that’s how the ending portrayed itself to me). Like dude has no emotional resonance to the Goblin or Harry and they want to try and make Miles the main Spiderman? I would’ve been cool with it as the ending of the next game because it just makes more sense but doing it here is just kinda weird.
Peter is def gonna be the Main Protagonist of Spider-Man 3. I think his “retirement” is to say, his time is coming to end, which honestly, I do not like at all either
Peter will be playable in Spiderman 3. He might not be playable right away but he certainly will be by at least the halfway point. We're probably getting a Silk spin off game where she gets trained by Miles then the two of them are the protagonists in Spiderman 3. Once stuff starts getting crazy, Peter joins in. Then maybe he dies at the end. Wouldn't shock me.

I would also argue that they hate Venom as well. Every other villain is portrayed faithfully to at least some extent, here Venom is in name only and the interviews showed they did know better but decided to go this route anyway. If were to hazard a guess why its also tied to Miles. Venom in the comics did not stay a villain and was Spider-Man's original spin off character. (a popular one at that outsells Miles' books) The game's plot is actually one Venom tends to stop in their own comics, but more importantly portraying the character properly would require Miles to not be pushed up, not be the new "main" Spider-Man, as its a far more personal tale for Peter and Eddie, that requires a lot of character development for Peter, the symbiote (which did not start out as evil and only wanted to help Peter) and Eddie.
@chandllerburse737 You say that but then entirely miss the point and the fact both are spin off characters. If Eddie was brought in but things were kept the same it still wouldn't be Venom. SM2 Venom is Venom In Name Only. Yes, everyone knows that already. What did you think did not stay a villain was referring to? Their brief time where they fought Iron Man? What are you on about? I did not mention a single other anti-hero. The point was both were Spider-Man spinoff characters that require a lot of time and investment to do properly. Time that was clearly given to Miles.

Thank you for this video. I doubt the writers will ever acknowledge any of this for the sequel (watch them kill Peter or at best remove his power), but it's nice to see people actually pointing out the stupidity in this game.
To be honest. They dhould have donr one thing that could have made the boss fights so much better. Make you lose. As in like the Venom boss fight. Have the player struggle against Venom so much for long enough that you just lose to Venom. Miles eill do his best but you as the player eont get far down the healthbar while Miles is just losing. Then have the Spider-Men team up and fight Venom. It can be co op. Or you can have the ability to switch from them at certain points to get some attacks in. For example. Peter could get some licks in even throws a piece of the roof at Venom. But then he is grabbed by the throat and choke slammed to the ground. You switch perfectly to Miles who attacks Venom who frees Peter by accident and boom! The fight continues on. Maybe even tear their suits hard enough that healing won't repair the suit. Healing in the first place shouldnt repair the suit. But it is what it is. The fight should show that Peter and Miles are better foghting Venom together. Not separately. The duo would die before they individually beat Venom. But together. Together they are Stronger. Together they can Beat Venom. I dont really like the whole Anti Venom here. But do the same thing as in the game and Harry dies. Give Norman a actual reason to Hate Peter and Miles. Even blame them for not trying to save him

Just seeing the first 2 hours of the gameplay told me I shouldn’t get this game. Based on how Peter and Miles took hits. While Peter gets hit and either takes a bit to get up or get restrained, Miles bounces back quick and gets back into the fight. I don’t understand why the hell writers nowadays need to make characters people generally love look stupid and incompetent. Another example of this is technically in Boruto. Spoilers!!!! Naruto is fighting a character named delta who he should, in all intents and purposes, able to one shot. But he’s trying to get information out of her. “Cool great idea.” But all of that should immediately be thrown out of the way when Delta goes for one of your kids. Naruto out classes Delta in all stats except tech, because he doesn’t need tech. It’s frustrating seeing dumb decisions made for plot. This is why I’ll stand by that Spider-verse miles is still the best Miles. Doesn’t drag down character that people love. Still able to tell a story with new likeable people and showing characters being incredibly competent. Look at Peter B Parker!! Man is able to keep up with the other spider-people while carrying a baby and was able to sneakily grab miles while others weren’t able to.

