Please remove IAT sensor once stock AirBox is off, no need to do it while its on the car and you can lose a screw

Nope, this was designed specifically for A90 Supra.

is there a benefit to running a lid vs lidless

It's not as loud with the lid on, and it adds the obvious addition of carbon to the bay.

Luckily cars move, and the filter receives a stream of fresh ram air from the front of the car. Check dyno data at awesupra.com :)
