I have one of these on my CPC1100 Deluxe HD. It works OK; It does not perfectly align in the telescope without the bearing that was removed and therefore it does not have consistent feel as you rotate it; it has uneven resistance as you rotate it during focus. I've tried loosening the mounting screws and trying to find a sweet-spot where the resistance is consistent, but I haven't had success. I of course made sure everything is lubed-up and have tried exercising the telescope throughout its range of focus.
If one gets the Feathertouch focuser for the C14, the instructions are different for that telescope. Follow the instructions that are included on the CD installation disk that comes with the focuser.
question : When you initially take out the bearing assembly you are left with the focus shaft rod being exposed. my question is if you push or pull on the shaft is it the mirror thats been moved back and forth?
The threaded tube is bonded to the back of the mirror, and yes it slides the mirror back and forth. I am not sure if you push it all the way in if the mirror will come off the baffle tube, proceed with caution.
