I was looking for a description on how to modify the Trix 23430 and found your video clip. It's very interesting as it explains the installation and the setup of the ESU 50709 led strips that I want to install. I have a few questions. You don't use an ESU function decoder. Why? I also see that you disable the electrical connections between the cars. Any special reason for this? How do you address the cars? Individually or by giving them a common address?
Hi , I think the Esu lighting strips have the built in decoders . I gave all the coaches the same address, also I striped out the dcc couplings and sold them as there is no need for them with power back up caps and built in decoders for each coach. These are in storage now as it was a few years ago when I did this fitout. Jim🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃👍🏻
@@hovermotion I’ve now installed ESU 50709 (yellow led) inside the carriages and removed the Lokpilot 3 Fx decoder. It looks nice. Thx for the great video clips … very usefull.
John JMC thanks...these coaches were factory set up in a very strange way so I decided to install the esu as they worked out cheaper... very tricky to do without causeing any damage...
Hi Eddy , I hope you are well, Yeah any dcc controller, each Esu lighting strip has a built in decoder on the type I installed. There are more basic Esu strips which work without a decoder. There are other makes you can use which are cheaper but not as advanced as these units. etc...
