In this video, I will be installing an Edelbrock on my Chevy Big Block 454. For those of you who are new, or if you are doing the same thing to your 454, let me help you out cause I had to figure this out on my own. These are the parts you will need if you order the Edelbrock Performer 1406 or 1411:
Edelbrock Adapter Plate 2696
Edelbrock Throttle Cable Adapter 8009

I had to edit my last message to you it was the first time I was on your site but I figured I would give you a heads-up about the Edelbrock carburetor I'm glad you like the information also if you have problems with the gasoline heating up too much in the carburetor use a phostolic Style carburetor gasket some of them are made of like a wood laminate substance because on very hot days the fuel could vaporize before it gets to your engine combustion chamber to be burned but always if you don't have the problem don't fix it if you do have the particular problems down the road just attack each problem as you come along look at different videos to help you I've been a mechanic for over 50 years I started when I was 10 I'm 59 now when I go back to school I look good with videos that the latest mechanics have if you have a problem study a few videos even go to books if you need to look up specs engine specifications whatever you need

Wow, you've seen it all! 50 years is incredible! I appreciate that advice about the heating of the fuel. I haven't had that problem with this carburetor thankfully. And yeah I agree with going by the rule "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Thanks for commenting!

Forgot to plug off the front left vacuum outlet where you got a leak.

Got a 94 Chevy 2500 454 would this really help my gas mileage?

Your 454 is fuel injected. You can’t put a carburetor on a fuel injected engine. The last year they made carburetors on the 454 was 1986 (the year of my truck). As far as gas mileage goes, no this carburetor makes it worse. The stock quadrajet carb had better gas mileage.