A much better approach to the Venom transformation would’ve been something more like Spectacular Spider-Man. Have Peter explain the suit is sentient and dangerous, and tell Harry he’s going to get Dr. Connors to help get rid of it. He leaves the suit as Oscorp in the tank because it seems it’s the only place that can hold it reasonably. Harry agrees, clearly scared and distraught he has to stare at the thing that can save him. Peter leaves. Harry then has a moment talking to what he now learns is a sentient alien suit. He puts his hand to the glass, and much like Spectacular, the suit follows. This makes him believe the suit really wants him back because it likes him and not for revenge. It doesn’t make Peter look weak by getting knocked out in one move and it makes Harry look more like a addict to the suit than malicious in his anger towards Peter
Thank you for your video and pointing out the many, many... MANY problems of the game. You are right when you point the writing problems, the dialogues and the characters as a whole are so... boring. Spider-Man stories should always have energy, just compare to Spider-Man 1. I will never understand how Spider-Man fans can be cool with Spider-Man 2 and praising this mess. And yeah, I also can't say enough how much the "Why would this city need me when it has you?" is a pathetic line, so out of character and so much disrespectful for Peter. They undermined and humiliated him so much just because they wanted people to love Miles and to have him as the new main character... The funny thing, I also liked Miles, but after Spider-Man 2, I really don't want to hear about him because of how bad they handled the two. People must understand something very important : Miles in himself is not the problem. The problem is the lack of respect for Peter, the OG. Miles is just a variant of Peter, he wouldn't even exist without him. So, if they really want games with Miles as the main character, it's ok, but at the very least, don't nerf or undermine Peter Parker. Complete Peter story, let him deal with HIS problems and HIS enemies, and give him a satisfying conclusion. Basically, a Peter Parker trilogy. Then, you can have a satisfying passing of torch that feels natural, with Miles as the new Spider-Man who will live HIS own adventures and dealing with HIS own problems and enemies, not Peter's one. Because yeah, at the end of Spider-Man 2, they officially announced that Miles is the new main character, while also announcing that the next big bad is the Green Goblin... For the people who say "you don't understand ! Peter will be back !" Sure, we know that he will be back, be not as the main character in a story with his two biggest enemies, and even if I'm sure he will be playable, it will not be enough, and after Spider-Man 2, I know that he will be nerfed and undermined, again. It's not respectful for Peter who is the OG who always was strong and dealt with his own problems when he was the only Spider-Man, AND for Miles who can't have his own stories, only taking Peter's ones. On a side note, Cindy Moon as Silk will completely replace Mary Jane as the female hero. It will erase the problem of a badass female civilian nonsense. I just hope they will not make Cindy too overpowered for her very first appearance but I'm sure they will overdo it, like for MJ they will not give a shit. I hope they will not make me dislike her, she is my favorite Spider-Woman. I really hoped that Insomniac Games would be a series with two awesome character being Spider-Bros. But no. The "Be Greater. Together." was a lie. Peter Parker, the OG, is sacrificed for his variants. To bad for me I guess. I have to live with it. It's not easy as a 40 years old Spider-Man fan, but well... Insomniac lost my faith and my money. It's a bitter medicine but a necessary one, the "new normal" we could say.
I love this game still but they really did do some unforgivable, egregious things with the characters. The end ruins this version of Peter for me and I hope they can fix it in the next games

Now because they need miles to be the favourite/ main spiderman they take that trait away from him and it sucks. It was already established how Connors became the lizard and was stopped and now Peter is acting as if this suit is why he’s able to beat him the second time around?!! WHO WROTE THIS

Im glad someone actually put this all together in one video. Everything here was so apparent when i played through the game that it was so damn hard to enjoy the experience. Like peter was just destroyed in this game. To the point where idk if i even want to get the dlc or third game when they release. Conplete assassination of his character. Ive been saying this to a couple people but im happy to finally have other people who can see how poorly it was done. The first game clears so hard in every aspect aside from gameplay mechanics. But they cant save the story and writing, or the lack of post game content. PS, love the charisma and editing in the video. Looking forward to seeing more from you my guy :)

Thank you for actually explaining the problem! I've tried to look for the answer before, but I ended up getting opinions on people that haven't even played the game! I'm so glad you actually broken down the problems instead of blindly blaming it on politics like others do... In fact, you are one of the only people that can actually break down why a story's writing is bad or not, which makes me want to subscribe to your channel! If you keep doing this, then you've got a good thing going! (P.S. You don't have to, but a think piece on why Minecraft Story Mode's writing is bad would instantly win me over. I have tried to find specific answers to my question like this video, but the only thing I've found is that "the writing is bad." WHY?!? That's what I want to know! So basically the Arkham Knight of Spider-Man games. Perfect gameplay and a sleek new suit that makes you stronger than ever before, but a story that forgets everything about the characters.

