Installed a Mechman 370 Alternator in a 2009 Chevy Tahoe helpful tips inside this video for this alternator too function properly @bj_from_the478 #mechman #chevytahoe #caraudio
Looks great thanks for sharing another great informational video my brother. That would be definitely a good upgrade for my 05 Cadillac Escalade 6.0 engine.
The belt you installed is part# 12626222 which is incorrect. Mechman and other high output alternators have a smaller pully and your required to run a smaller belt or else u could burn out the alternator as well as the output not being at its full potential, I believe the correct belt is ACDELCO part# K060930HD. Also, not sure if you were aware but you can just bypass that RVC sensor with a mechman p101 & p103 module instead of doing all that extra stuff with the negative side.
With the GMC you need to run the power wire throu the sensor. I did the big 3 on my suburban and the first time I didn't run it through the sensor and the voltage didn't hold up.
What if you are running a second alternator. How do you set that up to run a second battery or is a mechman 370 good enough to run 2 batteries. I want my mechman to run my system only while the other battery runs the truck.
I have a question... do you have anything connected to that grounding stud on the front passenger side of your engine block? If so, what wires are connected there? My 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT has that stud, but nothing is attached to it.
If you look closer it say ground engraved by that bolt Butt that’s mainly for ground your jumper cables if you run that alternator you need too ground the top of the alternator and run the ground though the sensor ring straight too the battery ground you’ll need too cut the factory ground loose too remove the ground wire too run the new wire though the sensor. The reason for Doug that is so the alternator since the current drop and kicks on
@@bj_from_the478 I think my real question is... where is your negative battery cable grounded to? I know one eyelet should be to the frame behind the front bumper. But, where is the eyelet that is grounded to the block? I am not even sure if the vehicle in the video is yours, so you may not know. You could've been working on someone else's vehicle. But, if you can help, I will surely appreciate it.
The belt he used is ACDELCO part# 12626222 but is the incorrect belt. When using a high output alternator from Mechman or pretty much every other company your supposed to go down by a half inch or so. The correct belt would be ACDELCO part# K060930HD.
I have a 2007 chevy tahoe where i put a 350 amp alt and it will work and do its job for about a few days then out of no where it will go into a mode where the voltage light will come on and the volts will be about 9 or 10 volts what could be the issue ?
that weird that your having that issue, i was having that exact issue with my "newly" bought refurb 130A OE ALT, then i bought me a 250A ALT w/ a 250A fuse wire kit and Zero gauge wire. No more Volt drops. You probably got unlucky and got a bad one which is rare in the High output range ALT's... Hope it didn't cause serious internal engine damage your truck
