I don’t know why, but seeing the drainage system working at the end is so satisfying, especially in this case with all the gushing water! Good job by your client. 👏 Thanks for another great video. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Same as yourself love to see the results proves the water is going away from the home and down to another drain or river or creek , the main guy knows what he’s talking about and seems to have a good crew around him , seem to all do a great job
After watching Gate City Foundation Drainage videos for a couple of years, it is clear Shawn loves to problem solve and assesses his clients needs as he would on his own property. His crew always deserves props also.
I am 100% sure the homeowner have caught on to your filming technique, that was extremely satisfying, and also hear him being so happy about the result and it also showed up on camera, and hehe, and there cannot be a better commercial for your work than this! That creek he got there was moving a ton of water, wow, that was impressive to see in his backyard! But, I understand why he is satisfied with that hole now being gone that you filled in, in a year or two, you will not be able to see you have been there
I thought so too. His filming during the rain was excellent. I gave him a few pointers, but it's all his work. Even the problem with the unglued coupler was easy and clear to understand based on his video.
Jaw on the floor when I saw all that water coming out of that pipe. And not even raining real heavy. Magic job, made my day over here in Australia. Proper drainage is foundational to a good living environment.
Same Matthew! The homeowner has sent me several videos over the last few months and it's amazing how much water. I could have never hit the rain just right, the homeowner gets all the credit for those shots!
I like how you are using drainage fittings,wye's,45s,long sweeps. Plumber by trade. Looks good. You are the only one that I have seen that does this! Nice work. Employees look like they are having fun.
That's the whole reason I started doing this drainage work Randy. I solved flooding problems at a few of my rental houses and used plumbing techniques and then saw that no one else was doing it. I certainly think the PVC is the way to go.
When you connect a solid PVC pipe directly to the "gutter itself"...then the gutter acts like your towns water storage system...way above everything else. If you want to drain your gutter water to the street that is five feet the front door of the house...that is no problem because the gutter is well above the 5 foot height . A gutter that is 8 feet tall is no problem. If you hav a two story house then a 10 rise to the street would work great...so long as your PVC pipes are glued and sealed tight from the gutters down.
I was so happy to see a Gate City Video show up this evening. I like the fence on this property. The homeowner seems like a great customer , I would have a whisky and watch my drainage system too. Another job well done !
Shawn, GREAT selection for the music in the 12:30 - 14:00 minute range....up-beat, but not annoying. Makes the video easy to watch, and the up-tempo is great for the high frame rate.
People never think to look up at what the gutters are doing when they have flooding issues. I'm always shocked by just how much water can come off the roof too. That water is no longer a problem as it enters the stream, far away from the house.
Good job dude. It’s nice to see young folks working. Hard work is what has afforded me retirement and I can sit back and let the next generations take over ☮️
Man, that house has tons of water going through. Love watching videos have tons of water pouring out of the PVC pipes at the end. Perfect to have you and your crew work on it. Beautiful works by everyone, including the home owner. haha.
It clearly seems your client is very happy. Those out pipes are showing some serious flow. and only 1 missed joint for glue (at least it was accessible and not a buried one).. happy customer means it was a good job
This video is so satisfying to watch and full credit to the customer on catching the system in action. His comments on pvc over corrugated perfectly summarised which is the superior pipe, for flow solid wall pvc just can’t be beat.
I like seeing you give lots of people work Sean, I'm sure that brings your profit down....My boss would have had 3 of us doing that job, himself, myself and another.....He would only tell us what to do and spray out the lines.....So basically only 2 of us doing it.....Like every other video, you did what needed to be done., the homeowner is happy and that's all the matters, although, you do do need to take pride in your work.
Thank you Dale! It's always a struggle to take the energy to get those shots. I really think the shots are worth it, so I appreciate you and your support! Thank you again, Shawn
Great video Shawn, and awesome job well done by the whole GCF crew. That's pretty cool that the homeowner sent videos of the system working... usually only they are present during the highest flow rates.
Great video Shaun, very impressive and love drone footage of your truck and trailer leaving, that was really footage the customer sent you, well done on a great tidy job.
Wow, what a great homeowner to work with and what a terrific job. Couldn't believe the volume and velocity of the water out of the main pipe on that first "after" clip. Wonderful property by the looks of things; top work Shawn and team. All the best.
