Thank you for the kind words🙏. If you haven’t already, you should subscribe. I’m just about to complete my latest on posting to social media directly from the RC Pro. Lots more coming!
Regarding a stylus. Easy to forget or awkward to carry? Get a tiny one with a loop on it, along with an elastic or stretchy string made to tether it. attach to your lanyard. Done. I have one on all of my controllers with displays (capacitive displays)
To fly with or just to use as a map? The RC Pro doesn’t have a data plan so you would need to be on Wi-Fi or use your phone as a hotspot. If I’m using my phone then I’d probably just get to Google Maps that way. Google maps is one of the Apps easily accessible via the Rubik’s Cube thing in the upper right of Chrome. But the short answer is, “No, I have not tried.”
@@middleloopvideo You could still install the Google Store on the Smart Controller. From there the Goggle Maps because you could log in with the Google account... In the home network (WiFi) it was possible to save (any) map (or a section of it) so that this map was then available when flying without a hotspot. That was very helpful, because no additional "interference sources" had to be switched on.... Unfortunately, this path is blocked with the RC Pro, so I'm still looking for a suitable solution... As I said, it's about saving a (desired) map section at home (in the WiFi network) and then using it "in the field"..... Do you see another possibility...???
@@juupafilms I now always use my smartphone as a hotspot and have set up the WiFi in the RC Pro accordingly. I can then display the current map on the RC Pro in the field at any time, as long as the smartphone has reception and can update my current location... I can also use Google maps on my smartphone to prepare map excerpts at home, i.e. save them on my smartphone, so that the card is available even if there is no reception...
Hello, thank you for the lovely tutorial. I have been trying figure out how to nove on with the limited apps and the sticky key pad which you addressed. thank you once again.
Did things change because of firmware updates? I just tried and I couldn’t get this to work. Everything went fine but the google play app I installed just isn’t there? I’m trying to wirelessly mirror or somehow connect the controller to monitor..
Hi, Just a quick question, I appreciate that files downloaded from the internet are saved to internal memory, but are 3rd party apps installed on the internal memory or SD card?
Sorry for the delay. I’ve been out of pocket for a couple of weeks. The last example suggests downloading the 3rd party app using a computer. The file you’re downloading will have an extension of .apk This is the app’s installer program. Copy that file to a USB stick to move it to the RC Pro and install it there. I hope that helps!
I'd be interested in some of the useful APKs that you have in your RC Pro for drone flying. Also, do they sync? For example, can I use ALOFT or B4UFly and have it sync from the RC Pro? Thanks for sharing.
I have chrome. Although it’s a little unstable and social media apps. I’m afraid I don’t understand the benefit of Aloft or B4UFLY on the RC Pro. I’m very happy to just use my phone for those.
@@middleloopvideo I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. As much as I've cleaned it, deleted things, and moved things to the external card, it's full. I just ordered the S22 Ultra, but I want as much stuff off of my Note 8 as possible. It will be my backup. So those items on the RC Pro would be nice. I've already talked to DJI about making the Drone cache and other items capable of being directed to the external card on the phone. They said they will look at that.
@@middleloopvideo Something else I was looking for, is a way to just send a created video from the RC Pro to either an email account, or someplace else that it could be viewed of my choosing. Right now I just figured out how to move things to the external card and then I put the external card in my laptop and send it from there. Such a pain! Thanks for sharing! 👏 👏 👏
@@DHMeister I’m working on a video right now to post to social media direct off the RC Pro. Not exactly what you were looking for but some of the elements might apply
@@DHMeister so will the Note 8 still be on a data plan? Those two apps are important to me in the field on network. Especially Aloft for clearing airspace. I guess you can check for an android version and try them on the RC Pro. But then you need to setup a hotspot in the field
Another question 🙏😂 Mavic 3 Classic: On the RC Pro, right side wheel „Zoom“, it works in Video mode (3x), unfortunately not in Picture mode ! Is something wrong with my. RC Pro settings ? Left side wheel is Gimble up-down, no problem at all. Thank you in advance from Japan 🇯🇵 Jr2fji Kj6arr
Since I am an iPhone/iPad user, what app do you recommend installing so I can send photos/videos the DJI Fly app creates over to one of my iOS devices? Looking for Android to iPhone basically.
Have you checked out our video on copying files to iPhone? Here’s a link to the entire RC Pro series (playlist) DJI RC Pro ru-vid.com/group/PLtJ_UtyjP8QwrnUX2sbIvwnnHxVs8Jom0 I don’t explicitly show the create files, but that video and the “Finding Files” video might help. We are also planning a video on simple editing using the Create function of the Fly app. Stay Tuned and subscribe if you haven’t already.
Yeah... some of these apps don't handle landscape very well... I showed that on our video about, "Posting to Social Media on the DJI RC Pro", here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Iid55nUn_M.html (at about the 6 1/2 minute mark)... sorry!
