The sculpture was commissioned in 2019 in partnership with the Australian College of Nursing Foundation. It was created by Dr Charles Robb, cast in bronze at Billman’s Foundry, Castlemaine, Victoria and installed into Poppy’s Forecourt in the Eastern Grounds of the Australian War Memorial in July 2023.
