your videos are always the most detailed and the best in 360 ° video photography, you put so much effort into it. Thanks for that man! I also love your videos because there are always lots of pictures of my favorite city, London
Nice video. What about these lens protectors? Do you have to stick them on the X2 body to use and then remove them to go underwater... and to stick them back again for a new use? It looks uncomfortable, right?
Hi Shanil, may you share the link of INSTA360 TUTORIALS that you mentioned we need download it for Window please ? I saw many of them on website but don't know which one will be best to use. Thanks for your help in advance
It's via WiFi. It can take some time if you have a lot of files. You technically don't need to send the files to your phone. You can edit directly off the camera just by connecting it to App
@@Best360 Thank you, I edit in IMovie my videos with logo and other characters. Then, does video on the app in your phone appear in your library? I am really intending to buy one. Thank you!!!!
It’s not 5.7K ...because you have to crop everything! I loved your review, and the children’s story ! You are very talented. ( your editing tips were easy to follow)
Brilliant video. I love that you took time to show what the cam can do. Causing me to drool. I'd love to see 2 videos. 1. A video that shows more of using the app to edit those videos you posted. 2. A detailed comparison between the One R and the X2 as I am torn between both and I want to make a decision fast. Most people have comparisons between the X and the X2. I am certainly not getting the X
Don’t bother with the one r unless you want to risk lens fogging, mine did it from day one and could not resolve it, I returned it and brought a GoPro Max. BTW all my friends brought a one r and EVERYONE had the dreaded lens fogging!
@@Best360 though ot does come with a more expensive price tag. Hows the stitch line compared to the one r? Does the one x2 also use the one r app or does it have a separate app?
Thanks for the tutorials. Couple of questions - you mention combining two clips into a story in the app, how do you do that? Also- with the stitch line, is it better to have the camera "parallel" to the ground if you were holding in front or behind you meaning the lenses are pointed up/down vs. pointed left right? Answer probably depends on which way you will point more in post but humor me anyway. thanks again, first timer into 360 here
Thanks for the very informative review video. Many people skip the smartphone requirement for using the app. Looks like my 3 year old ‘Mi A1’ is not going to be good enough.
Thank you very much for your videos. One question, what is the minimum phone configuration compatible with One X2 and its app? I have an OPPO Reno 4 Pro , Snapdragon 720, RAM 8 GB.
Hello from Korea! It is my first time buying insta360 camera. And your videos are really helpful! I wanna ask you one thing about editing with my phone. After shooting with insta360 one x2, can I get 4K video as a result even if I edit it with my cell phone?
Great video! Do you know if the USB-C to 3.5 mic adapter from the One R also works with the X2? There's a new one for the X2 but it's not yet available here, it's bigger and more expensive.
Hello!! What do you think the new one x2 compares to the GoPro Max? I have a max but I found the GoPro app seems a little basic compared to the insta 360 app. So I’m considering to buy the one x2. But I wonder the if the video quality is as good as the MAX.
Great video Shanil! Very succinct and well presented, as always. Ping me the next time you are in Waterloo - at least I will get to see the X2 that way :)
I have been watching a lot of videos on this camera and have noticed there are several times the footage looks pixelated, almost like drone footage being recorded to a cell phone that's almost out of range.... Is this the camera and just the way the footage looks at times or the way that is was captured or rendered?
Thank you very much for your video, which teaches me a lot about this new Camera Insta360 One X 2. I have currently the Insta360 OneX for 5 months, and I admit that this one tempts me a lot, just for its hermetic side, and its screen. Do you know if the GPS has been integrated in the One X 2? or does it always go through the SmartPhone via the app or the Insta360 GPS Remote? Besides, is it compatible or not with the One X 2? Regarding the use at sea, how is the cleaning of the lenses? on the other hand, I read that it was better to use a suitable box for shooting underwater to correct the distortion? Thank you for your answers. +1 subscriber and 1 blue thumb.