Thanks for this tutorial. It was extremely helpful. However, on drone deploy it gives me the error “google play services not supported by this device” apparently this is required for drone deploy to work. Is there a fix for this? The RC pro is supposedly an Android platform.
Unfortunately not all Android devices are alike 😢. This driver is widely used by a lot of developers. Anytime it’s used, we’re out of luck. It would be great if DJI would accommodate. Is there a web version of the app that you can use via a browser?
Hello. I don’t have that controller. But it’s my understanding that you cannot install 3rd party apps on it. Can you do me a favor and verify that you also cannot livestream on that controller? The option should be under the three dots in the upper right under the Transmission tab near the top. It should be called, “Live Streaming Platforms” or something similar. We show where at the 10:05 mark of this video: Livestream to Instagram from a DJI Drone ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZspQdlE7Wzo.html Thank you!
I have seen videos where they got into the instagram and then managed to get google apps installed but I think DJI fixed those back doors. I was able to log into RU-vid and can watch video and see my history but I can't find a way to get to a browser or gmail or even the app store. @@middleloopvideo
Yeah... that RC is a very scaled down version. But, I'm sure it's very good at the primary job of flying the drone. Were you able to confirm that there is no Live Streaming option? Thank you.
Well... I was able to install it. But, it won't run. It needs Google Play services, which it says are not supported by this device. I have not verified that the services are not compatible. I did confirm that RU-vid runs on the browser. m.youtube.com
Couldn't find Middleloop content on the RC (RM330) - likely due to the inability to support anything beyond the embedded Android build it ships with. That's a shame, but DJI built, and priced it to be a viable option to RC-N1, providing a decent display, not to be an RC Pro SE. With a "swap for RC-N1 price" around $150 USD and standalone price of just over $300, it's hard to fault, as long as you keep expectations in check. The many RU-vid RM330 vs RM510 videos are a bit silly. I don't think there's anyone cross shopping these two - nor should there be. Those complaining about the RC (RM330) abilities are undoubtedly the same folks who a) Thought Mini 2 needed more capability. DJI: Mini 3 Pro. they revert tp "too expensive" - DJI provides Mini 3; "but it doesn't have blah blah!" - sense a pattern here? DJI does good market research. If you want something for nothing, that is not DJI doing something wrong.
I agree. Lot of complaints regarding the 330… all expecting it to compete with the RC Pro. I’m also surprised by those complaining about the RC Pro trying to use it as a tablet???
Great question! I would imagine that each app would do the checking to see if there’s an update available. But, hopefully only when the app is running and only if the app has that functionality built in. Then what? Would it send you to the Google Play store to download? We know that doesn’t work. Hopefully you’ll at least be alerted to manually update it. I never have. 😉
Does the rc pro has a camera on top of the screen? How come no one has mentioned this.... I've seen a tons of videos and I haven't seen the camera on neither one of the rc pros...
Hi Jerry, thanks for great information, I just managed to install Google photos, however it not allowed me to initiate my account, any advice would be totally appreciate. Tank you.
@@Iguanasrannas it could be a compatibility issue. But, that usually generates an error . I’ve never used that app so no experience with it. I don’t suppose there are any settings available off a menu where you can add your credentials?
Hello! Sorry for the delay... I needed to refresh my memory... What they call the "Home Screen" may have changed... But, we cover the Original Smart Controller and some of the differences in our video on "Shortcuts". Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jMQtlKx-4ds.html . The Smart Controller differences are at the 5:22 mark. I hope it helps!
Oh I get it, I thought you meant the rc controller without the back buttons which is the one that came with my mini 3. From what I can see, it looks impossible to get to the home screen their. I should have specified a little better. Although I was wondering, what if you install a 3rd party app for the drone? Would it work the same as a phone?
@@middleloopvideo oh ok, but what if you install a 3rd party drone app like this go fly app I found in the App Store on the rc pro. Would the app detect the rc pro as a controller?
Sorry, I've lost track of which controller/drone you are referencing. If you are still talking about the mini 3 and the controller it came with, the DJI RC (not the pro)... I don't have any experience with it but I heard you cant install 3rd party apps. Doesn't it already has the DJI Fly app on it? If you're asking about the RC Pro. It definitely has the DJI Fly App on it already. The original Smart Controller has the Go 4 app and the DJI Fly app... Anyway... to try answer your direct question... the app has more to do with the drone that's connected to the controller. For example... on my original Smart Controller, when I have the Mavic 2 Pro connected, it's only compatible the the Go 4 app. I get an error if I try and open the Fly App... Sorry if I've just made it more confusing. :)
Working on it now. Running into a problem with RU-vid Live where it wants to use the camera, which of course doesn’t exist on the RC Pro and no way to screen share. Stay tuned.
Yes. Didn’t it take over a year before the api was available for the mini 2? I did hear a rumor from a fairly knowledgeable source that waypoints will be coming in the summer.
Having managed to download ApowerMirror on to my RC Pro at last, I’m very disappointed to discover that I can’t mirror the controller’s display to my I-pad at the same time as recording it.😂
