Good job Randy! I love the notion of a Driver school! You certainly have the prerequisites for being a top notch instructor. I'm hopeful that you are able to make it a reality. Best of luck sir!
Just subscribed a couple of days ago because I have enjoyed anything I’ve seen Randy do on RU-vid. Now I find out he’s also a Tundra guy and he lives in my neck of the woods, win win...
Hi, Ron! I’ll make ya a deal on a slightly used stock Tundra exhaust, too! Thx for watching. I love the macho rumble the truck now has. Was too shussy-silent before. Still friendly.
I agree on the quieter setting, as pulling a trailer with a louder exhaust can be a droning nightmare. Even though it sounds good running to the redline, you will spend most of your time at a steady rpm going down the highway, so adjust accordingly 😬
Did the muffler get banged up in shipping or was that something that happened during installation? if it happened in shipping, mind answering who the shipping provider was or where you bought the exhaust from? I typically buy from Summit Racing
It did arrive w a small ding in center muffler. I got the system from my friends at Borla. We go way back. UPS, maybe? Since it’s buried underneath, I don’t mind. Tips are perfecto 👍
I cut the muffler off my 98 grand cherokee with the 5.2 V8 in order to make room for my long arm suspension. It sounded so good i never bothered to replace it. It remains quiet idling and cruising around town, but sounds mean as hell when i get into the throttle. Never really gets super loud though. I guess the catalytic converter is enough of a muffler.
The sweetness of low price is forgotten long after the bitterness of low quality remains. It is a premium product, I feel lucky to have it on my truck. And proud.
@@randypobstofficial Hey, more power to ya. Just saying, there are comparable quality systems for less (and most aren't simply glass-packed mufflers like the MF) - and most of us out here in the real world do have to concern ourselves with such things.
That's hilarious how you tried to take off the welded nut. Just know there are 2 nuts like that on 2 of the alignment adjusters. 2 loosen from the bolts and 2 loosen from the nuts. Very confusing if you don't know, because they look identical.
Hard to say, Dusty. The rumble sure makes it feel more powerful! A dyno test would say. I expect a few extra ponies at high rpm (about 3500 up in this truck engine) due to less restriction. Maybe someday? It was really for the look and the sound, for me.
Randy Pobst it was definitely worth it! I’ve always liked trucks that had dual exhaust and sounded awesome, the little extra ponies are always just an added bonus!👍
You must be a more slender man than myself. There is no way i could fit under my 08 tundra without jacking it up. Even driving the front tires up into 8in blocks left me with barely enough room to work under there.
