Great first look at the new X3, I like the new simple name. There is a lot to unpack here, right up front I love the new screen. And the improved action mode could make it more useful. And good see the price didn't go up much over the previous mode. I look forward to seeing more videos on this new 360 camera on your channel. Thanks for sharing.
I just watched all your videos reviewing the Insta360 cameras and I really like how you explain the details and give examples of the cameras at work. Well done and you've convinced me that for my purposes I should go with the 360 vs a gopro11! Thank you. You've earned a new subscriber!
I dig the way your talk about this camera in a very practical way. How to film, how to edit and what this experience might be like for a new potential buyer.
I brought my Family to Niagara Falls Canada Side 2 weeks ago (End of August 2022). And I almost bought the Insta320 X2 but decided not to because I still have my trusty gopro hero3. Now looking at this X3 I will definitely be getting it for our Next trip to Ottawa in October! Thanks for sharing this review this camera is really worth it specially with the Action Cam mode when you don't need to film in 360.
1) Is it still noisy even at iso 100 just like X2? 2) Timelapse mode at what fps? Can we use it for google streetview? 3) No built in gps, right? 4) Thanks!
This thing looks pretty interesting! Would be interested in an overheating comparison with other cameras as the in camera stabilization may limit its performance. Thanks!
Very informative review 😎👍. It seems like Insta360 has their engineers working overtime. They dropped the RS 1” in June I believe and now this. The X3 looks great for someone like me that has never had a 360 camera 🤔. You did a great job of explaining the features. Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏
Not durable one drop and it will hit lens first and you can't use lens protectors because it messes up the video also, terrible light flare and impossible to use a lens hood like a normal camera without seeing it.
Very nice review, fantastic job. I need to think about this a bit more however my initial impression with the camera is disappointment. They've done some upgrading of what for me are secondary features while not really upgrading the primary thing I use 99.9% of the time, the video quality. In looking through the detailed specs the larger battery amounts to an extra minute of run time in video mode, H.265 mode is no longer supported and the weight of the camera is about 15% heavier (important when it's sitting on a helmet mount in a whitewater canoe). I am glad they kept the waterproof feature and I need to see what difference the Video HDR really makes. Low light video performance could also be the difference with the new sensor although I will need to see. Hopefully you could do a small low light review. Thanks for the video!
Is the stabilisation as good as the GoPro 9 and 10. And is the sound good. I was going to get a go pro 10 but now I’m wondering if this is a better choice. Great video thank you.
I love your videos. They have helped me more than you could imagine. I do need your opinion now. I use 2 Osmo Action cameras as dashcams. 1 pointed out and 1 pointed inside our vehicle. I also use the Hohem Isteady Pro 3 gimble due to not having a steady hand. I'm looking at buying either a Pocket 2 with pgytech holder or an Insta360 X3 to use for vlogging. I can't stand the fisheye look at all. Which setup would you suggest and why? I will be attaching my 10k MaH battery grip to the one I decide to buy. Thanks for your help.
That’s a tough decision. If it’s a camera you’re that’s going to be mounted The pocket doesn’t always perform well in those situations and something like the x-ray might be better. However depending on how you export footage from the X.3 there can be some distortion if you’re trying to get a really wide fov. I guess what you could always do is order one try it out for a few days to see if it meets your needs and if not then send it back.
Great new camera, but now the one x2 batteries dont fit anymore as well as the external microphone adapter. So now you have to purchase all new accessoires.
Great looking camera with loads of new features, however I think I will wait for the Insta360 X3 RS 1 inch. That will likely come and be worth the wait in my opinion...
while it’s much more advanced than the earlier models, how far have they come in the design from much much thinner and lighter body… to a thicker and heavier unit. they traded out some of that lightweight, sleek pocket-ability appeal and towards the direction of something like a gopro 360.
Seeing how fast these companies are innovating compared to GoPro. Makes me concerned for GoPro's future. GoPro seems to be launching the same product repackaged in different form factors while being plagued with quality control and reliability issues.
Watched a bunch of your videos esp on the DJI Action 4. 1:49 Especially, where your head turns into the sun - the movement looks so unnatural. '360 look' is cartoonish - time to breakout the green screen and add yourself into the movie 300 - Look I'm about to enter the battle and I'm not even nervous.
