For people with negative comments: everyone is allowed to have a bad day. We should consider however that Insomnium might not always have enough time to practice together. For example, Ville was a reader in evolutionary microbiology in York and now he is a Professor in Microbiology back in Finland. I am sure you understand the demands of an academic career. Enjoy the music !
The thing I want to point out though is that Niilo and Markus (Hirvonen of course) did a phenomenal job. The drums, bass and main vox are absolutely on point. All fault lies with the guitar players here. Less alcohol and less headbanging might be something to be considered.
I was at the concert and that was the gig that brought me into the band. Isn't it ironic? It was over 30° hot in this arena but there was a cool breeze in front of the stage. It was nice to watch the band, with a cool beer in my hand. They were working hard and I've enjoyed it really.
Guys, give them a break, must have been a bad day- we all have them. I just saw them live a few days back, and I have seen numerous live performances of this on RU-vid. They are epic live! Plus they are the nicest people- I ran into Markus (drummer) after a show and he allowed me to enter their bandwagon with Vanhala dancing inside. So cool!
i'´m seeling them live in 2 weeks and i sincerely hope that this will not happen again, i love insomnium and i love While We Sleep as an opener, but damn.....practice the fuckin' leads haha :D
im not sure but as i know, this band is not their 1st job, they have professions, they just trying to be have fun and have a great show to audiences when its time to play with the band, its pretty ok to make mistake. cheers from turkey
A live show is about energy and kick ass with the audience. It's not about sitting at home and counting mistakes while listening to some poor audio mix.
@@pierphurba3928 Actually I saw them a year ago and they were pretty much on point the entire show. Great energy but also great accuracy. Phenomenal show.
The guitarists sucked bollocks in While We Sleep, but the drummer was so thight and on point. He should reallyget more praise for the amazing job he's doing, it's even worse playing with a bad drummer than a bad lead.
Why Markus is not responsible for all lead guitar in live performances? Sounds like Ville is not able to sing and play lead guitar lines at the same time =/
Less Headbanging, more feeling for the Leads would be very much appreciated here by me, Mr. Vanhala and Mr. Friman :P i'm seeing Insomnium in 2 Weeks from now, and i hope that they get the new stuff like While We Sleep done decently ;-) the last time i've seen them, everything was perfect....but One For Sorrow has been out there for a while at that time, i guess it just needs some time till it clicks live with the new stuff...
So I don’t know this band outside of this album (which I’ve loved for the last 4years), but holy flaming shitballs do they suck live. The bass player/heavy vocalist and the drummer are solid as though. But man, that lead guitarist is fucking disastrous live hahaha
I LOVE THIS BAND! But shame on the lead-guitarist... Ive seen them so many times live and thank to the gods, while we sleep (and the other epic songs) sounded well! I really think the guitarist was drunk in this video :-/ Ive NEVER heard him play so horribly! :-/
I know multiple people who have seen them, normally they're tight and put on a good show, yeah this wasn't acceptable, but bands normally get burned out by the end of a tour.
quite possibly he was having a hard time it looks like it was a Hot summer day and drinking yes and notably during ephemeral there was a guitar issue, rhythm guitar cut out badly for a while and it had to be fixed. I have seen Insomnium in Cleveland Ohio 4 times and never have I heard any errors. It was just a bad day. I have seen multi million dollar performers like TOOL fuck up way worse live than this. I was highly disappointed when I saw TOOL.
