Just ordered mine from Ali express. I've done this to my 2008 Honda Civic already and it makes such a difference. However, I did skip the camera installation on my civic due to the complexity. I'm thinking about giving it a go with the MDX, but looks like quite the chore! Thanks for the video! I know I'll be rewatching it many times during my install

Firstly, this video is great. Thanks for sharing! For background, I retrofit a Carpuride W701 unit to take place of my navigation screen on my 2005 Acura TL (It looks 100% OEM). I made the appropriate extension cords and my stock navigatio screen now sits in my glove box in case I ever need it. I'm in the process of doing this for my wife's 2007 Acura RDX as well. I have a 2013 Acura RDX and have been flirting with the idea of purchasing a Grom VLine2, because I couldn't find a clean looking way to install a Carpurride unit. I really like the touch screen abilities and was worried I'd lose that with the VLine2. However, your video came across my account and this looks like the perfect solution.

Hi just a question, do you know any way to still have access to the original navigation software? I seen some people do this with the acura rl units, one person in particular was able to have a switch that went back to stock software. From what I assume I don’t think it’s actually a hard thing to do but I don’t work with too much wiring aside from computers and basic electrical work. Just let me know! Would like to do this for my friend as well, and potentially do this on an Acura RL when i purchase one again. Appreciate your detailed video here regardless!

Looks like the version for my 2016 MDX is no longer available 😞 Could you also make a video showing the features of this unit? Why is it better to integrate this unit, and not just stick a simple $99 unit in front of the original screen?

2 questions, now that you removed the navi screen. How do you set the clock on the factory radio. also if you remove power to the factory radio how will you enter the anti-theft code without having the factory navi screen?

Do you know if the car's diagnostic information can be displayed in the new unit? I was told by the installer this was possible because of the OBD plug, but I have not yet found the app on the new unit that displays the diagnostic information .

Good job! Could you inform if steering media control buttons still work well? Can siri/google assistant be triggered by inbuilt voice control button on the steering? Could we retain the operation of all media buttons and jog dial?(i want navi on the screen if i push the button and player to come up if i push audio)?

I just installed mine and I'm having trouble connecting my phone via blutooth. Any idea how to pair a new device? Also, having trouble getting the the android audio to play. It still is playing radio through the old radio controls and not through the android device. Any ideas? My backup camera isn't coming on either. I'm going to check the wiring again later today. So, I have a tech package 2013 mdx and the Hdd just died and the screen says “hdd access error, contact dealer”. Well dealer is like 1,200 to replace oem hard drive for the stock navigation that I don’t even use. This seems like a alternative to the failed stock navigation unit. Do you have any input on if the stock broken navigation would affect this units function?

are these aftermarket radios any good? I am hearing mixed reviews more negative than positive experiences.

When you installed it did you end up having to plug into the AUX port to get sound from the head unit? A lot of these head units from Ali Express require you to use the AUX port for the sound, but I didn't see it in your installation video so I was curious

this looks like it would work on the acura rl, same screen setup it seems. i want an rl really bad.

Can this be installed in a non Navi 2011 tl I seen they have the set for it but not sure if it will work in a non Navi because the heater controls show on the factory screen?

Hi Vince - Could you help!! After watching your video I purchased the same setup for my Acura MDX 2011 from the same seller. My car had the advance tech package so I had to use the TLX harness that they provided. Everything is working except for the backup camera. I've checked the wiring multiple times and I've also installed backup camera before so it's not something new. The LED lights are power by the license plate lights, and the camera is power by the reverse lights. Somehow I'm not able to see any camera image when I put my car in reverse. Infact when the car is put in reverse nothing happens to the android screen. I would still expect a blank screen if the camera is not working when the car is in reverse. The seller said I need to connect the trigger wire (3rd cable) on the harness. I've tried that too. No reverse camera is triggered. You had mentioned in your video that had they sent your unit with the 360 camera software and that you had to update the software for the reverse camera to work. Could you please tell me how I can tell if that is the case for my unit. As of right now I can't seem to figure it out. Would you be able to provide me with the software that they sent you as Im desperate for a solution. Is there something in the setup that I missed? Thanks BTW - it appears that you are from Somerset. Do you have the ability to customize the boot logo? Rather than have the traditional Android logo, I'd like to know if Navitech will allow users to change this to an Acura logo. I've done this with my Carpuride units, so I'm just curious.

Still can't get audio to play through speakers. Once connected to Bluetooth do you have to turn the original car radio on? And if so do you put it on radio, aux, etc?

The factory hands-free on my 2nd Gen MDX is terrible. While this product may be a good solution, I'm skittish. I purchased an expensive touchscreen multimedia system for my E46 BMW about ten years ago. It had all the bells and whistles, but it was buggy, ran my battery down, and the quality was poor. I wouldn't want to purchase another no-name head unit unless there was a long line of satisfied users.
