I not only can't get any cable to work, additionaly a problem of what sounds like radio interference or static is recorded internally in the camera and on the H3VR. I was hoping I could just record sound seperately then sync the audio after by clapping. Well, no luck. The Insta 360 Pro 2 creates a weird noise that is not detectable to my ears while recording, but is loud as hell and very bad on playback. I tested this on my bench and noticed if the mic is only 3 inches away the noise dissapears. But when mounted on top of camera the electrical noise returns. Maybe because the mic is literally between the antennas? NO idea, but for as long as I've had this damn camera I have never once been able to record good quality sound. Very frustrating.
Hey Paul, this was a great video and I've watched it... a number of times. So I cannot for the life of me get consistant connection to the pro 2. Had it working. Tried the other pro 2, that one didn't work. Went back to the original pro 2 and now that one failed to recognize it easier. Losing my mind a bit. Any other tips?
Hi Paul , great video!! I have one question, if I want to edit video (add text and music) what software it's compatible with insta360 cameras? Thank you
Thanks for all this but I can not get the microphone to connect :( sometimes it shows up as USB Mic in the app but just for a few seconds. But 99% of the time it doesn’t show up as well. Tried everything. Downgrading, upgrading, different cables. What versions did you try? What is working for you? Did you experience this Problem as well?
I've got the same issue, and after few trial and error attempts it looks like that it is a cable issue, and it definitely depends on quality of the cable. I.e thin, "cheap" looking cables does not work at all, while more "fat" one - even it is longer connect almost instantly. Sorry for such a non "tech" and noob answer, but in case someone else reads this - definitely try different cables, it will eventually work.