Super, Yet another property with a built in Stream, that was a lotta flow....Those red elephant ears are really nice looking its great when the homeowner is pleased to get all that handled.
Very nice job. Stumbled across this channel the other day and it’s interesting to see how you guys over the water install surface water drainage differently to how we do it in the UK. Usually we install P traps (or Gullies as we call them) to collect our rainwater downpipes which also acts as a cleanout so you can scoop out any debris that collects in the bottom from the roof. Normally surface water drains on new builds here go into soakaways or retention ponds as today’s legislation states that surface water has to be temporarily stored or slowed down to prevent flooding, but the majority of older properties are still connected to combined sewers which during heavy rain have to discharge overflow water into the nearest rivers via pumping stations. Very interesting channel buddy, been loving the rip rap and culvert videos! From ‘sunny’ England 👍🏻
I love watching your video’s, the whole proces from start to finish and the icing on the cake is to see it work so well when it’s raining. One happy camper 👌👍
That was a really good video. Really enjoyed it. Your people work well together. Everything went well. This customer being so happy he's going to bring you extra work for sure. More customers like that makes your job more enjoyable. Good stuff. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Wow it is amazing how well that system works! The PVC pipe moves the water so well. Even the little flow from the AC unit made it to the outfall! Great job!
Great video Shawn and crew! I wish my house had drainage issues so I could watch though guys work and devise a plan to take care of the water. Love videos like this, keep them up.
Always look forward to watching this videos even tho I did my 80 ft French drain to sump pump system to day 💡 on my backyard 6 months ago some good research 🔬 after 2years decided to do it my self had to hire some laborers to dig the trench I took care of the rest saved my self 6 grand ✅💰🎯😀
Hi Shawn, great video. I don’t know who gets more excited you or the home owner? You when you find corrugated or the home owner on how much water is flying out the pipe. Lol really now problem with fall on this one. Ok stay well………Bobby L
Haha Same. This was one happy homeowner. Just seeing all that water coming out of the pipe is a testament to the pipe and that water no longer being a potential problem!
All this pipework, nothing more simple after all - but when done right, and that's not simple - is very exciting to watch in action 😆 great job, a big mucky problem out of the way for the homeowner 👌
I've found using a recip saw with a wood blade makes very short work of springy roots. It's also easier on the shoulders. It looks like you could expand into raising and repairing sunken and broken concrete as a sideline. Great video!
@@GCFD You have to think "Why has it sunk?". Deal with the root cause first. Repairing is OK if it's not major damage whereas replacing is more costly but is the best move in the long run. The decision is definitely case by case.
If things weren’t so expensive right now, I would pay you to come to Louisiana. I’ve been watching since the beginning of your channel. I have severe water drainage issues. Water sits against my house. Literally like 3-4 inches at least standing.
Such a beautiful property that will only be enhanced with moving all that water into the proper place. That A/C drip is no joke, surprisingly how much comes out.
You do such a good job. I referred your video's to a guy up in Tennessee but he obviously didn't watch them and ended up with massive flooding around his pole barn ruining alot of stuff. Now he is redoing it all and still is using shitty corrugated pipe not PVC, Oh well.
It's so pleasing watching these videos b/c it always ends with an IRL-function test. I'd like to see a job where you laser-level the trench with an excavator using minimal labor b/c of the precision scoops. Similar to the GPS & laser combos on the largest machines on large acreage. I wish I could have installed mine more than a fancy 30 inches deep. Ya gotta bring a sharpener for the axe, chunks should be coming off every other stroke.
Hi guys another great video from you. You certainly know how to redirect the pipeline to get the maximum flow of water away from the homeowners property. Why don’t the original installers do it your way when they build the house, is it down to cost ? But now it cost the homeowners a hell of a lot more money for you and your excellent team to come in to rectify their drainage problems.
There was no reason to add the expense of a drainage system when the house was built. It would not add any value to the house, therefore cutting into the profit. In this case, there were no issues of water getting into the basement. Most damages to land and patio were from lack of maintenance and probably didn't appear until well after any type of warranty expired. Even if there were issues that called for a drainage system, builder wouldn't install a quality system like this. If a builder did add a drainage system, it would probably have been corrugated pipe which would've failed due to tree roots in that yard and the lack of maintenance (cleaning gutters). Even with all this work, the homeowner must keep the gutters clean or the same issues will arise.
