That would be true if the drain exterior were perfectly smooth. Did you pay attention to the indentations in the drain body? The concrete will lock the drain to it and it will not move. Period. I can tell you it's been in now 9 years and has not budged. We've had bitter cold weather for weeks at a time with the drain choked with ice. Next time be sure to think it through before you comment.

+Tyee Cambrón I think it's a good idea. Just go look at the size of the trench drains and wrought iron grates used at commercial buildings like gas stations and convenience stores. Must be tough enough to handle TRUCK weight.

Should have siad that my channel drain will be on side of driveway and will not be driven over. Not sure if that makes a diffrence whether to put 4" concrete underneath or not.

We think metric here in the USA is bizarre. In rough carpentry I don't see how you can even use metric. The space between the mm is so small that the fuzz from a sawcut would put you off at least 2mm. So do you just use 5mm as the smallest increment? If so, that's super bizarre.

@@askthebuilder no we just measure to the mm - for example 2400mm and cut "on" (or to the side depending on dropsaw) of the line. having said we still have mixed measurements for some things, tire pressure probably the obvious one. Certainly I find addition of lenghts in decimel much easier.

Dan, Yes I'm aware you can make one long video. I did a survey of my subscribers. MOST wanted shorter videos in a playlist. Not all people have 40 minutes of time to devote to watching a long video. I discovered many years ago it's impossible to satisfy everyone. I stopped trying when that revelation imprinted in my brain.

Ask the Builder your videos are very informative, I like your movies, just wish there was less intros wit the same words just for a simple project. I am always fascinated by new things, technologie. and tools, cars, in other words if it moves makes noise I am interested, what do you think of them new foam board houses?

Dear Mr. Rapture: I discovered many years ago it's impossible to satisfy everyone. I stopped trying. I also discovered that everyone has an opinion. For every complaint I get about making a video long form, I get a comment about how a separate video in a series was perfect and allowed the viewer to get what *they* want and not have to watch other stuff. For every comment that I get where someone says I *talk too much*, I get another comment about how a viewer *LOVES* that I take the time to explain things. Oh, and lastly, you get to watch these for free. Think about that and allow that to sink in.

You should consider making your own video with less talking.... Most of the talking here is beneficial...
