The difference in the diameter of the header (or midpipe) runners is to control or “boost” the hp/tq throughout the powerband i.e creating back pressure in the correct range needed

I remember back in the day every team in WSBK was rocking arrow exhaust badass sound for sure. The diameter of the pipe is what improves the airflow this increasing HP!

Hell yeah!!!! That exhaust sounds off the chain! I also have a GP sounding exhaust on my Gen1 Busa. It's actually louder than that. The GP sound is the way to go man.

Arrow is the best sounding exhaust for these newer s1000rr.. just my opinion.. I personally have one (had) and boy does it sound good.. video does no way justice.. thing is loud, but not obnoxiously loud.. and it has a deep bassy sound and not so much a high pitch raspy sound like the Akropovic’s.. I know Akra has a great rep and people swear by them.. but try the arrow, you guys will love it!

11:46 that shape, I mean different diameter through the pipe create a air pressure inside the exhaust pipe. That air pressure helps the exhaust valve close better and tighter, that's why inside the cylinder the power stroke can be done with more air with higher pressure resulting more power. If the pipe was same in diameter through the whole length, then there would be no back pressure from the exhaust pipe, so the exhaust valve will close only by the cam lobes with no assistance from the exhaust air pressure. So the power stroke cannot be done with the extra edge assisted by the exhaust air pressure. Resulting same or less power than the stock exhaust system. That's why we all shouldn't use cheap exhaust system 🙂

I don’t have a new M ( poor people problems LoL), but I love my Arrow full Ti Competition Evo on my 11 BMW 1kRR. It sounds so different on the S1kRR then most exhaust which is another reason I like it so much.

SC Project has been my favorite exhaust for years now. They're used in WSBK!

Awsome. Can you not get a wsbk spec system for yours mani? Maybe from alpha? Educated guess the header shape is to create a pulse through pressure difference which will encourage cylinder scavanging or simply put 'suck the gas out faster'. Think 2-stroke with those huge chambers in the exhaust and pea-shooter exits just on a much smaller level.

in the early 2000 to around 2010 the bikes even a 600 came with a 530 chain I just changed my 05 r6 chain with a vortex 520 it had a 530 on it that was huge but the power they are getting out of modern bike a 520 will work and does not stretch on a liter bike BUT they will explode with the heavy load constantly stretching was because they used different metal and the newer ones are high carbon for strength but is brittle when hot and hard loading if your running a 520 on a liter bike buy top quality and just know it could explode and even send shrapnel like bullets

Love the video guys. When I grew up I noticed an Arrow exhaust on a 1988 GSXR and was sold. I have an Arrow on my Triumph and love it. Premium brand. The name became a bit lost because of Acrapovic and SC but they share the same quality mark in my opinion. Another brand that I grew up with, also Italian is LEOVINCE. Also great stuff. I would look into it when I need another exhaust

Long story short it’s to maximize HP and TQ. That’s why the size changes on the header.

Not to be a smart ass but I'm pretty sure Mani was wrong. The titanium has better heat dissipation vs stainless... if I'm not mistaken. Which does allow for better air flow - hence more power. It's a small amount but I'm pretty sure it makes a difference.
