Kevin Whately, star of Inspector Lewis on PBS's MASTERPIECE Mystery, on the role of music in his own life, and what John Thaw might of thought of Whately's daughter becoming an opera singer.
Cool! I was hitchhiking in England and I sang Country Roads as I walked through England. Glad that your daughter is a singer. I watched all of Morse, Lewis, A Year in Provence, and some of Endeavor. I subbed (supply taught) a music class one day in Waterloo, Iowa and taught the ten year olds the MORSE code part first then the theme song and they GOT it! Thanks for your work that I have enjoyed so very much! Cheers!
Sorry, but Whately was great as a sidekick with Thaw. I hated his "overacting" in Inspector Lewis, honestly it was sometimes quite embarrasing to watch. Just my humble opinion. ; )
I actually prefer the later series to the first - probably because I saw it first. I've just started Morse, and it's weird seeing A different younger Lewis. But no one starts out with all of that experience, and it is interesting to see the things that he picked up from Morse.
