Definitely just convinced me to get this for my 05 3500 Sierra reg cab. I feel like mine is the only one left on the road with an 8 foot bed. You ain’t kidding about the limited options. Thanks for the video!
Your exhaust sound's real good. Muffler shop's here can't bend 3" plus tail pipes. So i ordered this cat back setup from Summit. Being delivered today. You can't find the 8.1lltr engine anywhere in deep South Texas. Installing on a 2004 Yukon XL 2500, 4x4. Me and the wife had to fly to Virginia Beach to buy the Yukon and drive it home. Will be an excellent tow rig.
@89PWRRAM that’s pretty awesome. When I bought this system it was the only 3” cat back system I could find for this truck. So far I am quite well satisfied with with it. It should work well with your 8.1 liter engine. Have a great day!
I used to own a 04 6.0 a programmer will wake u up the most changing the shift points really increases the output of your engine and it alters timing Ang airfield tuning tables I had the hypertech tuner and it woke my truck up a lot I already was set up just like you k&n cold air kit and true dual 3 inch but man don't hesitate program that baby then maybe some speed engineering stainless headers
Hey. In my opinion the drone isn’t bad. I’ve done a couple of several hour road trips and the sound level was livable. Not too bad when you’re just driving along. When you put your foot into it, it’ll sound off. It is certainly throatier than stock.
What model #JBA muffler is this? I like the subtle rumble it offers. It's not too loud, but has enough when you step on it. I have a 2001 1500HD 6L. Please let me know. Thanks!!
@@kentuckytim4443 I also have 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500HD, 6.0 liter. I see a lot of truck owners fighting to get a muffler and tailpipe on the factory system. Your pick looks right for me. Thanks for posting the kit number 40-3030. I know this system will fit.
@Jimi Hendrix it certainly didn’t hurt the performance or fuel economy, but I never actually did a before and after test of each, so it’d be hard to prove. I believe it did improve horse power to some degree, the truck runs pretty well. I’m not trying to sell this system, just thought I’d show people what the system is. Thanks!
@@kentuckytim4443 It took me quite a bit of research to finally decide what I wanted to do, I just ordered a Kooks muffler, they are straight through and people say they sound great with modern V8 engines. Other than that, looking forward to ordering a pair of JBA shorty headers that are CARB compliant for my 5.3 Vortec since I live in California. I’m gonna keep the original tubing and stock Y pipe as I would assume that it would be a much easier install because of the 4WD. It’s my budget friendly and keep it simple take on this whole exhaust thing. I remind myself of K.I.S.S.- “keep it simple, stupid!”
@Jakob Brott, of course everyone has their own opinion as to what is too loud, or not loud enough. I like an exhaust system that has a nice rumble to it, but I’m not crazy about a lot of noise in the cab. I am very well pleased with this system. It certainly isn’t the loudest exhaust system out there, but when you hammer down on it, it has a nice rumble to it. As far as long drives, as long as you’re not pulling it hard, it’s pretty tolerable.
