Hi Erik - In some cases, the range is probably set too far out. The facility manager or installer could adjust the range down (adjustment screw underneath the cover) and it will probably fix it. The sensor is likely picking up the door, and as it moves it activates the valve.
Not a huge fan of these sensors and these are my childhood from my old school also the riverchase galleria mall are getting rid of handles and putting these in for safety from covid and there changing 3.5 and 1.6 with 1.28 and for urinals 0.8
