In this video, we got 3 huge culverts installed under our driveway so water could flow under the road instead of over it. After the culverts were installed, the road was smoothed back out again. Music: Peyruis - Finesse / peyruis
Thanks! I have 2 more ongoing time lapse projects right now. This culvert time lapse was actually filmed just yesterday and wasn't planned more than a few days before that, so I always like when I can take advantage of opportunities to make interesting videos, although I do still like the compilations that take a year to complete
You got me hooked! Love the time lapse and so impressed by all the hard work you do with each project! All I can say is I wish I could see a walk thru after each project in real time. And most of all More More More time lapse! Awesome work ethic and talent!
Thanks for watching i'm glad you liked it! I'm thinking of doing a farm tour video where I show some of the projects after they have been completed, and I also might try doing a behind-the-scenes video about my time lapse videos.
It was not too bad at this particular spot but the flooding in the main part of our property was very significant. We live at the bottom of a valley, so we are installing a trench to catch the water coming down the hill and direct it through these new culverts, instead of through the main part of our property.
Those culverts are surprisingly strong. They are made of plastic, but it has multiple layers with ridges which hold the pipe's shape, and also the dirt keeps them from deforming. We've had at least 15 ton trucks come to our farm and the culverts haven't had any issues.
@@DawnDBoyerPhD I think culverts similar to these would work fine to replace the concrete ones, and they would be a lot cheaper and won't crack over time. We used 36 inch culverts but I assume smaller ones would be even stronger.
Thanks for watching! I thought 3 huge culverts might have been a little more than necessary, but we do get some pretty big unexpected rains here so it is best to be prepared. I didn't actually run the backhoe in this video, we hired someone to do it, but I will definitely film myself if I do any backhoe work in the future.
I agree, in this case there was a massive rock under the far left culvert and it wasn't possible to make the culvert sit lower without tearing up an even larger section of the road.
