What is the model number for the tow hitch you installed, who makes it and where can it be purchased online? The only ones I can find seem to install beneath the bumper.
Kindly enlighten us as to exactly how you are going to access the wiring harness without removing any trim, or mount the bar without taking off the bumper, o master of spanners. Plus, the Hayman Reese retails for $200 more than the genuine article.
IMO, the outlander towbar sucks big time. In 50 years of driving and towing trailers, this is the absolute worst tow bar for for stricking the ground on just ordinary domestic driveways. The car has excellent ground clearance, but the towbar is the worst I have ever experienced. It needs a redesign. Perhaps cut a notch into the rear bumper so the tongue can be raised, & use a solid thick flat tongue rather than the 2" square section.
@@elmel7896 Except for when you come to a change in gradient. Then, the departure angle is very poor, even worse if the the tow tongue is in place. Even though the level ground clearance is very good, it's all undone by the rear overhang & low protruding tow tongue. It's the worst designed tow-bar I have seen in over 50 years of towing all sorts of trailers.
