Everyone is wondering whether the Insta360 EVO is worth getting. That's what I address in this video, where I discuss how it is different from 360, and what its strengths and weaknesses are. Re the Lenticular lens accessory / app, it is MOPIC 3D (sorry for the wrong title)
Interested in the Higher Frame rate for 4K, The mirage is only 30fps and it is not stable, It drifts left and right a bit and overheats after 5-7min indoors. I can get good Videos with the mirage but I have to do a lot wrangling and after fixing audio I set it to 60fps Optical flow. I would shoot 5.7k 30 for videos when subject does not move a lot and 50fps 4k when I have more movement and stabilize on a gimbal like I do with the Mirage
@@waldtradition1166 Thanks buddy! Good news - YES you can record on the EVO while charging! :D It is currently out of stock, but you can sign up to be notified when it is in stock here: www.insta360.com/sal/evo?insrc=IRPUI4C
Hi, i just got the camera its impressive. But i want to know if it is possible to record in 3D but without the 180 degrees? Meaning the 3D would be fixed in one direction, you can't look right or left. Kind of like when watch a 3d movie in theaters.
Hey there Henry! Congrats on getting the EVO! EVO and Vuze XR don't have that feature, but Qoocam does. It's possible to use Premiere to do it with EVO or XR but it will be a bit tedious. Essentially you have to import the 3D as 2 layers cropping one as left eye and the other as right eye, then use gopro reframe on each layer.
@@360vroomers hi, thank you! But how come the qoocam can do it, but not the insta360 evo. I mean, both film with two 180 cameras. Does the qoocam have an extra setting in the app to have a fixed 3d view? Meaning 3d but without the 180 option of being able to look up/down and left/right?
360Rumors because I want to basically film a 3d video like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ECLJKVxwNwM.html In the video, the 3d effect is there, but notice how if you look right/left or up/down, the image stays in the same direction.
Hi Henry. Qoocam can export its 3D180 in several ways: equirectangular (VR viewing), fisheye (circular fisheye), cylindrical, or rectilinear / perspective (which is what you are looking for). Unfortunately, Vuze XR and EVO don't have a function for exporting their 3D 180 videos as rectilinear perspective.
Maybe i should have asked: is there a reason you want it to be SBS 3D instead of VR180? Depending on your objective, there may be other ways to achieve it...
Hi Henry. Evo is slightly sharper than vuze. See here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EPOVLOjwn5Q.html But note that the tripod hole of evo is off center. If you want to mount on rc car, vuze xr may be easier for that.
@@360vroomers hi, yeah that tripod hole is an issue, but i will find a workaround. Only issue is if they will make a case for it soon, because my rc car can easily flip over. The company is sending me the insta360 evo for free this week. They want me to test it on my rc car and post videos. I'm mostly interested in the 3d feature, since i already have a fusion for 360 videos.
@@henrytherobot woohoo congrats! If the camera is mounted sufficiently far back then it should be ok even if the car flips. This also has the advantage of making vr viewing more comfortable even if the car is moving
@@360vroomers is it 2880x2880 (i.e. HSBS) in 3D mode like the Vuze XR? or is it better? do you have raw footage pre-stitching available to download? and how does it perform in low light?
I got my EVO this week. So far every picture and video I've taken with it has either my fingers, knuckles, tripod, or monopod in the lower frame. I sure hope you're cooking up a video with accessories for this bad boy. Also, keep up the good work.
Thanks Roy and congratulations! To avoid seeing those, you can use a selfie stick with adjustable head. I dont have an accessories video but if you dont have a vr headset yet for viewing evo, i just posted a video about that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SgEkyZ4HTEQ.html thanks again!
Hi MrPlaneTalk! Yes you can use a VR headset such as Google Cardboard to view EVO or Vuze photos and videos. For example, you can upload your videos to youtube and then click on the google cardboard icon to view them. There are other ways. If you don't want to upload to youtube pls let me know what phone you use (android or ios).