Thanks for the sub! Answer to your questions: No the GPS is still separate. But the GPS remote/smartphone will work with the ONE X2. For underwater you need to use the dive case for the best 360 degree stitching results. I think steadycam (single lens recording mode) will work fine as it is up to 10 meters. I will test underwater when I get a few more accessories.
I have owned the One X since it hit the market, and although I have had fun with it, I confess that I'm not obsessed. When the One R came out, the versatility definitely caught my attention, but having the One X and a GoPro 8, I have been cautious about buying the One R...and now the One X2...totally confused. I get the X2's upgraded features...and they are interesting...but my question is around the updated app. Am I able to use all the app's features with the One X?
Great video. In my view you've made the best launch review on youtube - your intro was excellent and you answered all the questions. Whilst I hear your point about smart phones limiting resolution on consumer cameras, I'm disappointed that resolution has not moved on in two years. The flexibility of these cameras is great, but its disappointing that a smart phone camera outperforms it for quality and resolution. Personally I have a suspicion that Insta have worked out that they can improve the image with software and therefore avoid greater outlay on hardware. It's a shame this was not the camera that took the Qoocam 8K and made it reliable and user friendly.
Maybe you right but they make maybe more they think 8k is not can be seen at what gadjet...i think none or almost But , you can do in this day what improve already have the same camera...before they make h265 and it bring more quality, then vivid and all this made not like other componyies make new and new cameras just hardware apgrade not see in root of their already camera and that can involve people in same camera just include new features and it makes interesting for different users tik tok til pano makers business )
Thanks for your review. What about the REAL use as an action camera? I mean are the lenses subject to scratch? is it reccomendable to use some sort of protection?
We always know if we come to best 360’s channel for a review we’ll get a proper in depth review with the details we want and not mainly fluff lol Much love thanks for the review!
But the battery life would have been a lot less, and it would have to be a bigger case to dissipate the extra heat and bigger battery, huge video files, more difficult to edit etc. It is always a trade-off, and I am impressed the way that Insta360 stay true to fundamental ONE X principles of pocketability and ease of use. It is too easy to get specification creep.
Hi Shanil, great work man. How did you make those cool time-lapses that appear in the beginning of this video (with 0 distortion using the Insta360 ONE X2)?
I’m been waiting on this. Great video! I will be ordering ASAP and use it for some cool house tours for clients. I was hoping for a bit better lens though
Great detail review, this has me thinking if I should upgrade from my One X. I love to see, if you could test underwater, to see the quality and how well the One X2 its good seal.
Not trying to stir trouble, but as someone who worked with cameras and telescopes for almost two decades, I cringe every time I see someone sliding the silicon lens cover on and off over the lens. Just the act of dragging anything across the surface of the lens, is a risk of damage. If contamination is on the lens or the cover, you could have an issue. I use two hands to spread open the cover on my One R, to remove it. BTW, lens cloths aren't all that great. If you want the sharpest images....order some RoR lens cleaner....you can see the difference. Thanks for the videos!!
I agree with you. I noticed this new silicone cover is outspread on the sides. I think it is designed to be pushed from the sides before covering lenses so it spreads out and prevent touching the lenses.
Great review! Will it work with Google Street View app? I mean record video and upload to GSV where G will transfer it to pictures. Also, do you think Insta is working on some new camera that will be closer to Theta Z1 in picture quality? Is it worth to wait for something like that and hope or better grab this one? I am owner of Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360, and I am looking for easier and faster workflow, but I dont want to downgrade to lower picture quality.
I will find out about GSV for Sunday's video 😁👍. Insta release a new camera every 6 months. I have no idea what they are working on next. But I'm sure they are listening carefully to what people want, and hopefully will deliver in the near future!
Very helpful video, thank you. I use a Honor 9 phone. I appreciate that this is not good enough but it's fine for me. Does all the usual things and takes decent photos, so I'm not keen on buying a new one. However I would buy a new tablet. Can you make any recommendations, preferably Android?
