Cool just wondering because not a lot of people like this game I know just a few people that like it I kinda like it because the gameplay but everything else is just shit except for the story it is kinda interesting at times but the dialogue was absolutely a shit show.
Its a darn good game, and as someone who's played every single DMC, perhaps my favorite overall. Its between this and DMC1, imo. Although, I'll take me some Bayonetta over a DMC any day of the week.
I haven't played the game, but I am pretty sure it contradicts stuff like the lore of the world, Dante's and Vergil's backstory and a lot of other things. Idk
The reason its not a true prequel is that it directly contradicts a bunch of lore elements for the franchise. Its an Alternate Universe, which is good enough for me.
Although saying that DmC: Devil May Cry wasn't received well by the fans just because it was different is over simplifying things. Ninja Theory offered this story and its subpar characters as the definitive versions, and acted like the originals were low art. I think another reason was a few controversies from some press releases before launch which made some people make up their minds on the game before they played it.
Really out of all the Devil May Cry games you choose the reboot, you guys have a choice to play Devil May Cry 1-4 but you no you choose the worst game out of the series sure the gameplay was kinda cool but the dialogue sucked and story wasn’t so good but it was kinda interesting at times and Dante in the reboot is not the true Dante that we DMC fans all know and loved
I don't think you've actually played DMC2 if you're defending any aspect of it. Not only are there basically two paragraphs worth of dialog in the whole game, but its not very good either. I'd argue Dante trying to be wordlessly cool and stoic in DMC2 is cringier than anything in the reboot.
First Second I agree and I am sorry that I sound like I am defending Dmc 2 and yes I know the voice acting was bad in Dmc 2 and Dante was weird and for that I apologize it just that I don’t like the reboot for oblivious reasons and Dmc 2 was not good but not bad it has some good aspects and some bad aspects like every single video game ever.
There's some cool art ideas in DMC2 and that's about it. The levels are enormous and barren, the enemy variety is lower than DMC1, the combat has less options than DMC1, and the story just doesn't do anything interesting with its premise of an evil business man trying to rule the world through demon powers. Every boss can be defeated by just shooting them the entire time. DMC2 is a boring slog of a game, which is perhaps the worst criticism one can receive when you're part of a franchise known for being cuh-razy. It isn't out and out "bad", but it fails to be interesting on every single front, and that's arguably worse than being a broken or buggy game.