@@360vroomers Thanks. - I use an iPhone 7 currently, but will probably be buying an iPhone Xs soon. - I am also curious about the video when viewed in the headset, either an Occulus or Google Cardboard. It seems that if I view some content on RU-vid that is 3D, it just splits the image into two side by side "square" images, essentially splitting the iPhone display into two halves. This creates a 3D effect, but crops the image into a square, which is kind of weird. My desire would be to have a 16:9 or 16:10 viewing format, so it has more FOV natively, when just looking straight ahead in the headset. I hope this makes sense. Is there a solution in the 3D camera world where the images when viewed have a wider field of view? Please address if there is a difference with Oculus vs Cardboard?
hello thanks for the video, i have few questions: 1)did Evo fixthe stitching issue (seen on your video at minute 5:15) ? 2)is it possible to do bullet time video with the Evo (like the One X)? 3) will i be able to see 3D video with google cardboard or other such VR goggles? 4) is it possible to use it for extreme sport? i can't find any action/waterproof case out there
Hi Yaron! Great questions! Here are the answers: 1. Yes with dynamic stitching. see here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X7-yjpiI-sw.html 2. No there is no bullet time mode, but you can use a bullet time handle and shoot at 4k50 or 3k100, then turn on direction hold. 3. yes you can use google cardboard or any headset to watch EVO's 3D 180 videos :D
@@360vroomers Thank you for the info, I'm really debating which one to buy, either the ONE X or the EVO, about the ONE X everyone says its great, but the Evo have it's benefit of 3D, can you spot all the differences between the two? in term of application (besides the bullet time option)? thanks again!
I totally agree. It is a really good vr180 camera. I think there just wasnt enough demand. You can get Vuze XR instead which has similar quality although the app doesnt have as many features.
Hello Mic, I'm into lots of sports: running, mtb, offtrail skiing, kayak.... So, does the EVO have the same options and specs of the One X ? Merci beaucoup 🇨🇦✌ Keep up the Great vids 👌
Salut Guy! TBH i think One X would be better for you. For example, One X will have a new Venture Case in April. Evo has no waterproof case... In 3D 180 mode, EVO's stabilization will also not be as good as One X. So I recommend One X instead. In case you haven't seen it, here's my One X review: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3rXUftKG2HQ.html Let me know if you have any questions! A bientot!
What about battery life? Why is nobody talking about this, is it that bad? Can it run from external power (charge while recording) With the built in battery this seems like an obvious question that nobody is talking about or perhaps just avoiding.
Hi Chris! The reason no one has talked about it is because all reviewers were rushed. We got the review unit just a few days before launch. Most reviewers took the easy route and did a very simple video with little analysis. I spent more time, but unfortunately my video became late. Anyway, my impression is that the battery seemed to perform a bit better than one x but all I have so far is anecdotal evidence. (I could run it down but that's not real world use.) The day I shot with it, i shot several videos from the car and plus the hyperlapse. When I got to the part where i was talking about the camera, the battery looked like it was at 50% or less so I plugged it in while talking about it. The rest of the time it was not plugged in, and it didn't run out of battery. Yes the camera can be operated while plugged in.
Be kind prompt, at a photo in HDR three files (normal, light, dark) are created how to connect them in one? Будьте добры подскажите, при фото в HDR создаётся три файла (нормальный, светлый, тёмный), как их соединить в один?
Hi Andre! Yes, the Insta360 EVO app can combine the 3 HDR files into one. On desktop, you need to use Photomatix HDR or other HDR app. I hope this answer helps!
Is a bit of time I have an idea. It is possible to apply/create a prism on insta360oneX that simulate two cam like EVO? In addition Evo software can manage images created by 360oneX created in this way?
Hi Mic, thanks for the review. I wonder if this Insta360 EVO able to take 180° photo, and if so what's the resolution for the 180°? Because I can't find any info for the 180° photo review. I'm thinking of using the 180° mode for my street photography (stereoscopic image)...
Thanks Calvin. Yes EVO can take a 180 photo . The 180 photo is 3040 x 3040, but you don't see the entire image at once. Instead, in VR you are effectively seeing only a crop of the whole image. So the effective resoluton is lower, somewhere around 1080p.
@@360vroomers Hi Mic, so is it means that it will have two 3040 x 3040 (around 9 megapixel) JPG that I can use to print out? Or both Left and right photos are in 3040 x 3040? Don't you have a sample 180° JPG file to share with (I know is too much to ask) 😅! Thanks!
