The exhaust and inlet pipes have a degree of stretch in them. In fact when you're fitting them you will need to compress the inlet a little to be able to fit the exhaust and tighten up the clamps. The inlet will then stretch back to allow that to be fitted and clamped. It's worth considering the minimum and maximum lengths when planning your installation, it's possible to snake the pipes a little to take up any excess.
Thanks guys! It's doing great so far, next up hot water and still need to test it on 230v too! Stay Tuned! We will probably do and overall review etc once everything is up and running, but so far so good!
Hi! I have a question, the 3 cables (+/-and ground) in the red cable sleeve... What's that for? Insee in your videos you guys are running it off the other power cable... So I just can't work out that this one is for?
Great video, I am installing this too and got the truma hot water and cold water fittings. They just push on which is great. Are you concerned about them popping off? They did not come with any collet clips either and I can easily pull them off. Thanks
Make sure you add the little plastic clips and it should be ok (it's been ok for us so far) but I have heard of them popping off without the plastic clips.
Cas & Laz, I have just fitted the same, swapped out a Truma Combi 6 LPG for the JP D6, so not so reliant on LPG. Im getting flickering on LED lights on the start up cycle. Battery power is good and happens with or with out battery charger on. Wonder if you been getting the same if you have LED lights? trying to think how to stop it happening; filter it out somehow etc. Brgds Russ
Hi! Hmm i haven't noticed flickering issues yet although we mainly tested it throughout the day so I'll check this weekend. I assume its potentially related to higher amp draw on startup causing voltage drop maybe? What kind of battery you running it off? Is it fully charged? how long is the cable run to JP? what size is it ? happy to chat about it more on instagram dms or email!
Yup mine does the same..think we need a word with Selina over at JP..I'm also having an issue where the heater doesn't go on low rate but keeps fully switching off and then doesn't come back on until the temp is usually 5 degrees lower on the stat and everytime going through it's heat up and cool down cycle, which is really not an efficient way of running it..😳🤔
@@nur5ey1 I just tested mine with lights on, no flicker at all, I checked with one of my friend's who also installed it, he said he had flicker when he was running it off and old small agm battery and when he switched it to his main lifepo4 the LED flicker went away. I tested the temp cut off too, mine seems like it went on low mode for a little bit before fully switching off (the van was getting too hot I think even with low mode)
Hey Jason, No, haven't had an issues so far. I'd check what the error code is and maybe get in touch with JP via facebook, they seem very helpful troubleshooting things.
