Installing a custom interior on a 3rd gen toyota tacoma. The trim panels are reupholstered in an outdoor vinyl made to look and feel like tooled leather.
Hey folks just wanted to clarify that the video does not show the drying time between applying contact cement to the surfaces and adhering the materials together. Contact cement must be given enough time to get tacky before adhesion.
Jesus man this should have much more views. I did this to my mustang but bought pre-fab pieces for it. Came out fantastic but man what you did is truly custom!
Awesome. Like others I’ve been considering doing this as well. Thanks for the step by step process. This is one interior mod I look forward to doing. 👍🏼
This is something I always wanted to do but after seeing the sheer amount of work involved I think I’m gonna have to pass, thank you for going through everything so thoroughly and I applaud your craftsmanship!!
My 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed has the Premium and Technology pkgs. I really HATE Black interior and my truck came with Black Leather, so I’m saving up for Katzkin to make Burgundy Leather seats for my TRD. After Katzkin removes the black leather seat covers and installs the Burgundy Leather, then they will remove my friends Gray cloth seat covers and install the Black Leather from my truck. I am wanting Katzkin to remove the Black inserts from my doors and dashboard and replace them with the Burgundy color to match my seats.
O Man !!! Excellent. I have been searching internet for this exact mod. Well done. I have soundproofed doors and upgraded speakers so i know how to remove door panels. The dash panel i thought had a airbag in it so i never went forward with mod. To bad you didn't show how to remove dash panel. Thankx, i have subscribed and will check out your channel. Tom
I need mine done in Lava Red to match my Lava Red Katzkin Leather upholstery on my 23 TRD OR, DC, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. I HATE the factory Black leather interior
Thanks man! That was a big part of what I was going for, always loved that style. I found the wood grain on Amazon! I’ll see if I can attach a link below. They are attached with double sided tape from the seller, they lay surprisingly flush but I may remove the tape and use a liquid adhesive for an even more flush/factory look. I could be wrong but I believe the woodgrain look was made on these pieces by hydro dipping. Car ABS Inner Look Central... www.amazon.com/dp/B09C62SBMF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hello. Awesome video. Great details about the process. Question: For the four doors panels how many yards of vanilla fabric I need to buy (any measures about the length in yards. I would like to get it in black. Thank you for sharing. BTW my door are exactly than yours.
Where did u get this tooled looking vinyl from?? I’ve looked everywhere, found something similar, but it has flowers in it and I don’t want flowers lol, thanks great job by the way!!
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. Here's the link for the vinyl I used, I believe they have a couple of color options as well. www.fabricguru.com/pvc-fabric/richloom-valpariso-embossed-vinyl-upholstery-fabric-saddle.html
What part number is the weatern fabric or leather? Or where do you get it id like to do a different color in my quicksand taco thank you and no one has said how to do this on forums ive searched big help also what size screws and how far did you have to drill in that part worrys me i dont want to drill into the fabric lol i always worry way to much doing stuff like this
Here's the link to where I bought it. The company is Fabric Gurus and I believe they have several color options as well. Unfortunately I don't recall the length of the screws, but I had the same concern and went with pretty short screws. Doesn't take much for the screw to grab on enough to hold it thankfully. When I had it apart I was able to get a better idea of what length screw I needed to make it work. www.fabricguru.com/pvc-fabric/richloom-valpariso-embossed-vinyl-upholstery-fabric-saddle.html