360Rumors, What a great review! I've been looking at this camera (the Insta360 EVO) and also the Insta360 One X. I want to shoot both 360 and the 180 3D shots, so of course the Insta360 EVO is the obvious choice, but I was wondering. If you have the Insta360 EVO, is there any reason to own the One X? If I went with the Insta360 EVO, would the 360 shots have the same quality as the One X? Thank you again so much for this review! I look forward to watching more of your videos in the future! vgv
Thank you very much Videogame Vegas! Re owning both, there are three reasons: 1. One X has an optional waterproof case and a Venture Case (coming soon) 2. If you need to record for a long time, One X has a removable battery. But it is also possible to plug the EVO into a powerbank 3. One X has much better stitching (if you are OK with EVO's 360 mode stitching then you can disregard) I hope this helps! Thanks again and I will have more tutorials and reviews coming up! :D
360Rumors, Thanks so much for the info! I've been shooting 360 pictures and video on the original Samsung Gear 360 (the orb version). It was so amazing to me at the time that it also got me to buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone to use as a viewfinder for the camera. Pretty expensive proposition, but well worth it! I loved the fact that each sensor on the Gear 360 shot 15 megapixels (total of 30MP for still photos), but was surprised to hear that both the EVO and One X have better results using only a total 18MP. I guess newer technology trumps megapixels. And I also hope it won't take hours to stitch 5 to 10 minute videos like it does with my Gear 360. I've heard the technology has gotten better since 2016 :) I've been wanting to upgrade for some time, and got really excited watching your video. The thought of shooting 3D IMAX-like photography and video in VR is SO COOL! I may pick up both cameras (I do like removable batteries like I have with the Gear 360), but it sounds like the EVO and One X shoot the same picture quality (minus the stitching of course). I can now confidently buy the EVO, knowing I'll have the best of both worlds without sacrificing quality. I'm thinking of picking up Lenovo's Mirage Solo VR Headset to view my 360 photos and videos, but I'm not sure if it'll support the 3D aspect of the content shot on the EVO. Don't get me wrong, I love watching my 360 content on my Samsung VR headset, but my S7 Edge phone gets really hot when doing so. I've heard Lenovo's stand alone headset is pretty amazing, but I just hope it can display 3D VR content as well :) I want to really thank you again for putting together this review and for taking the time to message me. The EVO is a definite buy for me now, and I can't wait to take it to Las Vegas and go 3D CRAZY! Have a great one! vgv
Due to the distance between the lenses in 360 mode it's a bit of a compromise, so I see the EVO as a "VR180 camera with a 360 option". Which is fine, because I'm buying it primarily as a VR180 camera.
I read in a facebook comment by Insta360 CEO that adaptive stitching will be available on the EVO in early April :) Good news, might help with some of the stitching.
Hi Mic. I bought the EVO based on your great reviews, thanks!. Only problem is that I want to be able to edit the 180 videos after I I run them through Insta360 Studio, then I use Spatial Media Metadata injector to make it playable on RU-vidVR. Can you please explain how I can edit the videos. Thanks!
Thank you very much PlanetVR! Congrats on getting the EVO! Don't worry, editing VR180 videos is not so complicated. After you stitch them in Studio, then just import the stitched videos into your preferred video editor. From there, you can trim, add videos together, add music, etc. If you want to add titles, it's going to be tricky unless you have Premiere. In Premiere, you add a title the same way as usual, except that you apply the Plane to Sphere effect. As long as your sequence is correctly set to stereoscopic side by side, then Premiere will automatically make the title VR180 as well. Use the Plane to Sphere parameters to reposition the title with pan / tilt / roll (use stereo disparity to move it "forward" or "backward" in 3d). To preview the 3d effect, use red/cyan anaglyph glasses and turn on the anaglyph option in the VR Video settings. BTW if you have premiere, you can open the unstitched INSV file directly in Premiere. Just install the insta360 plugin for premiere by checking the box for the plugin when you install insta360 studio. And in Premiere, you don't have to add metadata. Premiere will add the metadata for you.
@@360vroomers Thanks Mic for the detailed response. I would like to start out with something free first. Have you ever used Veer 360 Editor, folks seem to like it and say its easy to use, Its free but it seems to only be able to edit 4K??
Good question! Vive and Rift resolution is not super high but it is high enough even for 8K. Interestingly enough, for 360 video and phot, Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR (and probably Oculus Quest) arguably look better than Rift or Vive because they have higher resolution. Also, Gear VR does not have the "god rays" effect. On the other hand, the benefit of Vive and Rift is higher refresh rate of 90fps vs 60fps for Gear VR and Oculus Go.
