Install a 48v 30Ah Lithium battery in your Razor MX650!! It's a tight fit, but will fit in your MX650 or MX500. I estimate this will give you 3-4 hours of constant hard riding run time with the 1800watt 48v upgrade. Please like and subscribe.

You’ve got a nice collection. I’m local and looking for a used mx650 since I’ll be replacing nearly everything I just need a cheap frame basically. If you ever have one you want to let go I’ll be watching

How do you get the output wires from the battery to connect to the controller? I know that BTRpower batteries come with quick disconnect plugs but do you have to solder the actual wires together on the battery and controller ends? or how does that work?

Love your videos man! I did a 3000 watt 50amp 52 volt lithium battery set up for my mx 650 and it rips! I'm a grown adult. I've been watching adults modify their razors and finally did the build. You give some good tips maintaining the razors. I still have to buy replacement forks because when I hit the front brakes the inner fork moves when it shouldn't. When you took the forks apart the plastic bushings are probably worn out and never lubricated. I was thinking making some new ones using PVC pipe I don't know though. what do you think?

Thank you. If you are on Facebook join a group called "modified Razors" . There is a guy on there who 3D printed replacement parts for the forks. See if you can get his drawings and have them printed. I think that would be better than PVC. PVC maybe you could get to work.

I need help simple I would say...I have a 1000w 48v scooter n want to swap to 48v 25ah lithium battery but I want to know do I have to connect fuse to the lithium battery like how the stock lead acid battery comes

I've never had one fail or noticeablly reduce performance. Actually one failed but because of physical damage

Hey - nice vid & thanks for the info! So the claim is lithium batteries are supposed to last much longer than SLA... My question is, what was the lifespan of your battery that died? Do you know why it died? How long did you have it before it died on you?

Hello, the battery was maybe 18 months old, but upon inspection it died because it was physically gouged, so it didn't really "go bad"

I'm also using a lithium ion battery (48v 20AH), would It be an issue to use the designated charging port built into the controller? Thanks

For sure you can't use the same charger that came with the original mx650. It is 36v and you need a 48v lithium charger. I would use the charger that came with your battery, assuming you received one. Technically you could re-wire the charger and battery connections to use the original port. I never did that because we have multiple MX650's in the neighborhood and someone could accidentally plug in an old charger.

Hello, I think I ended up using 40 amp fuses. Regarding the battery, I bought all of my batteries off of eBay. You will find lots of ones similar to the one I got.

Great video. I just installed a 36v 20ah lith battery to my son’s MX500. Works fine, except if he opens the throttle quickly, it shuts off. When he turns the switch off then back on, it resets and works again. Any idea why this happens?

Tim Armbruster his MX500 had a 36v system, so I used the same controller and throttle that came with the bike. I can’t attach a picture of the battery I purchased on eBay back in May. I purchased and installed another one for my other son’s MX500, but his is a 48v 20 ah lithium...and works great. Any other option to send you pictures? John

Hi when u had your 48v 20ah how low did you let it drain till you charge it?

I charged it after every ride. I don't remember what the low voltage cutoff was. Every lithium battery has a different low voltage cutoff. The battery has a built in BMS to cut it off.

What’s the ride time? Here on dirt roads I only get like 20 minutes on a 48v 20ah batter

Something is wrong. Maybe the brakes are rubbing. On a 48v 20ah battery you should get around 2 hours

Honestly I don't think I ever ran the 20Ah down in one session. I would say it lasted 2-3 hours which is longer than I ride. I think the kids have run it down over the course of a day but not sure actual ride time. I had to replace it so just did 30ah.

Can I put a 48v battery in my MX650 with JUST the battery change? Or do I need to change the motor and controller?

It's best to change the controller and motor. People do jus5 change the battery, but expect it to burn out the controller and/or motor eventually.

i bought a 48v 1000w brushless motor and 30 ah controller but the battery you have is out of my price range...any other ideas?

Yes you can get a 48v 20ah or 15ah battery much cheaper. Wonvt last as long as this one but will still offer 2-3 times the stock runtime.

Probably not for very long. Most people, if they are looking to overvolt, will buy the 50 dollar overvolt kit off ebay. It comes with controller and throttle.

I had a special deal as part of a return for another battery, so got it for $250, but yes, they are very expensive. You will love it though. Probably go for 4 hours or so.

they are all over ebay. I used to buy from seller koyochen but doesn't look like he is active any more. Lots of other sellers selling the same batteries