Arkham Knight's story wasn't perfect by any means but it at least felt fully fledged out and felt like there was some form of effort put in. SM2 is just shallow
I have a few things to say/type. 1. This is a great video. You pointed out some stuff I noticed, but didn't really give heavy thought to. Sadly I've gotten used to characters getting dumbed and/or weakened down for the sake of the story at that exact moment. For example, look at how they ended John Wick Chapter 4. He didn't anywhere nearly as muffed up as he was at the end of Chapter 3, but they're saying he died from his injuries he got getting to, and from the duel. B. The only thing I kind of disagree with you about is why Peter didn't take the job immediately. Reason being the last time he took a job at/for a place that would change the world his boss/mentor became a Supervillain. Had another close friend/mentor also become a Supervillain. On top of that several people and his aunt died from a virus. All of which were largely because of Harry's dad, Norman. Trois. I noticed that the story around Peter, Harry, and the Symbiote was VERY similar to 2 other Spider-Man related movies. One of which you mentioned. 2 parts of it came from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The 2 similarities are Harry loses a parent to an unknown illness. They just flipped which parent died. Also that Harry became a villain because of Peter "refusing" to help cure him. You can probably guess the difference in this part. The other similarity comes from Morbius. Where the suit heals, and saves Peter from the poacher's poke, but then he doesn't want to give it back to Harry because of how dangerous it despite how desperately he needs it. Similar to how Michael didn't want to give his best friend Lucien/Milo the treatment because of the vampirism it causes.
on the peter job point. thats a fair point, they didnt show that kind of emotion from peter, like he wasnt suspicious, or asking questions to harry about norman to figure out if this is all an evil scheme, but i agree you could guess peter feels that way i would have just liked to have seen it.

I always knew this game was flawed - but why does the gameplay gotta go so hard. And getting rid of the gadgets was not a good play. So many things felt so forced when playing this game. Like why is MJ so important when its a Spiderman game about Spiderman😑

I had a bit of skepticism in the first game since silver sable managed to trap and kick Spidey's ass twice in a row despite him having spider sense and MJ just goes on and puts herself into a deathtrap and GETS MAD AT PETER for saving her AND PETER JUST APOLOGIZES TO HER INSTEAD OF STANDING HIS GROUND. I thought maybe I am just too oversaturated with modern "writing" and just imagine things, but second game... oh boy.
I'm not gonna lie... I was so caught up in the hype for this game that I never realized how incredibly bad the writing was lmao This game was still fun af to play, but honestly... I probably would have a hard time getting through this story with open eyes on a second playthrough
Honestly I'm now more excited for the future non-Insomniac Spider-man games. I had some issues with character writing in the first game but it was terrible in SM2, and the face changes of Peter and MJ exacerbate the problem. Besides a clean slate, what the next iteration needs is an injection of "keeping it real", and some rule of cool attitude. I think Sucker Punch is the no-brainer choice. While Insomniac produces high quality, Sucker Punch games just have more flavor and personality in my opinion, with high quality on top of that.
Because insomniac is woke. Instead of choosing to follow the miles from spiderverse that actually has a well written story and character development they decided to go the route of the original comics where he’s just a black Peter that’s perfect. Spiderverse miles > woke miles

To me, it sounds like the director (or whatever he is, I honestly couldn’t care less about this game) just wanted to get points or maybe his privates touched. I get wanting to tell your story, but there are cheaper ways to do that. It’s called writing a novel or a comic book, or even cheaper, a fan fiction that you post online. Not this. Not wasting millions of dollars. The devs are lucky that the game sold so well, because they’d be the ones losing out while the execs pocket what little they make back. Apparently this game’s sales were the best for the company by far.
Prediction: In the next Spiderman Game Miles will be the main character, Peter will be barely or not in it at all. But we will of course get an MJ Mission! For some reason Game developers really like to ignore gamers Feedback.

