Insta360 GO3 Has Some Big Issues & Solutions

@davidcorsi4892 thanks for your precise and long comment 👍🏻 such comments would help the community. In Europe there is still no fw Update, I’ve checked it during the review. Insta360 customer support is really great, they will replace my cam because of the magnetic mount issue. The other 2 problems can be most probably solved with the next fw. @@wheelxtech Today v1.0.20 was just released. It's available widely also in Europe and can be downloaded on the Go3 download page.

@@wheelxtech it's the exact same list as the 1.0.15 I had but now listed as 1.0.20... "1. Fixed the occasional problem where the preview on the Action Pod stuttered after the camera connected to the app. 2. Optimized the image quality in FreeFrame Video Mode. 3. Resolved the aspect ratio error when shooting some scenes. 4. Optimized the stability of Video Mode at 50fps. 5. Improved system stability and user experience."

Hi Arthur, Problem Nr. 2 & 3 can be solved by a FW Update, there is already one rolled out actually today in Europe , I will make a video for sure about the improvements. The issue with the magnetic mount is easy to solve as you have seen. If 2.7k is enough for you , you can go for it or watch my other comparison video with DJI OA3 & Go Pro 11 (DJI will bring out soon the Action 4, I would not pick that). It depends on your use cases actually which action cam is right for you.

Hi, the company is very innovative, has fresh ideas but the products have small issues, which actually could have been avoided.check my gimbal video and you will understand better what I mean.insta360 needs much more real-world testing before releasing the products.

@@wheelxtech video editing is tough! I've posted over 1,300 videos now and created over 4,000. Deciding what to share, which one to edit, and then delete old videos - ugh! My current Insta360 GO2 action camera is great, though it does overheat easily even indoors. I liked your examples of cycling down the grassy hill showcasing the stabilization quality.

@sarezfx hi, I think Insta360 will solve it definitely, not a big design change , a small adjustment. ✌🏻

I think the gopro fingers/1/4-20 mount already has the rubber pads. It mentions somewhere its designed for more action-y purposes.

Makes sense, having a softer surface would reduce the shakiness

@@redoanmehedi3373 I’ve seen on eBay for 18$ with 2 pieces of plastic on both sides for stabilization, insta360 charges around 30$ for the original quick mount

it did at least when I use other modes than free frame mode.before update in every mode I had the issue but not every time, sometimes I had records without sync issue

yes unfortunately I still have the issues. You can check my latest video, fw update did not help as well. If you are lucky, you will not have these issues accept quick release shakiness, this is hw related problem but easy to solve. A lot of users are reporting that they have none of these issues.have fun with your cam ✌🏻

Welcome.not every unit has these issues, some viewers are reporting that they have none of them.I just wanted to share my experience, most of the sponsored RU-vid channels are not talking about any of the problems. ✌🏻

Hi @stalkernewidrisakin Only once, compared with the older model it’s much much better It was a very hot day and the action cam was not moving.on the bike , on movement I had no issues ✌🏻

Hi @phchan2219, thanks for your comment. Without action pot there is no issue as I mentioned in the video but the battery life is significantly less. The mount issue is not a big deal for me actually, it's not nice to have it for the price I paid, the other 2 issues are much more distracting. I've the latest fw since 2 days and the problems are still there. I'm working on a video about it.

Hi @ginogameplay yes you are right , I also have mentioned it in the review, only with action pod it’s unstable, anyways putting small rubber pieces to solve the issue is not a big deal for me ☺️ but not nice , it’s not a cheap action cam

This actually could be solved via FW Update, I don't know why it's not happening. Great, innovative products actually.

@@wheelxtechit is annoying but I actually started to record sound on separate resorder sometime ago - it was game changer for me and audio quality improved significantly, actually even more :D but still syncing in post is easier when audio recorded in camera is alligned with the picture - because one can use auto sync button and it takes 0,3 sec. hope they fix it soon

I think its a mixed bag... ALL GO3 cameras are made in China at the same factory... its luck of the draw if you get a defective mount.

Hi, sorry to hear that.I would never buy a flip screen action cam again, my display is working fine so far but after months of usage, the display is moving back on windy days, which was not the case as I bought it

First year every kind of issue must be covered by insta360 right?

Format the SD card first, factory reset, delete the app and install again then try.it solved the issue by me after these steps.you have the latest fw?

@@wheelxtech i’ve tried to delete app and installing them again still not working. But I never try to format the SD card. Does it really work? Because GO 3 wifi network seems got nothing to do with storage right? But well no harms to try. I will try later.

@@gonnyosa it worked by me, also check the fw version , if you don’t have the latest one, you can install the latest fw without app, there is a video in my channel how to do it as well.

@@wheelxtech Must be good clean living on my part. I've been using the swivel mount on my motorcycle with no problem. I wondered about the design and how it would hold, but it stays in position even at speed, and no rattle.

I think anyone can do it better than me :) I just used what I already had at home. Better, bigger rubbers could solve it completely. Thanks again for your comments. I'm working on a new review, DJI OA 3 vs DJI OA4, I will reduce the music volume ;)

@@wheelxtech don't diminish your findings, fixes, these are valuable ones. Believe or not showing up youself that way won't help anuone, especially you... I don' regard your fix as not worthy and don't care if someone fix it better. First ofall, you first reported this issue and believe me I watched many 'sponsored' reviews showing only positives. You not only showed this issue up but also presented the fix, and tested it. This is real standing out from the crowd. This brings value, at least to me. Knowing what you found can help me and others to decide if thie issue is significant to us or not. That is why your video is more caluable to me than dozens of others that showing details based on specs sheet not actual real life usage.thank you for that. I have Go2 (the previous version), I was wondering shoudl I upgrade. For me this docking box is badly designed. Go2 when put into its small docking box was fully covered - here we have lens not covered by any protection. I used to put Go2 into my jeans pocket, bag or anywhere. with Go3 I'd worry about scratching the lens or having it dirty within seconds. Your findings and actually no improvement of video quality saved me some money :D