Incredibly cool how smooth you can edit with Insta360 🤩 How do you keep the quality high ? When I download a framed 360 vide the Max is 1080 p for download in the Insta360 app.
I also had battery draining issues with ONE X. I don't experience this issue with the ONE X2. You can choose when you want your ONE X2 to Auto Sleep. There is a setting for that. Like after 30 secs or 1 minute.
This has voice control to start recording right? I have my OneX mounted to my ATV helmet and it takes so long to stop, take helmet off, turn camera on, start recording, then put helmet on and go again. And Venture case makes the audio terrible at high speed, so just a waterproof camera plus lens guards for mud and rocks would be good. Thanks.
Thanks for posting Shanil. Can you take a 360 photo and import that photo directly to the Google Streetview app running on an iPhone for posting to Google Maps? (without any post processing?) I find this is not possible with the Insta 360 One R and it is possible with Ricoh Theta V and Ricoh Theta Z1.
The ONE X2 is a more convenient 360 camera. It's much easier to film with compared to the ONE X. I personally think it's worth it for the better battery life, more rugged camera body, and waterproofness. But video and photo quality is about the same. You won't notice a huge leap in quality. Although this may change with future firmware updates.
There is very little difference in the video capability, the one X2 has better sound and colour renditions, the big difference is that the editing app will allow you to use the ai shotlabs effects which have been deliberately disabled by insta for the one X. Insta claim this is due to the app having to process the video files differently but this is NOT true as both cameras produce identical video file formats, which is what the app works with. It a cynical profiteering policy by insta, who are not supporting users of the one X.
It's hard to say... Even though our phones are similar, the apps on your phone can interfere with the Insta360 app also. It should hopefully be ok. The s10 plus has some good hardware
Hello, can u tell me how to get my Micro SD card out of the One X2 ?! It is place properly, but when I press on it a little, it’s a bit soft, but it doesn’t pop out anymore ?! Thx
Awesome review Shanil. Thanks! Now I want to upgrade my OneX.... but haven't really used it enough to justify that upgrade yet, due to not leaving the house... iso life :-(
Or probably you can make a video abouy what accessories you can keep if upgrading from x1 to x2... selfie stick, bullet handle, memory card, lens cap, gps remote, drifter ?
Thanks for another great video. When I saw it was a new model I was excited expecting to see 8K but alas. maybe the next model. I have two of the one X models its my go to camera.
Good question - ONE R is perfectly fine. But ONE X2 is way more convenient for capturing 360 video. It has a better stitch line and better form factor. But video quality is pretty similar
I have a question I cannot find the answer to, How many GB does it take to record an hour of video in 5.7K? I am only asking so I can determine which micro SD cards to purchase to go with my camera.
On 15.01 you say about combine ... But on iphone can combine different cameras and non 360 but at android i put less quality video non from insta 360 one r shots and only this can be viewed by app ....strange things ...may be i wrong...h Just not all tested...
@@Best360 Instead of buying the lens guards, would using a liquid nano screen protector be a better alternative (the one that comes in a bottle and you "wipe" with using a cloth) so it hardens the lenses ?
@@Best360 I have found a way to get rid of the "red dot" effect you've mentioned in previous videos Whilst it's not always possible to do so, try and "cover" the Insta360 camera in a shadow whilst filming/walking I've noticed that when I do that, it never appears I filmed a 10 second clip twice (both clips shot within 60 seconds of each other so the outside lighting/brightness was the same) walking the same line both with the Insta360 "out there" and again but using the shadow of myself to "cover" the camera and in the 2nd clip, the red dot was never visible in my clip I understand it can't always be done like that but a helpful tip is better than nothing 😁
Yes, it was in the original plan to do low light. But British weather had other ideas, and then higher tier lockdown was enforced. It will come in a later video when I get a good opportunity 😁👍
