A while back for gits and shiggles I bought a metal detector so I could go looking for lost jewelry on the lake beach. Hubby used it to trace out the phone lines by setting it so it will target copper lines They can be expensive and hard to justify if you don't do much detecting. Instead You can get the small hand wands and duct tape it to a stick. Wand it back and fourth over the pipe and adjust the sensitivity so that you can get a reading on the copper. You will find it will be well worth the purchase within just short period of time. You can also use it to detect the power lined in your wall where they are routed along with locating studs by finding the nails. It works even thru lathing so don't worry about that. I know you don't like amazon but its easy to find one there. E bay has them as well. They are hand held waterproof metal detector wands. I hope this helps. Its an easy way to trace underground lines using a metal detector.
Goggle Crown royal and call the factory. They were setting up a new Indiana saler. The guy I used was a total scam artist and was worthless. I ended up calling the factory and they took care of everything and were awesome. The stove is on the pricer end but you get what you pay for and is efficent enough to qualify for a 26% tax CREDIT.