But even in the Spectacular spiderman cartoon, where Eddie was his friend, as soon as he threatened May's life, their friendship didn't matter Peter doesn't play around with May or MJ. Harry is a threat, nothing more or less, so Peter's reluctance will get people KILLED, INCLUDING his other loved ones. Plus its not like beating Venom's a$$ would automatically kill Harry, as long as the symbiote isn't removed. Venom is NOT invincible, so Peter would just have to find a way to keep him contained until he figured out a safe way to remove the symbiote But just STANDING THERE while MONSTER infects your girlfriend and threatnes the lives of EVERYONE ON THE PLANET is utter STUPIDITY and nothing less
Yo they honestly should have made venom fight spiderman as a boss in the mission where we get to play as venom to make it more believable that venom knocked out peter before he got the anti venom
I loved the game but after thinking on the game more I realized that this game actually was a slap in the face to Peter. He couldn’t even beat venom by himself and miles had to get the final fight. He couldn’t even beat a fridge 😂
Honestly I liked the story but you made some really good criticisms. The andor comparison feels unfair because Andor is one of the best modern shows made, and it’s hard to convey the same slight emotion in a game. Your criticisms about the character writing is true tho.
I'm glad you also think andor is one of the best modern shows, the comparison might be a little unfair but I do think games are capable of subtle story telling, they even had a smidge in this very game when Martin li had that really good facial animation when miles said "you don't know what you took from me"", games of this level are perfectly capable of it I think anyway
Glad to see other people loving Andor like I do. Also you don't need to compare it to Andor, just compare it to the first game's story. Because the first game's story was on Andor's level of quality writing-wise.

I guess I got past the black suit Peter vs Miles because after a certain point they’re both fighting against the symbiote. But I’ve only played through ounce so idk maybe I missed something on that fight I’m totally with you on everything else, the thing that saves it for me is how fun the game is to play. Nothing can beat the swinging and gliding combo for me right now

