The range from the cab of my Raptor is just a little too far for the TPMS sensors to reach the monitor so I added a repeater in the propane compartment at the front of our Airstream.

After changing out the batteries (2 years old) the sensors have been working flawlessly for about 3000 miles of use. I am going to change batteries as part of the de-winterizing process each year. Probably don't need to but the batteries are real cheap and peace of mind is worth it.

I like your explanation how the job was done and found it very helpful. BUT I have one concern, the fitting taking place near your gas bottles. One has to consider the remote possibility of a spark from the electrical wiring and there being gas to ignite. I know its a one in a million chance but I still don't like the odds.

A fair criticism but I would think that it is way less than one in a million chance - you will probably win the MegaMillions lottery first. First, there is nothing that could cause a spark and second, as long as your gas cans are connected properly you should never have a worry. Part of your normal safety procedures is to check for tight fittings for your propane before you turn them on.

The box was an aluminum box that I had in my garage. Honestly I do not have a clue where it came from

I'm attaching mine in the same place as you but with 3M dual lock tape. Then I have the same two prong connector goin to the Zamp connector already on the battery box. I wonder if mounting INSIDE the propane tank cover reduces the signal since it's aluminum?

I would guess that the aluminum would reduce it somewhat but I have not had any issues with my setup. Before I put this in I definitely had a problem with the passenger side rear.

Thanks for posting the link for the repeater. Not sure but I think you posted a video on a water filtration system you put together. It had two house type filters piggy backed next to each other with two different filters. Did you video that system or am I out in left field?

No sir - I spent a lot of time on the Airstream forums and I kept seeing a TST rep answering questions and providing excellent support. Based on the customer interaction as well as lots of positive reviews of the brand on the forum I purchased them. Does this mean they are the best - probably not but in my opinion close to it - but I can tell you that I have had no problems with them and many owners swear by them.

I am currently setting up my TPMS for a DP and enclosed trailer. I ordered a repeater and am considering setting it up in this fashion, but my question is why you have to disconnect it each time? If it is hardwired into the closet light as EEZ suggests, it would be on all the time. Can I do it this way and leave it connected all the time?

I wanted to be able to turn it off so it would not be a parasitic drain when we are boon docking. I would assume that it may have a prolonged life if it is not on 24/7 - otherwise I don't see a reason why it would not be perfectly fine being on all the time.
