Awesome how to video! Very important point at the end about where you placed it so that when skip casting things wouldn't be awkward. Definitely things to think about when installing anything on your yak.
Should be a great setup! Very excited to have the comfort on the water which the anchor will provide. Especially in the spring when I start seeing spawning fish again!
It really is a game changer for kayak anglers. It always stinks trying to position a yak and having the wind push you around. This helps a ton with that. Thanks Parker!
I liked the way you filmed the install. I use a 15ft retractable dog leash attached to my anchor, I can lock it and get the line in easy. I need to add a trolley system like that though.
I have heard those setups work pretty well too! The one thing I don't like about this anchor is re-stringing the line as I retrieve it (especially if I have 15+ feet out). Thanks for watching Bobby!
A better way of attaching the rope to the anchor is to hook it on the bottom, and use a sacrificial lil zip tie on the rope at the top, that way when it snags you can break the zip tie and retrieve the anchor backwards. My .02
I haven’t been watching your vids lately, yes I’m horrible.... however currently binging and didn’t realize I needed an Ethan singing badly fix. I’m good now BTW no need to call.
Safety first, right? I noticed you were not wearing your seatbelt coming back from Home Depot. I did not go back to see if you not wearing it on the previous trip...but I know you were not wearing it then.
Thank you for noticing! I probably screwed up and forgot to buckle for that but I can assure you I always buckle up and will continue to do so. Appreciate your attention to detail/safety 🤠💚
Well dad gum it Yankee, you should have told me BEFORE I drilled the holes! Haha, yeah I figured this one should do the trick, hopefully I don't regret it!
Hey Ethan: You should be good to go, as long as the kit-provided pulley fasteners don't pull out of the holes you had to drill. As my picture shows, I took a no drilling approach using carabiners to hold these different style pulleys to my kayak's existing front and rear handles. www.dropbox.com/s/fw0g1q7n6yq2och/pulley.jpeg
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll have any issues! If I do, I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there. The handle location on this yak made it a bit tough to execute that system, however that is very similar to what I use on my FeelFree yak! Thanks Larry :)
