Installing an aFe Takeda Intake on My 2022 Hyundai Kona N! 

No, not specifically. They have shields at different sizes, this one at 5-6" fits the typhoon intakes!

So used a 1" or 25mm cap! I used the one from HPS off amazon here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083QJP211/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But I'm sure there's a cheaper one out there but that was the spec I used above!

On AliExpress! The piece came with a center part that i cut out to fit. Coulda been a cleaner cut but fits!

I think go with what you like or have. I swapped mostly for the aFe event but excited to run and see how it goes. Still love the K&N setup and like you said no real difference without a tune but mostly just preference in look and budget!

For sound go for a forge intake, Afe just looks like it would be there oem as package. Hp wise, eh all i can say is i see more tuned N's with the forge i would say

So this is my two cents on CAI’s, they definitely add some hp on boosted vehicles but the most beneficial thing they provide is efficiency, most factory intakes are corrugated (ripples or indentions in the material) which I believe causes turbulence in the air as it heads to the turbo which can rob efficiency, a nice smooth air path that doesn’t flex or distort under acceleration like rubber does will provide a consistent air charge resulting in greater hp efficiency. I had the AFE takeda momentum on my Veloster N and the turbo inlet upgrade as well and it 100% made a difference. Also just ordered a pile of upgrades for the Kona, Forge intercooler and charge pipe, AFE turbo inlet, and Eibach pro kit lowering springs so I’m very excited lol. Didn’t get a vid but it ran a best of 13.36 at 106mph in the 1/4 so not too bad for a few bolt on’s, stock tune and street tires.

The strip is a great place to practice the launch control and NGS, definitely getting tuned once the other parts are installed but I’m gonna get some more runs in before I do because I wanna see if I can get in the 12’s with full bolt on’s and stock tune (octane learn).

I believe aFe always submits their products for CARB but always takes a long time! So I would say TBD!