Just finished the vid and the fact you only covered the 3 MAIN characters and they are ALL THIS flawed, making the game as bad as it is ALREADY storywise Without even touching on Venom, Kraven, Norman, Black Cat and Yuri etc is genuinely WILD😭💀 I don't know whether to be ABSOLUTE ASTONISHED or Break Down in TEARS😭😭(this is a hyperbole btw) at how bad this story is. The director of this game sounds so self centered and just not humble at all, which makes him a bad writer at the end. A story isn’t about what you, the writer, wants, but what your characters with their individual lives, personalities and goals lead them to.
The fact that anyone is surprised by the story ending up this crappy proves that most "spider-man fans" are tourists. Miles Morales, just like Ben Reilly, was created with the sole purpose of replacing Peter. If you're looking at the MCU and noticing that all the Ironhearts, all the She-Hulks, all the Kate Bishops, all the Yelena Belovas, are being shoved in to tear down the heroes in order to prop up the newer-er, better-er, stronger-er heroes, and then see Miles as anything but the exact same thing, you haven't been paying attention.
Great video bro. This really opened my eyes to why I felt so weird towards this Peter. I thought I was being biased and him looking so different appearance wise was the reason why he felt so disconnected to who he was in the first game, but damn they had the character writing thrown out of the window for this game.
This is incredible editing and such a well thought out video how do you only have 848 subs??? Keep this up and this channel should def blow up (fantastic comic relief too) especially because every point you make is spot on 2018 was FAR superior to this game. I'm just surprised how no one goes into how awful Peter looks compared to last game and how ugly they made MJ compared to 2018. So much of this game made absolutely no sense and it was a huge let down, and if Miles is the new Spiderman I'm out on the next game.
You pointed out a good portion of the problems i have with this game's narrative. The gameplay would be good, If this wasnt a Spiderman game. How can Peter Parker do eletrical jumps and impulses without ever touching the ground or trhowing a web? There are só many unSpiderman things in the gameplay that make me feel this isnt a Spiderman game.
I know for a fact that Miles beating Peter with the Symbiote is meant to be an allusion to how, much like in the games, Miles has that “Venom Shock/Touch” ability that Brian Michael Bendis created him with as a means to “make him a different kind of Spider-Man”. In the process, it became this sort of Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Card for whenever Miles is in over his head and can easily win by using it. For example, he “beat” Nightmare (son of Mephisto) when the entirety of the Avengers couldn’t in Spider-Man #1 [2015]. JUST BY TOUCHING HIM! Bendis justified it as “Miles having that edge the others didn’t” (not his exact words) and wrote off valid criticisms with “it’s canon, so cry about it” 🤷🏽♂️ So Insomniac, much like Marvel Comics themselves, VERY MUCH HATE SPIDER-MAN and can’t help but to display it at every turn (in the mainstream continuity) except for stuff like the current Ultimate Marvel iteration 😒
Man. Great video. I haven't seen anyone make a review of this game that voiced almost all my thoughts on it. I've seen many reviews too. Even criticisms of the game have missed the point in my mind. The gameplay/traversal is phenomenal and I really really enjoyed playing, which made experiencing the story and witnessing the portrayal of Peter even more painful. Thanks for presenting these criticisms in a smart, concise, and entertaining way. Hopefully more people see this and also someone in charge of narrative at Insomniac sees this and actually takes it in instead of just brushing it off as "negative" like people seem to do with criticism of this game. My biggest worry is in Spiderman 3 we continue this trajectory and character assassination of Peter. If you go back and look at the first game this was nonexistent, he came across as a competent, smart, strong, and self assured Spider-Man, I'd like this back. I'll even take extra nonsensical MJ missions if they fix Peter lol. Great video man, appreciate you voicing your own honest opinion , it was refreshing when compared to most reviews and recaps of games nowadays. I'll be subbing.
@@SavageJarJar I’m sure someone’s made some decent edits of him. That said I just don’t feel right calling Martin, Miles’ greatest enemy when we’ve seen Peter fight and interact with him way more. It’s a matter of showing and not telling. Miles redeeming his greatest enemy honestly applies to Phin. She’s fought him multiple times. Almost destroyed Harlem. She knows his identity, almost killed him multiple times and finally after their last battle she sees the error of her ways and sacrifices herself to save the city. Plus Li indirectly kills his dad. Jeff sacrificed himself to save Norman. He just happened to be collateral damage.

@chandllerburse737 I agree, that's why I think she's the weakest out of the bunch. I think I'm just looking at it from a meta perspective. Like I get contextually how Miles has beef with Martin. It falls apart when I hear the phrase "greatest enemy". Martin and Miles don't fight or even interact enough for me to call him, Miles' greatest enemy. It feels like a case of telling and not showing. Compared to Phin who fought and beaten him more. Almost killing him several times. Plus Peter having a harder time with other villains just means Li is just one of his enemies. Not his greatest. I think It would've helped if Miles had an entire game around his dynamic with Li or at least a DLC storyline that was its own self contained story.
I don't personally agree with some points you make, like the Miles one being "He doesn't have any flawss" when Martin Li escaped he always tries to avoid all his responsabilities with the Collage Easey and school responsabilitys because he was feeling in constant danger that Martin Li would also attack Mile's mom and the reason that his mom doesn't freak out about being spiderman its becouse she had already know in the last game. But thats just what I am seeing in the moment. Because I didn't finish the game, i played it in my brother's house so im still finishing it. Even so, i still really like the story from what i played (Also srry for my bad English, I'm from Spain) And really love your editing

Insomniac making harry agent venom is the most brain dead thing I've seen. Flash is Agent venom, that was his arc. Writters nowadays can't seem to be able to bring up characters without putting down other characters. Writers have drastically gone down in quality quality

