Installing an E-Fuel Kit In a 7.3 Powerstroke

This video has been a long time in the making. I had to take the bed off my truck to get to the sending units, and that lead to me Sandblasting ( • Truck Frame Restoratio... ) and Painting ( • Truck Frame Restoration ) the frame of my truck before I could install this kit.
I recently purchased the Marty's E-Fuel kit for the OBS fords, yes...PURCHASED...no, they didnt send it to me for free. I spent $1400 of my own money on this kit because, through a lot of research I felt it was the best kit on the market. You might be able to find a kit for cheaper, but in all reality, you get what you pay for.
While the installation of electronic fueling in these 7.3 Powerstroke is not a hard job, it can be somewhat time consuming. You really don't need any specialty tools, you can get it done with a basic mechanics set. While this was definitely easier having a car lift, you could accomplish this with the vehicle on the ground.

Great install video man. I know it was a big hassle but definitely worth it in the end (The CAT filters look sharp👍.) Too bad the pump was bad right out of the box. At least it didn’t take long after that to get a good one installed, and get back up and running. BTW congrats on hitting over 1,000 subs! Well deserved man🥳!

Quick question the front hoses on the head did you connect them together or did connect to the return on the regulator?
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott 2 года назад
The hoses that come off the front of the head go to each side of the regulator, and the return hose comes off the regulator to the selector valve

Hi, nice vid. This helped immensely in my recent install. This is probably a silly question but how do I use the water separator? Do I have to drain it? I seem to be having a slow leak just from the separator.
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott Год назад
You should drain it about every oil change. And where is it leaking from, the gasket? I would take the separator off, check the gasket, clean both the gasket, and mounting surface and reinstall.
@lewisgolding6010
@lewisgolding6010 Год назад
@@EverythingElliott leak source is not apparent. Just seems to be a drop of fuel in cohesion to bottom of nipple. Which Inturn is dropping on floor. I was thinking maybe the drain is slightly loose. I’m assuming the nipple gets turned and that is how you drain them.

I know this is late, but I'm curious about how you hooked up a water in fuel light, or a fuel pressure gauge that goes into the cab. Thanks.
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott Год назад
Never too late to ask questions! Did you think I didn't read the comments?! I didn't hook up the water in fuel light as there's no sensor to tap into in the water separator filter. I will just check it every so often. If you want to set up a fuel pressure gauge in the cab, the simplest way to do it would be to get an electronic one, hook the sensor into the port where I installed the gauge, run the wire into the cab and put it where ever you desire. The regulator with this system is a pretty high quality one, so you shouldn't have any issue with setting and forgetting. That's my plan of attack on monitoring fuel pressure.

i did this with this and that . on my 97 hd . clean valley . quik , strong start .i used a oem pump for an E 2 50 with stroke and got a water fuel separator from Napa. foss regulator . reversed flow so fuel enters heads in front. exits rear. fluid filled guage on engine. "key on" runs pump. i have 50 psi at crank. cost 350$ and a day of fiddling. i thew out the ford , filter housing and mechanical pump. capped cam hole with custom plug and bolt down bracket using original holes. also had badly leaking ( violently , more like) hpop output lines. at the pump /boss fittings.i tried all the suggestions and new fittings and even custom made high pressure hoses. all leaked. violently..... finaly drilled out 1/4 output ports to 3/8 pipe thread . no more leaks. was tricky but im sure some of you get why i did that. proof is 1ook later , no leaks. currently at 316k and goin strong. i threw floating drum rear brake axle away also. replaced with 2001 f 250 limited slip , 3/73 , disc brake 3/4ton axle. just had to weld shock brackets on from old one and assemble a bastard joint and.... BAM! . then i used 2001 front rotors and old pads to fit thicker rotor . all late metric wheels fit now. love how it stops .

Wow, lots of work, basically just to fix a small fuel leak? I have absolutely no issues with the stock fuel setup, runs great always has. If I ever get a leak, I'll just replace gaskets/orings as appropriate. And what was that part about them saying they don't warranty the fuel pump? So they sell a system and offer no warranty? I see they replaced it for you, as they should have, but that didn't quite make sense. They damn well better replace anything that is faulty from one of their kits.
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott 4 месяца назад
I would say it was time consuming, but not difficult. And the warranty issue comes from Bosch. Something about diesel not being on the list of liquids for warranty. I understand because Marty’s isn’t producing the pump, just simply providing it from Bosch. But as you saw they warrantied it for me, they are super good people and have great customer service.
