i tried both of them on my s20 ( they are the best really ) all of them are nice ( installation of amfilm easier ) but ( fingerprint scan on whitestone is slightly faster or more responsive ) if i i choose i will go with amfilm --- >. why ( because of the price )

It's not a problem or issue for the "screen camera" to be covered by this protector...unless you get bubbles, then you'll have to do it again🤷‍♂️. But honestly with these screen protector kits from Whitestone it's kinda hard to mess up. Like he states several times...CLEAN ... CLEAN ...AND CLEAN again your screen before placing into the cradle. There is just one thing I would add...and you saw him dealing with it during the video. Make sure your work surface is LEVEL. I can't stress this enough. He just had a slight tilt to his work surface so the glue was slowly going to the upper left...but anything more than that and the glue can and will flow right off the screen during install. For a PERFECT install: Like he stated watch his video a few times...become familiar with the steps. Find a dust free area (no fan..breeze..or draft) Use a level working surface Clean your hands well...try to remove all oils from your skin. (I get everything setup and before cleaning and final install wash my hand really well and then while down my fingers with alcohol swabs) Follow his steps. Enjoy your new phone. My family too has been using these screen protectors for years...LOVE 'EM. Never had a screen crack or break with these in place.😁👍👍

There is no screen protector from the factory on the s21 like there was on the s20. So no, no need to remove anything.

@@patjehhh If you google it you'll find that the units shipped to the US don't have them pre-installed. If you're located elsewhere you had one on there.

Not that I see I just installed mine watching this video and I don't see no whole or distortion for the finger print scanner and it still works!

I'll add that I forgot to use the extra weight. So maybe that's why although I don't understand how that could be.

Add another new fingerprint Remove the old not working fingerprint.

Same issue for me and this issue came when Samsung started with their sonic fingerprint reader technology. The same problem i also experienced when I applied a dome glass on my note 20 ultra and the s20 ultra. I've removed my registered fingerprints a couple of times and now my phone unlocks after an average of three attempts which is quite annoying and makes me regret i pulled off the preinstalled plastic film that came with the phone.

Plot twist over here. I reinstalled the screen protector and registered my index finger instead of my thumb. Everything works fine now. I guess my thumbprint is not legible enough for the scanner...

I have never tried. You don't want it sauna steamy as this would add. Water to the air

@@ebpman I ended up doing it in the bathroom like I am used to. Took me all four the bottles of solution to get it (patience isn't a strong suit of mine), but I did eventually get it I think. I think my main issue was the solution wasn't reaching the bottom of my screen and either A- I rushed it, or B- I didn't have the solution directly in the middle of the screen. The first bottle of solution dripped out through the top when I got up and walked away to grab something I'd forgotten. Sovthe second bottle of solution is the one that I rushed. The third bottle was almost fine but I accidentally shifted the screen protector before curing it so I pulled it off and decided to retry. Well you know what they say, "fourth times the charm" (right? Yeah well close enough I suppose). With a bit more patience and care, I did finally get it. On the fourth bottle of solution using the second and final screen protector provided. No bubbles. Cured with 15 seconds x2 each before removing it from the contraption (2 times thanks to ptsd from the first screen sliding around), then after removal, 60 seconds x2 alternating top to bottom each time. I didn't let the room get crazy see me, in fact like with smoke and steam there is a pretty visually obvious level in the room where it goes from cool/hardly steamy, to "damn its a little harder to breathe" steamy. Well I never let the latter actually reach the table I was using. To those who either are impatient, or have rather short attention spans to either go with something else, or to watch this video two or three times start to finish and then maybe give her a try while following along. Anyway now I'm just cleaning up. I'll make an edit here shortly and let you know how it went. Edit - absolutely flawless. No re-registering of my fingerprints, no bubbles, nothing. Literally an absolutely perfect installation with optimal results. Thanks

thats what the black film he pressed down was doing. it was a sticky film that covered the top speaker grill.

You HAVE to remove it. Don't place the domeglass on topnof the pre installed plastic protector!

Dont put extra glass over your camera lensen it can reduce the quality of your pictures

Did the screen shift during install or is there liquid that was cured on the lense?

@@ebpman the screen didn't shift. And I thought I wiped the excess adhesive off. If this is not normal do you reckon i should pull it off and do it again?

I'm sure you've made a decision by now😁🤣 but these are tempered glass. They are thin enough that before applied you can bend them a little...but I mean LITTLE or they will SNAP.🤷‍♂️

@@lh5923 I think the delay is only if you order a custom color. I ordered the regular 256GB Phantom Black, a day or 2 later I changed my mind & tried to cancel it but couldn't, because it had already shipped so I had to wait for it come then send it back, I think that took about a week. BUT it did say that their would be about a month wait before I ordered it, so it's not like I wasn't warned, but still tho... It's going on 6 weeks, come on!

i mean, it comes off with an alcohol wipe. I had a dome glass screen protector on my s9, dropped it once a few months in, the glass shattered, but protected the screen. I peeled the shattered dome glass off and wiped the phone down, looked like a brand new screen and then put a new one on with the same adhesive process. Its good, no damage to the phone.

@@Dantectez happy to report that when I sent in my S9 for trade in, after cleaning off the residue with alcohol wipes, I still got the full value trade in for my s21 ultra, so Samsung approved!

Register your fingerprints again

I have the same issue . This never was a problem before with dome glass until Samsung started with the current fingerprint reader technology that they're using. I've removed my registered fingerprints about three times now and now my phone unlocks my phone after an average of of three attempts which is very annoying and makes me almost regret i removed the preinstalled plastic film Samsung applied that came with the phone.

Maybe you meant to turn OFF?

@@FuzzyJohn no, opening a window and turning on a fan can gather up dust stuck flying in the air towards 1 side. Just make sure it's blowing in the other direction

@@checkyourfax Adding the open window to the mix cleared things up, but I still respectfully disagree. Opening a window with probably another window in the house will probably create a draft. Running a fan on top of it you will end up with air turbulence all over the place. But if this worked for you, more power to you!.

Smh, turn the fan off make sure you're not stirring up the air around you by moving too much, up where it's clean somewhere not near any fabrics or anything and install thank me later

Yup, the screen scratches easily. My first day at work and I had scratches deep enough to feel with my nail. And that was me being as careful as I could as I waited for this protector to be delivered.

I noticed this with amfilm as well for the s10. For the prices these things go for, decided to just go with iqshield for scratches. They're cheap, easy to install, and lifetime warranty to just get another box when you use your pack of 3. I would rather have glass they're so expensive just to scratch easily

@@Dantectez Did it for my s9, replaced the dome glass once on it and the residue remaining after i pulled off the shattered protector came off with an alcohol wipe. Screen looked like new and I just put a new dome glass on it and I have used that one up until today and I am getting my s21 ultra monday. Not using it until I put a dome glass on it on wednesday
