Maaate i have a CL1 andd live in titahi bay, i have a bach out makara and have seen ya on the ohariu roads a few times! good vids mate, i plan on turning the cl1 into a weapon
Nice video man! I have really only just discovered your channel over this lockdown but I originally found your channel a few months ago through how to pass the restricted test. I was about to pass on my first try, had completed parallel park and all perfectly but unfortunately my testers tablet disconnected 40mins in. Luckily they gave me a free rebook and I passed the next time. I now have a 96 civic lxi and found your channel through your review on one. Mine is also a red hatchback but in manual. I have to say Honda’s are awesome cars and your channel has inspired/ convinced me a lot. I’ll be getting an intake, lowering springs and wheels down the line. Thanks for making your vids and doing what you do bro!
Hey KiwiCarLife. Just got my cl9 stock but its automatic. Do you recommend any mods to start off such an exhaust or anything else considering its an automatic?
I can advice you do not install "sport" exhaust because it is automatic and will booooooooo in your interior and resonate a lot in comparison with manual transmission. Other devices that Kiwi installed earlier - all of them are suitable for your cl9 also. Especially Reflash
Difficult. The K24's, though more torque-heavy than other Honda engines, are momentum engines. And an old fashioned 5AT takes all the momentum out of them. Facing the same issue with mine, I think i'm just going to sell it and look for a 6MT ... If you have a really mint CL9... you can maybe consider just splooging the money for a MT-conversion. As the chances of finding mint CL9's decrease, and you know what you have now, as opposed to buying something completely different and maybe taking on someone else's problems.
@@The_Noticer. I don't think in terms of Auto transmission for that era, 5AT was bad, it was an extra gear then most Auto's got + tiptronic, it also doesn't operate like a normal AT either, its closer to a MT
@@choiceparalysis I'm not sure what you're getting at. The CL9 was only available in 5AT, 5MT and 6MT.. And the sequential box isn't bad, it's just only 5 gears, and therefor the ratio's suffer.
Great videos. Greetings from Bulgaria! I have the same Accord but with automatic transmission. I want to reflash it and install new headers. Does it make sense to do it on automatic? How do you think?
Hey mate, thanks for all your great cl9 content. Would you say all you need is headers/high flow cat/cold air intake? rather than changing the whole exhaust out? cheers.
Wheels, suspension, good tyres first. Then reflash/remap/tune whatever you want to call it. Type S kit if you fancy (Spoon/Mugen/Modulo are other options depending on taste) and a decent exhaust and you're good to go.
Hello. I have the same a-spec front bumper. But I can't find a splitter for it. Where did you get yours from? Can I get a website link? I am from Europe however :(.
Hey man just talking from experience. Be careful with your new intake and make sure you watch and see if it's rubbing on the metal part of the chassis before it drops into the bumper. I had the same setup and I ended up getting some rad hose and cutting it in half and making a rubber buffer around that spot. It was wearing almost a hole in my intake.
Air can be a bit cooler if you cover that intake with thermal tape, but I think it is also useless%)) the best way is to take air directly from one of fog lights
@@Tantium yeah it is risky, thankfully where I live it doesn't rain that much - but it pays to have a water sock on it just in case. One under the engine bay should be safe though
@@Tantium ofc it is risky but there is actually oem resonator chamber for that purposes - to stop water from getting into the engine. And my personal view is - leave oem air intake pipes together with resonator chamber under the front bumper and install a filter with less resistance (or how to name it correctly in english)
@@KiwiCarLife cheap brake improvements for 7gen accords are: rear brake calipers Nissin 9CLP14S from Honda Accord EuroR + 282 disk (can be a problem with dust "plate" as it is smaller, but you can install it from Honda Inspire UC1 or just "fix" yours with a hammer), front calipers ADVICS from Honda Legend KB1/KB2. On the other hand you can buy ready to install kit like Rotora, Wilwood, Stoptech
you can find it on ebay when you search for "Mushroom filter", i got the 80mm so it needed a "3.5"-3" restrictor coupler to speed up air velocity... like the original HKS it has a huge velocity stack behind the foam. thats where the air gets snorted without turbulence.
@KiwiCarLife saw a same CAI in the ebay and was about to buy it. But then i got sceptical with it coz it rains in brisbane and randomly as well was getting worried bout it. Lmfao
