Thanks. I just purchased a 2023 120pdl salty and absolutely love it. Only fished off it once for a couple of hours. I’ll be mostly bay and ocean fishing and this trolley looks like what I’ll need.
Man this was a good review of how to put on the yakattack lever lock anchor. We are about to put one on a buddy of mine's kayak here in about 5 minutes for a 30-mile kayak camping trip we about to do tomorrow morning for Father's Day weekend. Me & my family ( wife , 6th boys , & granddaughter ) & my wife coworkers & her family ( husband , 2 sons) all going on this trip. We can't wait is going to be an awesome time man. We are going to put the leverlock Anchor on my my wife coworkers husband kayak for him. Everyone in my family have one on their kayak. I did during the winter time in my basement in our house for a winter project. Might sound crazy but i even put flip flop leashes on everyone's kayak too so no one will lose they flip flops while kayaking because we need to kayak Barefooted 👣 style because of us having extremely wide feet. Happy Father's Day to you & enjoy your Father's Day weekend.
@@greatamericansurvival well thank you I appreciate that. That is awesome to hear man. We are just like your family we love kayaking anywhere and everywhere. Especially when I have all 6 of my boys and my granddaughter with us. How we going kayaking on the James River. My wife invited her co-worker and her family ( husband, 2 boys) to come with us too it's really going to be a lot of fun. We have kayak with them one time before on a trip like this but I think that was like 20 miles we did & we had a blast. Hoping everything goes well cuz I'm just getting over a severe sunburn on my face , my arms , my legs , & my feet so I need to try to protect my feet and arms for the weekend.
You can use a variety of things as an actual anchor, small kettle bells work well, cheap dumbbell weights from Goodwill, down rigger weight are one of my favorites. If your fishing moving rivers a drag chain works great. All can be rigged on an clothesline reel with Paracord. There’s a video in our kayak diy playlist should help some. Any more questions let me know. Cheers
Why didn't you go with backing plates? I'd love to put one of these on my pdl120 but, I don't want to mess with the backing plates. Are they needed? (I fish inshore)
I was wondering the same thing. My guess is if you're fishing lakes your ok. But if you're in any kind of current you're gonna want the backing plates. Seems like over time it'd pop out without em.