Wow, it seems nice! 😎 I remember when a couple of years ago I was playing around with a pair of Kodak Pixpro to turn that 360 rig into a VR 180 setup. Now it's such a great step forward! 🙂
Thanks Gaba! Yes i think cameras like EVO and Vuze XR, plus improvements to Adobe Premiere software, make VR much better than before. Now the only thing that is needed is for more people to use VR headsets! With Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest, that might happen...
Sorry with EVO and Vuze software, it is not possible to export VR180 as SBS 3D video. Qoocam can export to SBS format, but Qoocam resolution is only 4K.
brought the evo to capture daily life with my newboran baby and when I need water prove or lost the battery of evo maybe still using my old insta 360 one

@@XiangFei I'm so glad your mum loved the EVO's 3D 180 video! I've been trying to convince my parents to try it... Their reaction is always "oh i get dizzy with those headsets." sigh!
Hi Sonic Snail. ok but if i do that, it is equirectangular format, so the tops and bottoms will look stretched. are you ok with that? If you have anaglyph glasses that is another possibility to view without VR headset.
@@sonicsnail71 yes youtube accepts 3d 180 :D. BTW Facebook does too but you can only view in 3d with an oculus headset... :( Veer.tv is another alternative
@@360vroomers Can you recommend the easiest way to convert 180vr video to SBS video without tops and bottoms stretched? It looks like need to apply lens correction to fisheye view and add a crop. I think it's a good idea to add this format export feature to EVO desktop app.
@@brazhnikov Qoocam's app has a built-in feature to convert the video into SBS without fisheye distortion. But Vuze XR and Insta360 EVO don't have such a feature. i can request insta to add it
Hi DJ. No not really. If you watch Insta360 One X photos and videos through a headset, you will get a 360 view but it is flat, like looking at a wallpaper. It is 'nice' but it won't fool your senses into thinking that you are some place else. If the "being there" experience is what you are looking for, a 3D 360 or VR180 camera is much, much more powerful for that. On the other hand, One X is better for action, overcapture etc.
@@sonicsnail71 It depends on what quality you want. If you want very basic quality, it is possible to use four lenses (imagine two Lenovo Mirage cameras back to back). But with that approach, the stitch line will look bad and will lose 3d quality. The lowest number of lenses for decent quality 3d 360 appears to be 6, which is the design of insta360 pro, kandao obsidian, and other similar cameras. Best regards, Mic
Actually you just need ONE cam (set aside from the professional ones like Insta 360 Pro (2) etc) which is the VUZE or VUZE plus. However it’s resolution is a bit lower than the Vuze XR‘s and EVO‘s which come with 5.7k but only 180 😎
@@o0AnotherweaseL0o you are absolutely right -- just one camera is enough. But Sonic Snail asked how many lenses... so that's why i answered it that way :)
Hey Mic! Awesome review, thank you very much! From my limited experience with all the mainstream 360 cameras I have tried so far (and I have no personally tried the EVO yet), in my humble opinion as of today it goes like this: - Top-tier video image quality is between the GoPro Fusion and Rylo. But GoPro has clearly abandoned the further development of the Fusion (quite shameful for the price of the camera) and the dual memory card workflow is a nightmare. As for the Rylo, its basically an iOS/Mac product as their Android app crashes more than it ever works (and never fixed) and a desktop PC app is still nowhere to be found (and I doubt will ever happen) - Best overall camera with top features, ease of use and workflow, unquestionably the Insta360 OneX. - Most versatile all-in-one do-it-all camera, the Insta360 EVO. Hopefully as the hardware of the OneX and EVO is bascially the same, Insta360 will issue updates to fix its current performance issues, and at least match the image quality of the OneX. Eagerly awaiting 8K and 1" sensor affordable cameras to enter the market and push the image quality of 360 to the next level (..I am from the start discounting the upcoming 1" sensor Theta from this list as it only shoots 4K video and it will NOT be able to be pushed higher with any software updates because its 1" Sony sensor will uncontrollably overheat). Thanks again Mic, you are the best!!!
Thank you very much my friend! One minor note -- Fusion's dual card is not a hassle. You can connect the Fusion to the PC with a single USB cable. The PC will be able to download from both cards simultaneously without losing speed. You don't need to download one card at a time. As for EVO, for someone who appreciates VR, then yes it is the all in one camera. I just want to caution that the stitching is really far below one x. I will try to ask help from mistika to see if they can do a better stitching job. Thanks again buddy!
