I find it hard to believe you haven’t installed the Supercharger? You have an excellent channel with crazy passion for the Tacoma. Would be an excellent video to see you and your bro install the Supercharger from Magnuson!!!!
I've heard some mixed reviews with the supercharger and the regear! I have regeared the truck so I'm not sure...Plus that's a lot of money for extra power on a truck! I'd rather put that towards more power for my R8 instead!
As a 2016 Tacoma Owner, The Only Performance mod that will make real power (almost too much) is a Magnuson Supercharger!!!! Feels like a V-8. Absolutely love my Magnuson Superchargers on both my Tacoma and 4Runner
I have that same injen intake and for some reason it was a bit of a struggle to bolt the air box down. I want to say one of the holes was a 1/16th off. But with some shoving I got it on and it sounds great! The only thing I don't like about the intake is when I go to pull the oil dipstick out, it hits the intake. Have to bend it away when pulling it out/in.
It did take some time to bolt the box in! I had my compressor kind of in the way which made it a little more difficult, had to move that back about 1/2 an inch! And I just changed my oil and found that out! Not too bad though!
i find it funny how people think that the bigger the box the more air and power you actually get in, but in reality, that has nothing to do with it. lol, but regardless it looks good. I'm no physics expert, but let me explain a little something. the big entry doesn't necessairily mean more air, the pressure is higher, when the air passes through a smaller orifice pressure is lower, but air moves in faster. it is basically a balance between the two, they work together, in fact the way that afe has it, it is a better design in asence how it starts big and end small, pussing the air in a small orifice having a better flow.
I'm not sure that really applies to a naturally aspirated engine. The throttle body is the limiter of how much air can go into the engine. Air is getting sucked in. So it will only be as much air as the throttle body can allow at vacuum. A forced induction car would be different because you are forcing air into the engine. So then the diameter can make a difference since you can literally force more volume at a higher speed and shoot it through the throttle body regardless of its diameter. This intake is just for sound and looks. But any restrictions removed from the stock system can add about 10hp depending on the car. By old 370Z added that much from an intake with no tuning.
Mine didn’t come with the rubber bit that goes where the snorkel would go to seal the air. For now, I have it installed but I can’t hear my intake even with a high rpm.
Dumb question but do you disconnect the battery before unplugging your MAF sensor so that way when you go to re plug it back in, it won’t throw any codes?? 🤔
Honestly no. Years ago I would. But I've stop doing that since it doesnt seem to do anything. I just drive conservative for a few drive cycles to let the ECU read things. Then start getting on it like normal
Not really! If I needed to take it out to clean it, it's a few bolts and pop it right out! You don't have to remove the entire box to clean the filter, but in my case, I was installing a new intake!
I'm actually having the same problem now with these struts and the new intake, I have a small gap between the headlight and hood on the passenger side, might have to dremel a little away for it to work. They are the redline tuning I got from Tacoma beast! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R7eZhdfcdCk.html
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I just installed the same intake on my 22 with the redlines and had that gap as well. As much as I hated to, I ended up removing the struts.
Theres no issue there. You'll never get enough water to even remotely make a difference. Unless you go through a river where the water goes into the grille over the hood for a long period of time. I wouldn't worry
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I don’t see anything wrong w saying it that subscribe button. I watched about 5 hours of ur videos yesterday and didn’t even think of hitting subscribe until today when I finally heard/noticed it. It’s a good friendly reminder. That guy got too much ego to worry about
I'm looking into the air intake and after market exhaust in hopes the two will help drag to boat up the hills. My Tacoma hates hills especially with any kind of a trailer behind it.
An intake and exhaust will not help with towing at all! Even regearing my truck, which has helped with daily driving.. it's not gear shift happy with towing as much, but with a 4500 pound boat, I can still feel the weight and it'll shift more with that extra weight! If you are towing often, a bigger truck is a better option!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Good to know. I always get stuck in a high RPM struggle up the hills. Maybe this is more of a gearing issue then a power issue. Maybe I'll trade the Taco in for something a little bigger. I've been eye balling the Ford Raptor because why not lol
@@mtcoiner7994 After the regear I felt a big difference! Not so much with towing, but Toyota didn’t give it an upgraded transmission over the previous gen, just added a 6th gear that wasn’t useful! Hopefully next gen is better! But a raptor would be great! Not as much towing capability as a normal F150 but more than the Tacoma!
No, technically it can't void warranty. They would have to prove that this part was the culprit with any issues, but an intake won't do anything. I install the first one really soon on the truck while it was still under and never had any issues.
Have you driven your truck when it rain? Do we have to remove the RAM when it rain? I read this on their website IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR IN RAIN WITH A COLD AIR INTAKE SYSTEM? Injen Technology Ram / Cold Air Intake Systems should be removed in wet climate conditions. Failure to do so may cause water to be absorbed into the engine through the Intake System causing serious engine failure. Injen Technology assumes no liability for damages to your engine due to water entering your vehicle's system.
Yes I have been in the rain with this system! Doesn't seem to affect it, but it wouldn't make sense to have a system you have to remove and install every time depending on the weather. I'm leaving it as is and it should be fine.
What a stupid design. You have to take the the unit apart to clean or change the filter..... It is also very expensive for some plastic parts and a filter.... Also who the hell presses the accelerator to the max to hear the intake filter......
You have to take the stock one apart to clean it as well, so don’t have a point there lol And some people love to hear the sound including myself so if that’s not for you fine, let people enjoy what they want.
