Today we're continuing to work on our french drain in our backyard and instead of the typical crushed stone and perforated pipe we're trying something new.
Thanks for following along on this journey as we bring this abandoned farm back to what it used to be 200 years ago and more!

Should I be concerned with the significant drop in water coming out after filling in the trench? Thanks for watching and following along on our journey!! Be sure to subscribe for future updates and projects on the farm with this link bit.ly/2YWNN7T

I see the cab fogging up. I got a pointer from one of my subscribers to run the heat with the AC on. It works great.

The sad thing is I had the AC running, just couldn't keep up. I may not have had the recirculating vent on the right setting. At least the AC is working now though.

Nice. I don’t have a backhoe. I’m cutting a swale along a slope at the fence line. However I think I’ll need to add or upgrade the whole thing to a drain to move the water away quicker and more efficiently. Nice work. Thanks for sharing. 😎

Thanks for watching! Water problems are the worst. Seems like when you get one figured out another pops up! Good luck with your project!

How is the EZ drain working out 1 year later? Particularly curious after all this rain we've received this summer in NE

Everything I put in place for drainage seems to have done the trick. This past spring with all the melt wasn't as bad. I haven't had any issues with all the rain either. As far as the EZ drain goes, I probably wouldn't use it again. For my installation it was hard to get level because of all the water rushing in. I think it would have been easier to just use crushed stone and pipe.

Yeah, getting rid of water in wet areas is a pain! Especially if the ground is mostly flat! I put a French drain in around our patio, it works well. In New England we have 5 seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Mud season. I think we are going to have an extended mud season this year…

I'm with you on the extended mud season. Trying to get ahead of it, but we'll see how it all works!