Thanks Mic! I am hopeful that Insta360 will push updates for the EVO that will improve its performance (and stitching).. but I don't think it will ever be as good as the OneX simply because of the larger lens' separation blindspot. Then again, software can do miracles haha. We will see. Thanks again :)
@360Rumors Thanks. Just to be clear, I can purchase the Mopic Snap 3D iPhone case, and then view Vuze 3D video using the Vuze app? Or do I have to convert anything over to the Mopic app (like the Mplayer3D) to view it? Thanks.

Hi Xiang Fei. holoframe requires dual lens iphone, so XR cannot be used with it. Try Mopic3D. As for the app, it is called insta360 VR (not insta360 moment). it will be released around March 26. If you have gtx 970, it should be fast. In Insta360 Studio, go to Settings... Preferences... check use hardware decoder, hardware encoder, enable CUDA acceleration.
good info but like all other reviews that I've seen there is no mention of the difficulties of connecting to an Android phone and you can call me stupid as I went and bought an Evo 360 and found out afterward that he camera is mainly meant for the iPhone although it does connect to an android but not wifi. Saying that it is a great little camera but the Andriod issue needs to be addressed.
@@360vroomers I have an s8 and have connected it to the evo 360. But have no wifi connection as I can't update the firmware unless as I found out I connect the camera to the computer and then there is no clear instructions on how to do this. My point about all reviews that I've seen is they skip over this part. The app for the android is only 2.6 or there abouts and I let insta know that they need to pull their finger out and do something about it. It's a shame in this day and age that such a potentially good product gears itself mainly to the iPhone whose sales have been on the decline.
Hey there Viajero. Right now i see a lot of people selling insta360 pro 1. Maybe you might find one at a good price. The original vuze is also now more affordable and the image quality has improved a lot compared to when it was first released. But EVO and Vuze XR are more detailed than the first Vuze.
Great review and content. As usual ! I bought an EVO and was pretty happy with it, all was working nicely. But since some days (and perhaps last app update 1.2.0 but not sure of that) I'm no more able to connect to my EVO with my Samsung Galaxy 7. The app keep looping to the activation screen again and again (I activate, confirm and then try to connect by WIFI but the app goes back to activation screen...). I cannot get a real answer from insta 360 support ( chat and mail ). Did not find nothing on forums. So I'm posting here trying to find someone with the same issue.... I will add that the camera is great and the phone app too in some ways but I found to limitations : The files you are editing need to be in phone memory (not in external), konwing that 5.7k videos can be hudge you 'll perhaps have to manage with storage problems.... The computer studio software is very limitated. not on par with app, finally premiere pro with no stich workflow is quasi-mandatory for serious usage of EVO. For sure internal battery is a limitation (less than one hour usage) and seems like an unfinished design flow... Will be happy to discuss with other users of good and bad aspects !
Hi Boris. When you activate the app, is your phone connected to the internet? If the phone is connected to your camera, switch the wifi to your internet so that you can complete the activation.
@@360vroomers Hi, thanks for your reply. But yes for sure my phone was connected to the internet when asked. I tried a lot with different ways, differents networks, cellular datas... Activation was done (green tick) and confirmed I was then prompted to connect back via WIFI to the EVO and then when connected I was sended back to the "activate" screen. Eternally looping. I saw I was not the only one having this issue, the app review on google play shaw several testimonies. I wrote to customer services they asked me to send video capture of my manipulations. Never get any real answer (mail or chat). But strangely today I have been able to connect again ! like before, not doing things very differently. It was just after I tried one more uninstall/reinstallation of EVO app, again. The difference I have noted was I restarted my phone between uninstall and reinstall... I tried so many things with so many parameters that in the end I don't know if that last attemps maner was the cause of succes or if they did something on their servers in link with activation... For sure my problems have begun after I have been forced to kill EVO app to preserve battery life one day I needed. (The fact that EVO app is continualy draining power in backround can be an issue I think ). After it was never the same.... Hope it will help others. I don't know if their pro customer service is on par. I bought an EVO as a first testing step in insta360 environement, planning to by and insta pro soon. Again a very informative video. 3D stuff looks awesome in a VR-headset, but right at the moment I'm not really interested in creating own 180 3D content. I will stay with 360. And because of the stitching issue I wouldn't choose the Evo. And even if it has it's downsides it's a really good camera.
yes it's definitely more of a specialist camera. And not everyone will want to do 3d 180. But hopefully VR gains traction and more people decide that they want to capture their memories in VR.
