I think you are wrong. Fur a start it does not affect the current terminal. You always have to login to gain a new group membership. This is she in the video that using id in the current shell does not show the group membership and it is not added in after we open a new login shell. This is persisted in /etc/groups.
@@theurbanpenguin Yes, It is supposed and must work properly gpasswd administer /etc/group but when I tried it didn't (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS maybe it is some kind of bug). By the way this docker is quite enough popular and it is very frustranting about don't have properly made installlation via offical repos and/or package management. Using apt install must solve dependancies and set properly all needed enviroment vars, permissions and etc. Snap don't mention it is a full tragedy.