Also the Peter vs Miles thing, honestly the excuse that Peter is "Holding back" is pointless. Imagine that you are fighting against MYKE TYSON, and Tyson doesn't want to kill you, does that mean that you can beat MYKE TYSON? WHO IS ALSO BEING POSSESED BY AN STEROID RAGING ALIEN MONSTER? What SHOULD have happened is that Peter COMPLETELY smokes Miles in such a violent and unfair way that makes him snap, kinda like "Holy crap... i almost killed him, what is wrong whit me?!?" Imagine the GoW 3 Kratos QTE against Zeus. You know the one, were Kratos literally beats Zeus to a pulp so damn hard the screen turns completely red. Omniman vs Invincible tier of unfair. I felt lied to again after buying this game. I wanted Peter Parker Spiderman and thought that's what I was paying for. Instead, it's Miles and MJ's story built disrespectfully on the ashes of Peter Parkers legacy. They tore him down in incredibly dumb ways as you pointed out (great content btw). I paid for one thing, got another. Because of this, I won't be giving Insomniac my money for the next Spiderman game.
Tis why I'm conflicted on buying this, on one hand there could potentially be the best Spider-Man gameplay there ever is (even though you can't piledriver baddies off a skyscraper like in 2 or eat people as Venom like in Ultimate) But on the other You get everything you just mentioned Nah i ain't buying this, I'll either get it if it's free or below 20€, killed my hype for 3 even, what a mess Probably the only video I'll like that's based on this game, you've said it all so well i don't even know what is there more to be said. So everything this man said is correct and we should be thanking him. I kept telling people that this story was not perfect. It was actually probably the worst story you could have written. Here's how I thought they should have done it personally. We'll start with Peter. This game should have focused on Peter and his relationship with people after the death of Aunt May he should be a mess. He's pushing people a bit more away unless they're like superpowered so him and miles have gotten closer but him and Mary Jane have gotten farther apart which makes a lot of sense Miles the biggest problem with Miles is something that even affects him in the comics. He's too strong. He doesn't need all these powers. He doesn't need all these abilities to be as broken as they are. It should actually make him even out with Peter. Not be stronger than Peter. That doesn't make f****** sense exactly. Why would they need Peter if they have miles? There's plenty of ways you could have fixed this. Maybe that his new electricity is messing with the gadgets and he's putting up so much energy that he's not able to use the same gadgets Peter can use that way Peter can keep his gadget wheel and miles can have his electricity powers and they even the f*** out Last but not least actually yeah at least Mary Jane cut that s*** out. Oh my god cut that s*** out. Please stop trying to make her a superhero stop trying to make her what was Lane. She is not those things. The fact of the matter is Harry had superpowers and we never got to play as Harry before he was venom. That is what the crazy part is. Imagine a whole section where oh hey, they're experimenting on his powers and so they go out and have him start fighting crime and he starts in mimicking. Peter a little bit saying I kind of like how you move around like this and so the suit lets him Nicky Peter's abilities
Agreed also extremely disappointed that yuri was criminally underutilized in this game. Hopefully dlc will shine more light on her charecter she was my favorite in spiderman 1. However in spiderman 2 she just seems like bargin bin batman. I do like the costume though and that she become a vigilante but it barely got any recognition. I know she got more recognition in the dlc of spiderman 1 but I wish she had more of a puropse for her to kill bad guys. It just seems like inconsistent filler I mean yuri was a incredibly important charecter in spiderman 1.

29:20 that's actually not true. Peter and MJ were able to get out the suit after being weakened by loud frequencies. Miles used to bell to help Peter get out the suit and Peter throughout the entire bossfight used the metal pipes, Car alarms, and gadgets against MJ
Told my friend the exact same thing. Its hard for me to root for everyone when spiderman 1 gave us the best story for Peter/Spiderman. No problem with miles himself, love him since his first debut, but the story Insomniac has for Miles makes no sense half the time. They have him in more of a spotlight and him being a better spideman, its wierd since every now and then he can beat rhino but no the thinkerer. And why does peter need MJ, Why does he need Miles, Why does he need ganki. Bro was the one that made a whole suit to fight otto in a matter of minutes by himself, he is able to fight the Sinister by himself(2 v 1 better yet), saved NYC in one night without other heroes; so why does MJ get mad when he takes a small break and is able to fight out grown ass professional hunters, or miles who is inexperienced in the matter of a year or 2, or ganki when peter is one of the smartest characters in Marvel. Other than that Venom not being able to be hurt by fire is mad dumb by itself