I have the Insta360 EVO but am disappointed that I can't edit 180 3D with Final Cut Pro which I have already purchased. Seems the only option will be to also purchase Adobe Premiere.
Hi RK. You can edit Evo with FCP. After rendering the video, just use the free google VR180 tool vr.google.com/vr180/apps/ to inject the VR180 metadata.

Hi leo asc. Insta360 EVO creates 3D 180 video. This is the format that Google calls VR180. You can look around but you cannot walk around in it. You cannot interact with what you see in the video. BEWARE - Insta Evo has terrible customer support - I just bought the Insta360 EVO and on the day of purchase realized that it cannot be used for live streaming. I wanted to return it immediately, left messages and finally got a response a few days later. They would NOT take it back, saying I activated the product (I thought I need to activate it for enabling live streaming). I asked if I could return the product and upgrade to a model capable of live streaming, they never responded.
Hi SassePhoto. I'm very sorry to hear that. fyi, in Asian countries, it is very rare for a store to agree to returns. This is not only in China but also Japan and most parts of Asia. This is not a customer service issue -- it's just how it's done in other parts of the world. You could try posting about it to insta360 community on facebook to see if they'll do anything or if anyone wants to swap your evo with their one x. But the return policy in the US is not at all normal in many parts of the world.
@@360vroomers Hi and I hear you. However what I call decent return policy is also valid in Europe, and in fact also in Asia. By the way I had an issue with a drone from DJI and they were very decent and respectful, so I bought from them again. I seldom return products and in the case of Insta, there was a valid reason and on top of it, I was willing to spend more money for a better product of theirs. Their customer support is located in LA, thereby they should understand decency. I find insta Evo business practice completely unacceptable and will never buy from them again.
@@SassePhoto i understand so thats why i suggested maybe posting on fb so maybe get some more attention from someone higher up. That's my best suggestion

Do we know if any updated Kandao Qoocam will be out any time soon with higher res cameras? Looks like vuse XR and Insta360 EVO image quality is way better
Thanks Roland. I don't understand what you mean Imax is 360. Most Imax screens are less than 180, unless you include the seats? Re VR180, it is not old tech. It is not the same as 3D. In 3D, you cannot look around. In VR180, you can look around. This makes a big difference. VR180 feels much more realistic than 3D.
Hi realstreetuk. I know what you mean! don't worry. You can use Mopic 3D snap. They have several versions for Samsung. Not sure about other Androids. Insta360 will also create holoframes for Android
Im tempted to buy but only got the XR a month back and so far Im very impressed with the quality.I sream my 5.7K footage from a network drive straight to samsung vr app on mu oculus go BUT the desktop software and android app is not very user friendly and desperately needs to improve or insta will destroy it which is a shame as its a better form factor and build quality from what I can see.
Hey there Garry. The image quality difference between the two is small, and mind you the vuze xr has a waterproof case whereas the evo doesnt, and as you know vuze can also use mopic so i wouldnt worry too much.
@@360vroomers Thanks Mic, you know for such a well renowned 360 youtuber you are such an inspiration and all round amazing guy.You and Ben have been my inspiration and have helped me on my own channel so much with my 360 filming since the LG 360 days!!!
Hi life in 360. That is possible, but the stitching will look very harsh. It will also be a bit pricey. by comparison, the Vuze is now $599 and you don't have to worry about syncing them.. It's available from Vuze vuze.camera/108.html or Amazon amzn.to/2Fbv8ay There's also a camera called Vuo360 (formerly TwoEyesVR) that has a 4-lens design like that but it has been delayed 2 years already, and by the time it comes out (maybe in 2020?), there is probably a cheaper or better 3d 360 camera, so it effectively becomes obsolete.
@@360vroomers it was true when the phone was galaxy s6, it's mems chip was slow but on a 2018 phone i'm pretty sure the mems phone chip is more accurate and faster than the mems on gearvr from 2015 update : the LSM6DSL of galaxy s9 dont seem to be more precise than the mpu-6500 of galaxy s6 or the BMI055 of the gearvr but i am not an expert on mems chips. it is maybe just that carmack's occulus code is more optimized than google's cardbboard's
@@amanieux Hi amanieux. If you have Google VR Services installed and you have a compatible phone, then yes the Google Cardboard experience *may* be close enough to Google Daydream. But for ordinary Google Cardboard, tracking will not be accurate enough
